I get incredibly strong patchouli - dirty, and visceral with just a touch of fig to sweeten it. I can see the people that love Banshee Beat going crazy for this hair gloss. I feel like it has the same sort of dirty patchouli, and the fig just adds a teeny bit of fruity sweetness to it.

Dust, clay, dragon's blood and a touch of gin. I find this one mildly disturbing. It has the same white chalky dust note that Clive Barker's The Day Burned White, which I find well... creepy. So take that dust, mix it with some blood so you get a mud mixture, and that's more or less where I find myself. It smells like the title implies, and its super ominous and apropos and while a great olfactory experience (in the same way that great horror movies are great, even when you're scared!), its not really a perfume in my mind. It's more like WHAM! Let's drop you off in a really horrific scene in a movie and watch you realize that YES, you are in a really horrible terrible place.

So on wet this smelled like a raisin. Which I think is the combination frankincense and anise, and something else. Now, it just sort of smells like licorice, vetiver and raisins. It straddles a weird foodie/resinous line for me. Honestly, it just smells like poisoned raisins. You know, the type that probably are delicious to consume, and then you just keel over dead two hours later with no warning. Dark, foodie, mysterious.

Piney, frosty, metallic. This smells masculine. You get the fresh snow, the pine and fir, and just a tad of metal. Very wintery.

Grog, is that you? This smells like rum, with patchouli and vetiver lacing the edges to ensure that it just doesn't smell like simply booze. It smells rich, buttery and very rummy. I sort of love this, and that's a complete surprise to me. But perhaps I just want some rum?

Oiled, moneyed leather, hint of bay, hint of booze, and a touch of patchouli. This smells like a grand hotel leather couch. You know, the kind of leather that has been polished immaculately for the past 50+ years, and the furniture is all very grand estate, and you can literally feel your bank account drain as you sit in the BEST leather couch you've ever sat on (much too good for your plebeian ass!) Honestly, I'm not sure I enjoy an atmosphere spray that makes me feel poor.

Leather and musk. I get a ton of leather, dark musty musk with just a hint of metal. I'm not a leather fan, and this smells like leather and masculine musk and honestly, very apropos for a BDSM dungeon. Slick, in your face, raw.

Footworn Steps Leading Into a Dank, Suffocating Crypt Atmosphere Spray
zankoku_zen replied to Lethran's topic in Atmosphere
OI! This smells like rotting moss, dank stone and lantern oil. It's super atmospheric, very chilling, and if you've ever been in a haunted house, this is probably how it should smell like. Old, deserted, creepy. So, if you ever wanted to host a kick ass Halloween party and scare the beejesus out of trick or treaters, or anyone that wants to come visit your house, use this. It's like insta-atmosphere. If your house then becomes haunted, well, its because the ghosts felt right at home. -
Hazelnuts, nuts, buttery and with a touch of spice. It's buttery, nutty, and a touch bitter. If you like chestnuts, give this a whirl.

Rappaccini's Greenhouse Atmospheric Spray v2

Melon, cucumber, and then fresh greens. This smells like a summery green garden, and its bright, fresh and zingy. -
Smoky leather, musky moss. This masculine, comforting and understatedly sexy. It actually made me think of Quincy Morris alot. It's got that reassuring masculine vibe to it, quiet strength and just presence.

I heart me some Thrive, and can't believed I've forgotten to review this. So Thrive to me smells like ginger, herbs and a touch of resins. I definitely think this has some lemon to it, and its bright, fresh and fun. It's like suddenly finding yourself in a garden. There's something very solar-energy related to this. LOVE IT.

They Shall Eate the Residue of that which is Escaped

Light vanilla, mint, and then a touch of woods. This smells amazing, and I am hoping that this lasts a little while longer to justify a bottle, but my skin seems to be eating this up. I get low throw and low wear length. But it smells sooooo good! It definitely beat out About Midnight as my favorite Plague of the moment. -
Smite All Thy Borders with Frogges

Dark vetiver, tomato pulp, moss and other watery greens. This smells like bog water that was set on fire. I'm amping up the vetiver, so I get a ton of smokiness, and underneath green murky water with vegetable green freshness. Good throw, good wear length. Smoke, murky water, greens. -
King Solomon's

So I wasn't expecting this to be a watery rose blend, which olfactory-wise makes me think of Mantle of Venus (not Venus, since that's way more concentrated). But oddly enough, the energy is masculine as opposed to feminine. It's a watery rose blend that puts you in touch with your emotions and your rationality. I feel like this is a stabilizing blend, and while doesn't seem to have any overt earth energy to it, it gives that sort of vibe. -
Pumpkin, orange, and grass. This one smells like a pumpkin patch outside. It's fresh, breezy with the pumpkin bringing a bright orange warmness to the blend. It's comforting, soothing, and not smelling like deprivation at all! I find this one personally awesome.

Pumpkin Spice! I love the pumpkin, the spice, the autumn feel of it. This one is rich, foodie, and so atmospheric. Unfortunately, it totally makes me crave pumpkin all things.
-
Mums, black tea and a hint of honey. This a dark, leafy sort of floral with a hint of sweetness. It actually smells very proper to me. Like this is the smell of a luxe apartment in the autumn time. You know, the kind you see in Architectural Digest and you realize that you could probably buy a French chateau with the kind of money you'd need to buy this two bedroom apartment.

Fizzy champagne bubbles and just a hint of floral sweetness. This is bright, cheery, and very girly. It's light, sparkling and I think ideal for the Spring.

Whiskey, Candlesmoke, and Musk Atmosphere Spray
zankoku_zen replied to razzlecupcake's topic in Atmosphere
Oh god, I get whiskey, touch of smoky beeswax, and musk. And yeah, this smells like it should be a haunted saloon. It's atmospheric, sexy, and just boozy enough. Very sexy. -
Olibanum, Blood, and Clove Atmosphere Spray
zankoku_zen replied to razzlecupcake's topic in Atmosphere
Frankincense, a hint of blood and clove. This really smells resinous, with just a touch of salty blood and the smoky clove underneath. It smells like a proper parlour room, that just happens to host a debauched orgy every other Friday after tea time. You know, all very decorous. Except it isn't. -
Bitter cinnamon, dusty patchouli and frankincense. This smells like dry, dusty, cinnamon. Low throw, average wear length.
-
This oozes black pepper, cardamom and vetiver. With a whiff of tobacco on the drydown. So in general, this is a dark, peppery smoky blend. Somewhat masculine. Good throw and good wear length. Dark, smoky, oozy.
-
Dark vanilla sandalwood, with touches of cedar. This is pretty much vanilla sandalwood, and I find it lovely, dark, and slightly ominous. Good throw, good wear length. I may need a partial.

To me, Ourobouros smells earthy and smoky. Vetiver, patchouli, spices, woodsy. It definitely has some of that earth energy, but less concentrated than say the Earth BO in terms of scent. I originally anointed a candle, but forgot to light it. I also dabbed some on myself so as not to waste the oil, and thought about one person in particular while I did so. Long story short: SUPER EFFECTIVE. Yesterday I had a 2+ hour conversation with the person in question about alot of things. It was deep, meaningful, and we talked about patterns of behavior that have to change. The other individual found the talk to be really helpful and I'm fairly optimistic that this will lead to some meaningful and hopefully positive changes. Almost equally as important, I feel very good about the conversation, and there were key takeaways that I think will be helpful for all parties involved.
