Lovers with Tortoiseshell Harigata Atmosphere Spray

This is sandalwood, patchouli, and resins. Very warm, smooth patch. Sexy, dirty hippie indeed.

    Edgar Miche, Mysterious Adventurer

Soft brown leather, with cardamom and spices. I honestly prefer this to Leopold which had obnoxious black leather if I'm to pick a leather blend. The brown leather note is similar to that of Quincy Morris, and the cardamom and spices ensure that it softens the blend up further for wearing.
  3. Manly black leather and fur. If you were looking for chemically black leather and animal fur, and just want to go balls out animalistic, give this a whirl.

    Aubin Grandpied Bunmanchi, Childhood Playmate

Aubin and I do not get along. What started out as lavender water, salty fur and a slightly sour myrrh note devolved completely into something that smells like bandaids. At which point, I just had to bid adiue to Aubin.

    Lady Cecily Sasquets, The Ingenue

Lady Cecily is a rosy, peony heavy floral. Slightly musky on the drydown, but I get no fur, which I have to admit isn't a note that I'm fond off. Pretty, rugged, floral.

    When Stars are Weeping

Okay, out of ALL of the blends this is the one that I wanted the most to work, and yet was worried that it wouldn't based on multiple elements like violet and carrot seed. This ends up as blue musk, carrot seed, violet, and citrus with swirls of vanilla. It's a beautiful, poignant, watery vanilla musk. And I LOVE IT. It's light, classic, sophisticated and I adore it to bits. So much so that I already have multiples of it. ETA: Finally put my finger on it. This has a Silence-esque vibe with the blue musk/contemplative type but with added watery bits (carrot seet, violet) and the vanilla undertone which makes it much more wearable. This should have jumped out at me from the get go but I was too distracted by the gorgeousness of the blend.

    Revisiting Scenes of Past Delight

Fruity, musky, melon. This one sort of reminds me to La Fee Verte, I think, which was the most honeydew melon blend they put out there. If you love melon, try this. That's pretty much all I got.

At The Mid Hour of Night

On me, this was straight up jasmine and resin. It dries down to a more floral jasmine, and I get some of the musk come through. But overall, this blend is dominated by jasmine for me. Which invariably makes mr. zee_zee turn around and glare at the cat pee smell of it.

Erotic Images of Spring Evenings Bath Oil

This was a powdery honey with iris. I get a light trace of almond after a while, but in general it was just a powdery honey. Powdery, pretty, honey.

    Spiked Apple Cider Candle

This one is LOVE! It smells just like apple cider. I have a sample of this, and would seriously consider the candle. It is absolutely gorgeous.

    A Collapse of World Lines

This is one of the more interesting Century Guilds to me. It's white tea and berries that drydown to a clove, bergamot and resin blend, with a hint of tangerine. It's mysterious, complex, and all the components don't quite line up together between the wet stage and the drydown, so the experience ends up a little jagged. But because it's not a smooth transition, this has been a blend that has been very interesting to experience.

I Wonder if I've Been Changed in the Night

This one ended a little odd on me. It was dark patchouli, moss, and a touch of greenery.

    When I?

When I is an interesting concept, and more of a scent experience than an actual perfume. To me, it was a chemically aquatic but it's really the combination of salty tears and motor oil, that put me in mind to the Phoenix Steamworks line. In other words, this is what tragic tears in steampunk smell like.

    Wormwood Factory

Wormwood Factory was a bit of a heartbreak for me. It started off as awesome pink lady apples (yes, very much like the kind you get in the supermarket) and absinthe, and slowly developed in to a very clean, crisp, apple air freshner. So, awesome for room scents. Less awesome as perfume.

    Off

Off to me was pretty straightforward. I had deep red roses with a resinous background, and a touch of something that smelled almost sour. Agree with windbourne that this is very similar to the Sick Rose, but more intense and darker.

    UOH2

Again, another one I missed reviewing. So, yes, agreed that this is a Banshee Beat prototype, but I get bitter patchouli with whiffs of hemp. No vanilla for me.

    Tree of Life

And another review I missed back in the day. Reconstructing this from my notes, I get mandarin, wood and sage. Based on the very thin sketch that I have, it probably started off as orange woods and then devolved into a sage, woody with hints of tonka.

    Rigorous Love

I somehow missed reviewing this originally. Rigorous Love doesn't work for me because of the coconut. I get lemongrass, coconut, and a hint of vanilla orchid. So yes, tropical love. For anyone who loves coconut.

    The Sword of Surtur

Oh Surtur, I knew we weren't going to work out. I get mainly ginger, cedar and pepper. And heat. This is like a hot, heated spice. Yeah, totally not for me.

    What scents are masculine? Gender-neutral?

BPAL Hive Mind (this will get xposted to the BPAL FB group as well) - So mr. zee_zee tried the Apparition, and while he enjoyed it, it ended up a little too floral for his tastes. Anyone have any recs on something similar? I'm wracking my brain and spreadsheet, but not entirely sure. (Caveats: no leather based blends).

    Curved Sky

Curved Sky was a blend I was very interested in, but ended up being really weird on my skin chemistry. It opened up as a very bitter grapefruit, and transformed into a smoky/grapefruit blend. I blame the opoponax, which I am really starting to believe is not a scent that plays well with my skin.

    Playful Cat Atmosphere Spray

Incensey, musky, full of myrrh. Playful Cat is dark, playful and resinous. It's very gender neutral, quite pleasant, but unfortunately in this house, myrrh smells like baby powder to a few people. Which means its going to get get no love and no appreciation. *sigh*

    Managarm’s Bloody Jaws

Dry powdery needles, pine, woods and musk. This actually is a much more gentle blend that its name implies. This seems in line with Wolf Moon and the Faunalia blends, and despite the fearsome name, the Moon-Hound seems a cuddly puppy.

    Tlazolteotl

Smoky chocolate, vetiver, and honey. So this is gritty, smoky, cocoa. And very masculine on me. So guys, if you wanted to find a manly Bliss, this would be it. This is a manly man's chocolate. The kind that smokes a cigar and then takes a bite out of some extra-bitter (70%+) chocolate bar.

    Sweet Almond

Sweet Almond SN smells like Dana O'Shea, Lush's Snowcake, and in general any almond heavy blend. It's sweet, toothsome, has a slight marzipan feel to it. Very tasty.
