Frankincense, Myrrh, and Rose Petal Beads Bath Oil
zankoku_zen replied to stellamaris's topic in Thermae
Soft frankincense and roses. I have the other Frank and Myrrh blend on my other hand, and the resins in that blend are much more assertive. This one is a softer blend. Softer resins and just the barest hints of red roses. It's soft, sensual and comforting. -
Yup, this is Snake Oil as a bath oil. Smells like a softer version of Snake Oil on my skin, meaning that it doesn't completely freak out on my skin (my guess based on the other oils for the bathing purposes). It's a dark sultry musky vanilla + incense. I sort of get the Snake Oil hype. Finally. Admittedly it took a BATH OIL for me to get it.

Fluffy chocolate and pumpkin. This is gooey milk chocolate and pumpkin fluff. It's toothsome, tasty and airier than I expected. Well damn. This would make a lovely base for a skin lotion. In fact, I would use it as a moisturizer rather than a bath oil.

Honeysuckle and sugar. This is sweet, fresh honeysuckle. Pretty and floral. The consistency is again very gloopy and oily. Extremely moisturizing.

Oh man, I meant to review this earlier today and totally forgot. My best estimate is that this is an unreleased bath oil, and that most the origin time was Yule 2013, and a few people received this in their BPTP order then. I think Puddin' just cooked up a bunch of it and sent it out in the world (sort of like how SSDB got Sweet Barking Cheese, and then decanted some for forumites for the testing experience). I have to agree with Ordo_ad_Chao - this is a sweet, cinnamon cocoa. The cocoa is a little powdery on me. I can see the comparison to El Dia de Reyes. It actually reminds me to the chocolate in the recent Pumpkin Smores. It's like a cocoa + marshmallow, and cinnamon instead of graham cracker. It's foodie and chocolatey, and it reminds me to any bath oil blend that has a heavy chocolate/cocoa note to it.

Cocoa powder and meringue. It's powdery, slightly sweet, and sugary. Ever sniff hot chocolate mix? Yeah, that's what it smells like. Oddly enough, it's not as sweet or foodie as I would have thought. It's subtle foodie.
-
Red velvet cake, and when it dries down more cream cheese and more white chocolate. It's rich, foodie, cake-y. If you love cake and foodiness, this one smells like the actual baked goods. Red velvet and tasty goodness. Super rich and baked goods.

Ah, I can see why GRR's review is the way it is. This is a very grown up, sophisticated red rose blend. I get musk, a touch of berries, and a fair bit of sandalwood and attar and a breath of tuberose which sort of brings a freshness and airiness to this. This is rich, sultry and sophisticated. It's very regal, powerfully feminine with a good dollop of DO NOT FUCK WITH ME attitude. I don't typically like rose blends and I think this is absolutely gorgeous. I would definitely buy some of this bath oil.

Honey and dirty patchouli. For all you patchouli lovers, this one is for you. It's a slightly sweetened dirty patchouli. For me, the patchouli has a very woody edge, smells almost like cedar.
-
Sugar sweet! I get lemon candies, sugary gumdrops and a touch of dandelion. Overall, this is a candy blend, and if you like your candy and like smelling like candy, go bathe in this. Honestly at this moment, it makes me mildly nostalgic for Halloween.

Red wine, mandarin and oakmoss. I sort of enjoy Froth better than Anthesteria. The red wine note was super present and super aggressive in Anthesteria. This one the citrus and some of the other elements come out more. I sort of enjoy the aquaticness of oakmoss and the mandarin brings that juicy sweet citrus presence to this bath oil.

Awww, I think I like Gingerbread Poppet better as a bath oil than as a perfume. It's a little softer, and a little cuddlier and doesn't quite have the throw that the perfume does. So you get ginger, spices and just enough chewiness for it to be comforting. I don't typically like straight up foodie blends, so I'm surprised at how much I enjoy the bath oil.

This is a heavy peach note - like in Fae - its that ripe, succulent peach dripping with honey. And a touch of oakmoss. But yeah, LOADS of peaches. Super fruity, very decadent, and just if you ever wanted to bathe in that heavy peach syrup from canned peaches, here is your chance!

Chamomile, jasmine, hint of patchouli and chocolate. I get a mainly herby sort of jasmine with hints of patchouli and chocolate to both roughen and sweeten it up. It's what I would consider a very expensive soap, traditional feminine perfume. It's definitely has romance and sensual in its tone.
-
Pink candy! I get sugary sweetness and a whiff of strawberry. Very pink, very sugary, very sweet. If you ever wanted to roll around in sugary candy, I'd definitely pick this bath oil.
-
Dark, smoky tobacco. This one is such a dark hair gloss. It's got such a dirty honey and a dark smoky tobacco. I really sort of enjoy this, but it can be ultra overwhelming. Super sexy, super vampy, super smoky.
-
Oh man, I get mainly coconut, cedar and a hint of dark musk. It smells darkly coconutty, which isn't really my type at all. It's kinda cuddly and if you love coconut, I'd give this a whirl.

Perfumey red apple (definitely a red apple smell) with a hint of honey. Oddly enough, this one has huge throw on me, but relatively low wear length. I think after about an hour I couldn't really smell it anymore and I applied the usual amount. Even Dorian seems to have more lasting power in my hair. But yes, red apples for your hair.

Oh Boo, you don't work for me. I get a cotton vanilla with a hint of marshmallow. I get a ton of cotton, and I don't know why. *sigh*
-
Creamy white chocolate, hint of roses. This smells decadent, and what I would consider a traditional 'Valentine's Day/romance' smell. It's sweet, indulgent chocolate and roses. Chocolate, roses, romance.
-
Fresh mint, lime and a touch of rosemary. I really really enjoy this scent actually. I think it would make for a really refreshing bath. Love the lime in it! Minty, limey, fresh.
-
Blackberry and myrrh. This smells fruity and tasty. I like how the myrrh calms some of the berry sweetness, and prevents it from turning it into a sugary/candy blend, which ultimately was my problem with Fruitbat Fruitbath. Blackberry, resins, touch of sweetness. Lovely.
-
Frosty, soft fir, pine and a hint of sage. This smells cold, magickal and snowy. Like an awesome cold spring with pine needles (which don't magically and mysteriously don't poke at your skin). Cool, frosty, pine.
-
Pine, opoponax and tobacco. This smells like a dark, evil Christmas tree. Or rather, a Xmas tree that likes to smoke cigars. Which is weird to think about. Masculine. Good throw, good wear length. Pine, tobacco, smoke.

White, cottony, florals on a bed of sandalwood.... and holy crap, Ashmedai is right. I totally get Chanel No 5 from this. It's that classic, white floral perfume. Kinda powdery, kinda cottony. I think its the benzoin giving that vanilla powder combined with the sandalwood. Classic, feminine, perfumey. Would be great for enabling BPALista's mothers.
