This one had a strong merlot smell from the beginning. As it dried, it became sweeter and puts me in mind of more of a grape. There is leather in the background (which makes me think of merlot splashed on leather pants). This one is a merlot/rose/leather thing going on. I'm not sure it's me, but boy, on the right woman, men would bow down and worship her.

I must admit that this was nicer than I expected. This is a golden rose, very warm, kinda spicy. I do get whafts of cinnamon from this, and the rose isn't overpowering or soapy. That being said - it's still a rose blend, but it is less feminine than what I expected. Foppish man? Oh yes. Would he smell good? Definitely.

I agree with angharad - at the beginning, this was very warm maple sugar. But as it dried, it turned more floral. Right now it has a touch of blackberry but is basically a floral. Bah. I was hoping for sugary fruits. Sad.

Ebisu Making Love As Two Octopuses Look On

Oh man, I love this wet. This is a lovely juicy nectarine smell. Love it. It's almost orangey on me - it's mix of tangerine and peach on me. The fruity aspect fades as it dries down, leaving me with more of a 'zest' kind of thing going on and the skin musk is more prevalent. I love this. It stays close to the skin - sexy and delicate. I've found too many of the peach scents to be heavy for me --- this however is nice, subtle and infinitely wearable. ... Now to hunt me a partial bottle of this or at least, another imp! ETA: Now that I'm wearing a big amount of it - this is what a peach and a nectarine smell like when they have sex on the beach. And it smells gooood! And sexy. -
Okay, so the peony was a highly intense and aggressive note on me when I first applied. As it dried, it turned soapy. An hour later, it's ALL gone. ... Yeah, this so didn't work out between us. It was like the guy that leaves you hanging --- comes on so strong it's almost a turn off, does a quick change on you and before you know, he's gone.

There is something here that does not agree with my skin. I did get a very strong wood note from this --- but also that makes me think that there are juniper berries in this. I get that gin-kinda smell but its combined with something else. This is a very strong wood scent on me, and I don't think I like it.

At me, this had an ozoney aquatic tang a la Irish Spring. Now, I get almost an incensey base to it - warm and strange. This is definitely a masculine scent on me. Unfortunately, the husband is not into the ozones, so I know this isn't one that would appeal to him. Dark murky seas that you don't know what is lurking in them? Oh yes. I think I'm just going to stay a landlubber though.

This has to be one of the more description defying blends for me. I get this dirty note, and some sweet blackcurrant smell, but it doesn't turn to jam. The previous reviewer, Apple, mentioned honey and carnations and I can see that. I normally don't like this kinda scent, but I'm sort of really digging this!

I have to say Masala Whipped + Alice = team yummyness.

I have to say that sweet pea on me is one aggressive note. From wet, until about 15 minutes into the drydown, all I can smell is the sweet pea. After that, its a weird mix of sage and sweet pea. Yup, not for me.

A tropical, humid, lush scent, with a faint echo of Pacific breezes, jungle blossoms, and deep wet woods. Sampaguita blossoms, banana leaf, palm, and narra. Wow, I get banana floral. It's sweet and light. And then the banana takes on almost a peppery edge and the floral aspect drops to the background. Being a girl that does not enjoy bananas, I was still intrigued about this scent. Unfortunately peppered bananas are not at all what I want! ETA: To insert description.

I smell orchid and jungle flowers, very hot, very sultry. It's also slightly sweet. Pretty, but I'm beginning to think I'm a more 'civilized' sort of gal, since most of the 'jungle' themed florals have not worked out for me.
-
This is bubblegum and roses. And now I know that in the cage death match between lotus and roses, roses will win. In the drydown stage, I get more of a soapy rose. But it oscillates between rose bubblegum and a soapy rose. Not for me.

Ohmy! This is blackberry jam on me - very sweet, very fragrant. Tasty, but I don't fancy smelling like jam.
-
I quite enjoy the scent. Berries can be a bit overly sweet for my taste but in this case - the pine and the blackberry balance each other, and the other notes seem to create a green background that isn't too overwhelming. Veerrry nice.

At the beginning, it's an odd mixture of dragonfruit/banana smell mixed with florals. As it dries down, the banana smell goes away, and I get more of the moonflower if I sniff hard enough at it. If I don't, I get a gentle waft of a white floral and a stemy green sort of smell. It's a bit soapy though for my taste. Ah well. Hawaii seems like a no-go for me.

Ah, this didn't work out at all and I so wanted it to. It's orangey soap. Not as bright and orange as like Lush's orange colored soap (which name escapes me right now) but along that vein. I do have to say that it is bright, light, cheery and a bit innocent. Yet, on me, still soap.

I definitely get a strong impression of olives and something else --- I have to say that the entire combination smells extremely familiar, which means I've had another bath product smell like this. I can't place it and it's driving me kinda nuts thinking about it. In any case, this is a honey with a floral and sexy spiciness. I'm surprised that the sandalwood isn't coming more to the forefront. In any case, I agree with the commentator that said "All sexed out". This is what it smells like. Guh.

This one turned out to be nothing like what I was expecting. No mushrooms for me. It's a very warm scent, with hints of coconut (and mind you, if the scent has a bit of coconut my skin will find it and shine a mega-watt light on it!). I do get the dirt note --- which comes from probably black patchouli, because I get the same 'dirty' sort of smell that I get from other blends that have contained black patchouli. In any case, I smelled like a coconut lotion over a patchouli perfume. Not for me.

This is such... well, an odd rose scent on me. I do smell the rose, and it's pretty fragrant, but it's a spicy rose. I can definitely smell the 'Victorian Spices' which to me smell like something familiar, and yet not. Something a little... almost antiquated about them. It does seem to go slightly powdery on me. I'm not a huge rose fan, but this is definitely one of the roses to try in mind. Because it is so very different. Lovers of antiques and roses should try this one for sure.

Unfortunately, this blend doesn't work for me at all. It's a weird mix of incensey/sandalwood and light white florals. Apparently the sandalwood in this blend REALLY likes me, because after twenty minutes, it is the only thing I can smell. For some reason, this does put me in mind of something ecclesiastical, but at the same time, sort of melancholic. Penitent Magdalen indeed.

This one surprised me. It was light and refreshing, a fruity kinda of floral. Cheery. I really liked it, however, the big drawback was that it had almost no throw and no wear length. After an hour, it was gone.

The Great Red Dragon and the Woman Clothed With the Sun

Oddly enough, I also get the sweet hazelnut smell that everyone else does. This is a sweet and spicy wood scent, with a light white floral overtone to it. This is pretty, but not me. I am not a fan of the artwork that inspired it and everytime I smell this, which is pretty, I still think of the painting. *sigh* I'm such a weirdo sometimes. -
Oh man, this is wet lush floral grasses on wet. However, the grass smell starts to recede and I get more of a smell like... Tempest. And yes, Tempest and the Passionate Shepherd must share a few common notes, because I can smell this even when I hold my wrist far far away from my nose (which is what Tempest is like on me). Pretty, but instead of grass I get the ozone from Tempest. *sigh*

At the beginning, on wet, this was a very cloying sweet grass smell. Now it's a warm musky scent of animals and grass and a sweet floral, but wildflower. Somehow it makes me think of my in-laws place which is a farm out by the MD/PA border - they have huge acres of farm and there is a brook nearby. It makes me think of spring there with the buttercups and the daffodils out, deer in the woods and just grass in the wind. Unfortunately, the sweet aspect is a little too much for me to handle. Very evocative though.
