The Wolves Howled, The Ravens Screamed
zankoku_zen replied to lizabelle's topic in Black Phoenix Trading Post
Pine and lavender. This one is the cooler/icier twin to the Language of Crows, which is a pine-tobacco blend. The pine cools the lavender, and then the frankincense pops out. Cool, herby, foresty. Good throw and wear length. This one codes gender-neutral to slightly masculine to me (I think that may be the pine). Again, another blend for mr. zee_zee to test out. -
Piney tobacco and smoky resins. I get hints of pine, birch tar, and sugar. Underneath the tobacco, I get hints of amber. This one is a complex tobacco blend - with plenty of pine and resins, as an FYI. Good throw and wear length. To my nose, this codes as masculine. I'll give this to mr. zee_zee to test out.

Resiny rose and red sandalwood. This one smells like a resinous rose blend. It reminds me to Rose Red, minus the cool green snap and less voluptous. Good throw and wear length.
-
This reminds me to any number of 13 blends - dark chocolate over a dark rooty bed of patchouli. It's a foodie chocolate-patch blend on me. Medium throw, great wear length.
-
Pink roses, extra sugar, and a dollop of honey. This one was pink and sweet. If you love sugary feminine rose blends, give this a try.
-
Soft TKO lavender with traces of pear and bergamot. If you love TKO or lavender, get this. UGH. I might need a bottle.
-
Very light sandalwood, with a touch of patchouli and champaca. I'm actually surprised at how light this is. It's very refined. I actually really like this.
-
Vanilla, incense, and oudh. I get a red musk/incensey bit, sweetened by vanilla and dashed by oudh. Medium throw and wear length.
-
Oudh, rose, chamomile, with a swish of resins. This one is actually mainly an oudh and rose blend on me. Medium throw and wear length.
-
Juniper, myrrh, and resins. This smells like a gin-based resin blend. Medium throw and wear length.
-
Mossy, sundew, and a touch of woods. This one smells like winter in the Bayou. Gender neutral edging toward masculine cologne. Good throw and wear length.
-
Champaca with vanilla, amber and frankincense. This one is warm, golden, and comforting. Soft skin scent on me though. Medium throw and wear length. I am also of the mind that this will age like a champ.
-
Moss, cypress, on a bed of thyme and white musk. This one smells mossy, herby, and cold. Like if an artic blast had made it to Louisiana and frozen everything there. Very gender neutral on me. Good throw and wear length.
-
Buttery pasty and fruity tart blackcurrant jelly. For all of your foodie Sufganiyot dreamers. Good throw and wear length.

I actually get a fair bit of honeysuckle, snowdrops and dash of sweet pea. This one smells like Spring. It's got a slightly buttery overtone to it, and it sort of codes as aquatic lilies as well. I sort of want to love it simply because of the snowdrops, and because I'm currently dreaming of Spring on a day when the windchill makes the temperature feel like in the single digits. Medium throw and wear length.

Honey with a dash of almondy-Snow White. This one would have fit right in with the Frostbitten line. Honeyed Snow White. Good throw and wear length.
-
Snow carnation and a touch of clove. I definitely get both the combination of snow with the carnation, which tames the peppery quality of the carnation, and then the clove gives the carnation a gentle squeeze. Lovely.
-
Moss, mahogany and dirt. To me, this ends up being a very Southern gothic gentleman's cologne. Sort of aquatic, woodsy, folksy. Medium throw and wear length.
-
Cherry cough drops. Hint of almond. Sweet cherries, and just ever so slightly the hint of medicine and almonds. Medium throw, good wear length.
-
Crushed orange pez, plastic, and chemically bubblegum. This one is an odd duck. Admittedly, the plastic nearly fades, so I'm left with a sweet crushed Pez candy smell. Medium throw and wear length.
-
A cucumber version of Two Ply Bristol. Heeey! It's alot fresher than Two Ply Bristol. But yeah, this smells like cucumber, Two Ply Bristol and maybe a touch of ink. Medium throw and wear length.
-
Admah v3 is strange - it's a mentholic resin. I get a whiff of menthol, a tinge of citrus, but an almost fresh juicy bubble burst before I hit a golden resin. The overall smell is that of a golden, herbal sort of smell. Medium throw, medium wear length.
-
Crisp apples that disintegrate into crisp apple blossom air freshner. Medium throw and good wear length.
-
Citrus, straw, and petroleum based plastic. It smells like plastic, and it also sort of vaguely reminds me to the India Ink SN. It's that same sort of true-to-life chemical smell. I'd posit this as a more masculine blend, but not a traditional masculine sort of smell. Great for roleplaying. Good throw and wear length.

Honey cake and buttercream. I get the almonds on the drydown. This one is a sweet, foodie blend that is heavy on the honey. Medium throw and wear length.
