I have to say that the sugar cane is fairly prominent with my skin chemistry in this blend. This is like a sugary, incensey version of Snake Oil. More resinous, sweeter version of Snake Oil. If S.O. is your type of scent, I would say that I quite like the sweeter version in Temple Viper. S.O. and I have never gotten along, but this is still quite nice.

Dust, incense, wet tobacco, and a curl of opium smoke. Wow, this has to be one of the driest BPALs I've ever tried. On me this is dust and tobacco. Old frankincense and smokiness. It's fairly masculine. I can see this being worn by a cowboy, despite the lack of 'western' feel to it - it has to do with the dust and tobacco that I tend to associate with cowboys... ETA: to add description.

This is figgy amber. It's slightly sweet, slightly musky. But it's pretty much fig and amber. It's pretty tasty, but the amber goes a leeetle powdery on me. If you love figs, you have to try this.

Oh man, this is a vaguely watery aquatic kind of floral - but then it becomes this tobacco/coconut dominated suntan oil. With lilac perfume sprayed on it. This is basking on the beach with suntan lotion and lilacs on your skin. Yeah, so not me.

I got the spicy woods on this, instead of the fabulous chai that everyone speaks off. Very spicy and resiny. Not my kind of blend, but definitely delicious!

I love this nail polish. I like how its an understated pink. Very demure and very classy. It's safe for work. But the glimmer and golden sheen that strikes it is *very* pretty and just adds an unexpected flash to it. Loving it. It's very sheer, so two-three coats are necessary. Very impressed on the quality. Definitely can't wait until Midnight on the Midway arrives. Woo.

This is one of the strangest BPAL smells ever. On me, this smells like some sort of basil curry. Spicy and savory. Erm. Yeah.

This one was an incensey papery kind of blend, very dark and smokey. Not my kind of blend.

This is one is a very watery kind of chocolate. I definitely see the hazelnut aspect come out. However, it fades really quickly. I imagine that using a chocolate scented lotion beforehand will increase the staying power of this. It also seems like the kind of scent that would layer well. Very yummy though.

Oh man, you guys are making me want to hunt down more Crawdad. Personally, it's about Crawdad, Spellbound and Hollywood Babylon.

I get the saffron sandalwood vanilla dreaminess. But the 'cream' aspect has the general burnt plastic tone that I've come to associate with the cream component. For someone else's skin chemistry this would be delectable, and I can see why people are crazy about it. It just doesn't work for me.

This smells like nail polish remover in the little vial. SAD. And on application, its got this burnt rose/lilac sort of smell. The burnt aspect mellows. And it's a soft sugary rose/lilac smell. Yeah, so not me.

This is dirty, woody patchouli and menthol. I thought it would be boring - but it's not. I like how the menthol curls and wisps around the dirt/wood notes, so that it's a light breath on it. Out of all the RG scents I've tried, this one I most closely associate to protection. It literally screams, I have a purpose and I can save your life, you fool. Scent-wise, it's not a perfume. But if I were wearing protective magicks, I'd totally use this one.

On first, this is an incense with a clean metallic note. As it dried, I got more of the resin aspect. After half an hour, I get the beeswax coming through and it sweetens the blend quite a bit. This is a comfortable, woody kinda scent. I'm surprised at how much I enjoy this. Perhaps I've been playing too much FFXII related games, but it makes me think of an airship - with the wood and the metal and the magical technology. I don't think this is something I would wear often. The scent is gorgeous, and it's very soothing but it doesn't seem all that wearable to me. On the other hand, this would be a killer room scent. ETA: My brain finally came up with it. It's metal made flesh. Love the smell, couldn't wear it as perfume. And the concept, blows me away.

Oh man, what a morpher! This one was very dirty, musky with a slight overlay of roses on wet. The dirt and roses basically evaporate into some sort of fruity, slightly musky amber. And then as it continued to dry, the fruity aspect disappears and I get some sort of complex ambery, slightly sweet incense. Say it with me, OMGWTHBBQ. Seriously. I mean, first off, not a huge fan of dirt or roses. Roses in particular tend to dominate a blend for me. And to find out that they virtually disappear, is kinda amazing. The person I swapped for was very generous when she sent me some QoC, so I think I'll go spread the love. Yes, love.

Ah, for me this is fir needles and icy white florals. I don't get the citrus/grapefruit angle at all. We used a goodly amount in the bath - and it was like winter rising up to meet you. It's chilly (not cold) but rather the cold, glittery chill that you get right after it snows. What I smelled most prominently were the fir and the white florals. A little goes a long way. Very fragrant, very moisturizing. And this morning, the scent still lingered. Love it.

Best BPALs for SUMMER - is it hot, sweltering, sticky outside?

Earth Rat, Fire Pig and Crawdad Dreams. Best juicy fruit summery scents! -
This was aggressively wintergreen, pine and masculine. It was dark and brooding. If these are woods, it's got a definite feel to them. It's kinda spooky, kinda creepy and it's definitely a male entity whose doing the haunting. Boo.

Fig leaf, patchouli, black tea, and bonfire smoke. This one is definitely autumn - the falling leaves, the smokyness, the dry sort of spicy kind of air. I enjoy it because it's nonsweet and nonfloral. It's crisp, a little chilly. It's like looking outside and knowing that its time to bust our your favorite wool sweater. Oh yeah.
-
Ah Tupapau - you smell lovely - white blossoms, not too lush, not too sweet, breezy and in general, very tropical without being in your face. And then you disappear. You have no idea what kind of pain this causes me. I was so excited. All the others were so aggressive with their leis and their fizzy drinks and their suntan soaked perfume - and here you are, a breath of natural fresh florals, and then you're gone. Oh Hawaii, you break my heart.

Man, this one is so... dirty. But it's forest dirt. I get a very heavy pine and juniper from this. It's like standing in a muddy pine forest. Not my kind of scent, but wow.

This is definitely a golden scent. Not like liquid sunshine, but more the warmth of a sunray has been bottled up. It's golden, gloriously warm and resiny, and honeyed. It's like watching the sunlight through this drop of honey. I agree with the comparison of a softer and more complex O. It's much more than that, but the amber is just slightly, oh so slightly, powdery on me. But it's really pretty. ... Unfortunately, it makes me hungry. Mmmm. Honey....

On me, this is a salty spray of an aftershave. Masculine, ozoney, sea and just a little soapy. YARR.
-
This is sweet, honey meadish. It was heavily copal at the beginning, an almost juicy plum kinda fruity floral. Now its sweet honey, slightly herbal and oh so delish.

This is a pretty grassy floral, with bubblegum mixed in. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't. It's pretty, fresh and breezy. I just want to find the bubblegum that is ruining my yard and chuck it out though.
