Elf is everything it is purported to be and more! It smells like a slightly piney, woodsy, golden musk and honey. It's spring like, ethereal and sort of mystical. Makes for a fantastic hair gloss.

A Triumphal Arch of Leaves and Flowers Atmosphere Spray
zankoku_zen replied to LiberAmoris's topic in Atmosphere
Pink rose petals, springy florals, and a soapy breeze. I don't really get the kitchen herbs on this one, but this is a delicate, spring rose blend. It smells like golden sunshine filtering through pink rose bushes. It's clean, light, and feminine in a very homemaker way. Honestly, I think this is what June Cleaver's kitchen would smell like. -
Red musk, honey and a touch of saffron. I get a ton of red musk from this, sweetened by honey. I think I forgot that this was red musk centric, and neglected to read the description again because I expected something fall like - with the aspen leaves reference. Ah well. Heavy, sexy, red.

I get hints of roses, lemons, ivy and a hint of rocks. It's very atmospheric, fresh, but classic. There's again, a certain kind of mistiness. This smells like roses that fairies would pick. If you like roses, and sort of wish that they didn't bully everything and we're thinking of fairy roses, I'd give this a whirl.

Dark, misty plants. I sprayed this one, and it was overgrown greens, slightly medicinal, and a fair amount of gloomy mist. It was very atmospheric. Out of all of the BPTP scents I've smelled, this one smells TAL-like in that it seems to have an otherworldly component. Perhaps useful for re-creating an outside space when you can't necessarily go outside?

I get jasmine, red wine, roses and a touch of frankincense and patchouli. I seem to amp up all the wrong notes in this one. It's definitely dark, autumnal - but its a pretty jasmine/rose/red wine blend. Or perhaps better thought of as Lucy Westenra when she's bathing prior to seeing her bevy of beaux. She's vampy, but not a vampire yet.

Belphegor's Baubles, Gewgaws, Knickknacks & Objects of Whimsy
zankoku_zen replied to Mellifluous's topic in Unreleased Scents
Belphegor definitely has cumin, cedar, and champagne grapes. So on the drydown I get the sweet champagne fizz note on it, which is odd layered with cedary woods and a good bit of cumin coming through. I'd also think that there's maybe a touch of red currant in this because I get a whiff of sweet yet tart red fruits. Belphegor's baubles smell like I'd expect from a spawn of hell. They may look somewhat benign but a closer inspection reveals their truly diabolical nature. -
Warm cloves, musk, smooth vetiver and sandalwood. Morven is awesome. I get the same woods that you do in Bed of Nails, but throw in cloves instead of metal. It's smooth, strong, and manly. So in some ways it does remind me to Velvet Bandito - but with a cleaner and more classy profile.

I get rose petals. Straight up rose petals. It's rosey, feminine and not that strong. I find it very classic.

Female Beauty in Spiderweb Kimono Atmosphere Spray
zankoku_zen replied to ellocentipede's topic in Atmosphere
This is so lilac and tea leaves, with a base of oakmoss. This is a sophisticated spring-like floral. It's heady, pretty, and very feminine. It does smell vaguely Shunga-esque, in that even the simplest of items feels very elegant and polished. -
I get peach with a hint of white tea. Overall it's light and summery, but unfortunately, it doesn't last that long.

The Peninsula of Thunder. A rolling, booming scent, heavy with foreboding and bristling with peril: scorched ebony wood, raw myrrh, blackened benzoin, Tunisian black musk, bourbon vetiver, black copal, and a sharp, yellow-white blast of cognac and chaulmoogra. Oh man, this one was a little disturbing. It was cedar and dirty patchouli dominant. Which meant, it smelled like smoked, burnt wood (that been the wood and vetiver thrown in together).

The Place Wherein Love Grew Atmosphere Spray
zankoku_zen replied to theseagrows's topic in Atmosphere
This smells like pink roses to me. I get light, pink roses, notes of honey and musk. It's warm, classic, and feminine. -
Deeply scented. This smells like red musk, rose, and a touch of patchouli. Honestly, these are bath salts for Lucy Westenra, that vampire minx.
-
I get a ton of woods and tobacco. No vanilla. This smells predominantly of oak and teak. It's a dark, woodsy, blend. Almost masculine.
-
Aged resinous blend. I get a bit of wood on the drydown, and something that almost smells like brown leather about an hour in. Soft, masculine, and very compelling.

An immensely potent purification oil. Purges your soul of dark and morose thoughts, and vigorously cleanses away day-to-day irritation and misery. Helps relieve stress and anxiety, and clears your mind of ugliness and clutter. White Light BO is like the White Light oil. If you like White Light, you'll like the BO. I got a tiny tester of this and used this as a skin moisturizer. It smells cinnamony, like White Light does it, and incredibly soothing. I think I have a greater resonance with Emotional Healing BO at the moment, but that might just be where I am at the moment. White Light feels more passive than Emotional Healing, but that doesn't mean it's not as effective. ETA: 2017 I used some White Light BO (I got more from the etsy shop when it was up for a hot second), and it has worked really well. It works great for both comfort, stress reliever, and putting you on a better path.

Hazy opium and blood. I mean, this should smell spooky and instead it just smells darkly seductive. This is sexy, compelling, and well, honestly this is what a succubus' bedroom should smell like. Darkly sensual.

Oh man, this has to be the most sinister pumpkin smell ever. This smells like green pumpkins, violets, and loam. It's loamy, and sinister, and in general it smells like a witches' pumpkin patch. Very atmospheric, very spooky. ETA: Because I was describing this to a friend: "It's the pumpkin patch equivalent of the gingerbread house in the middle of the forest. You think its fine, except when you actually THINK about it, you realize how creepy it really is. And then all the subtlety of it all becomes much more ominous."

Blue Spruce and Snow-Capped Pine Atmosphere Spray
zankoku_zen replied to LiberAmoris's topic in Atmosphere
Strong spruce/fir note with a blast of icy snow. It smells dark and snowy, with a lot of spruce. ALOT. -
Oh god, I should hate this. But it smells like cloves, cinnamons, and caramelized sweetness with dark wood notes. It's got a dark, resinous feel to it that when paired with the foodie sweetness just makes it AWESOME. I sprayed the bed, and then just wanted to roll around in it. So yes, much much love for Mr. Fezziwig's Ball.

This is mainly frankincense sweetened with drops of honey. It's a sweet, resinous, incensey frankincense. I would think this would wear well with other perfumes.
-
Cocoa brownies. this smells like brownie batter. Rich, foodie cocoa and brownie batter. UNF.
-
Coconut and shortbread cookies. This is foodie vanilla and sweet coconut. It actually reminds me to coconut macaroons (not the french ones, but the little mound of coconut baked into a cookie).
-
Sugary honey, touch of icyness but in general this is a sugary light honey blend. Very pretty.
