I got the faint whiff of lemon on top of cedar at the beginning, but it has essentially dried to a patchouli/cedar blend, which oddly enough, just smells like dirt. Wet potting dirt. Dirtier than say, Graveyard Dirt. Pass.

Invasion of the Flesh-Eating Reindeer from Uranus

Mmm. Gingerbread cookies with an extra jolt of sugar. This fades on my skin into a faint vanilla cake smell though. I wish it had a longer life span. SAD. -
This one was a sweet pomegranate wine. It actually smelled like there was a bit of cherry and almond in it. I didn't get much of the blood accord in this, which is fine with me. But yeah, sweet pomegranate wine.

Mmmm. Smoky bacon musk. ... Yeah, so not for me.

This smells like rum and dirt. More of an herbal rum than say the butter rum of Grog. It smells like it has a purpose. The kind of stuff you offer up to a deity before you ask for something.
-
This has got to have juniper in it because it smells like spicy gin. ... I know, right? Pass.

This one is a spicy clove cherry, the spiciness due to the dragon's blood resin. It isn't overwhelming as it tends to be. It's actually my favorite DBR blend I think. Which is encouraging, since I'm about to tackle the Ars Draconis line.

I definitely got the initial fruity blast with huge lychee overtones on top of the lavender. All of that calms down and it's a nice lychee/lavender blend with a bitter, herbal edge to it. RATS.

I think the baby powder is too much for me... and this smells like a pretty baby, very floral, very powdery. Not overwhelmed. I guess me and babies aren't a good match.

This one is a nice, dark pine/fir blend that isn't too Christmassy. The associations in this blend --- I think given the dirt and moss notes, is more of a dark Eastern European forest. The kind that houses things that go bump in the night. It has enough of airiness and a touch of sweetness to make it a nice wintery blend without any holiday connotations. That dark, snow, trees and infinite air.

JASMINE OF DOOM. This is the fabled apocalyptic Jasmine that destroys everything. Including nose hairs. And strikes fear in the hearts of everyone. [Hyperbole aside - this is dirty, musky jasmine. Jasmine to the 10th degree]. I tremble in fear. And hold my nose not to smell.

This one is a very citrus floral. I definitely get the plumeria, but it isn't as intense as in other blends (I'm looking at you Thalia!). I sort of enjoy how it's got this bright citrus edge, you can smell the plumeria, and something incensey in the background. It smells kinda of exotic, and I think I smell the jungle blooms which is a counterbalance to the plumeria giving it a slightly bitter, white floralness to the blend. Very nice. And yes, it does make me think of Mexico.

Oh, this is plumeria and pear making sticky sweet love. Because this is a giant sweet plumeria floral. Like candy sweet. Pass.

Warm red wine spiced with cinnamon sticks, cardamom, vanilla beans, honey, clove, lemon and orange rind, bay leaf, and honey. Wooo. Strong, boozy, spicy wine. And really sweet. Kinda like a dessert wine. Mmm. Tasty.
-
Vanilla licorice. I get the anise and the vanilla... and it smells pretty yummy... but the vanilla is one of the types that goes to plastic on my skin chemistry. Other than that, it was this licorice candy. SAD that it didn't work out.

It's been a while since I've tried Embalming Fluid - and I agree with the crisp lemon comparison. Definitely masculine. This one is a nice bright chypre - less 'heavy' than Pollution, but in the same vein. Brighter, crispier, more lemony. I'm going to introduce Herbert to my husband and see if they get along...
-
This one is a heavy jasmine and myrrh blend, with just a drop of rose. Unfortunately, I get the dreaded cat pee from the sharp jasmine, so I'm going to have to pass on this blend.

I Fell in Love with a Floating Brain

GAH! On me, this totally smells like Monsterbait: Closet, only more strawberry. With Closet, I get a very 'strawberry' like scent and rich creamy cake with icing. This is strawberries and icing and cake. And while I get the tinge of strawberry lip gloss, it's still mighty tasty. Mmmm. Once my Closet is gone, now I know what to pick up! -
Have you been bad or good? Santa has sharpened his candy canes, and he's got his eye on you! Gore-splattered snow, chimney smoke, and bloody, broken peppermint sweets. I think the 'smoke' that has the industrial vibe. It was a minty, sort of smokey blend that now smells like toilet cleaner on me. BOOOOOO.
-
Oh man, I got sweet coal dustyness and cedar in the background. I'm not entirely sure what to make of it. It's warm, it's definitely Bah! Humbug! and very Christmassy in that sense... but I'm not sure I like it. ... I'll have to test again!

Okay so this morphed from a salty ozone floral to something that old ladies wear. Something sweet and powdery and lilac... and something that smells like old ladies. ... Yeah... ... No.
-
This one is indeed bitter coffee with a shot of cocoa... and for me I think the whisky makes this blend a little buttery. It's too bitter for me, but I imagine a nice sweet vanilla would do wonders for this blend! *plot plot*

This one was lighter than I expected - I got the myrrh and herbs. However, on the drydown, it smells like herby plastic. Pass.
-
It's dirty pencil shavings and rose cologne. Sad.
-
This one is a pretty, minty violet floral. I get a hint of roses in the background and a sandalwood base. As it dries, the florals burn off and I get more of the sandalwood base. Pass.
