This definitely has vetiver in it as I get that smoky bacon bit from it, as well as something that smells truly unpleasant on me. Like rotting gardenias/wet wool sort of unpleasant (which might just be the gardenia!) EW.

The Thunderbolt of Indra, The Hand of Brahma The Four-Petaled Lotus. Security, stability, courage, manifestation, survival. Muladhara is the root of all matter, the basis of physical existence. Through this chakra, you draw down spiritual energy and cause it to take physical form. In this chakra, the three primary psychic channels materialize. Within Muladhara, sleeps the Coiled Snake, your spiritual potential, and here it remains, sleeping, until you arouse and it work to bring it back to Brahman. All of your samskaras take physical form in this chakra. Hmmm. The strongest notes are vetiver, patchouli, hint of cedar, and I get some pretty strong ginger from this. The only problem - there is nothing sweet in this blend to balance all of these elements on me, so I end up getting something sharp and savory smelling. Probably good for meditation, but not as a perfume!

Okay, for you gals that are missing DeSade, this might be a good substitute for it if you can handle vetiver. Despite the smoky (slightly baconny, but that happens if a blend has copious amounts of vetiver) vetiver, the leather here takes the forefront. Black, shiny, sleek (although slightly chemically on me). This is the black leather note from DeSade, tempered by vetiver and a hint of metal. Too masculine for me, and leather notes are an even worse evil for mr. zee_zee, so pass...

Clean white floral - on me, it kinda smells like soap. I get hints of grass/grenness, but it pretty much smells like fresh linen. I think given the semi-aquatic fresh feel of this, that it has cucumber as a component. I don't do well with BPAL's linen note, so I'll have to pass.

Whoo. This is a softer version of Tempest. Which means, I get a decent dollop of ozone, and soft white floral, which I am assuming is the olibanum. Pretty, in a clean, fresh sort of way.

Slightly more aquatic Samhain - it's got many of the same components. It's less smoky, but its got the dried leaves, slightly dirty, and I swear the sweetness actually makes me think of raisins. Something in this blend reminds me to raisins. ETA: In the prototype, it is much more foodie. I get a big caramel hit from it, and when it dries, it goes powdery. I am thinking more sandalwood.

Yup, yup. I can see this being like the Emathides, it's got that dusty (why hello clean patchouli), musky kinda purple blend. I get a faint whiff of red chili on the drydown. The benzoin makes it warm, the vanilla adds a touch of sweetness. Not my kind of blend, but very well crafted indeed.

Okay, this has hints of aquatic, green musk, and motor oil in it. Actually, the motor oil may be a hint of leather, since it just smells chemically and noxious to me. Utter fail with my skin chemistry.

Okay, so this one starts as a pretty resinous/sandy blend, and dries down to the same sandalwood as in Jingo Kogo. Whereas JK had that citrus bit going on, this one is the sweet, powdery, sandalwood underneath. There's also another note in there I can detect, slightly herbalish and masculine, but I can't quite place it. This is the JK for guys.

I agree with the barn assessment - it smells like leather and hay and a touch of resin.
-
I get mostly clean musk and dusty sandalwood. If there's leather in this, I don't get any. Which is a small miracle.

Yum! This one has a strong lemongrass on wet, and dries to a pleasant lemony floral. Tasty.

Gah. Lotus, and cedar. And hints of ylang ylang, patchouli, and maybe jasmine So mainly bubblegum and pencil shavings, which a whole bunch of florals that I don't like. UGH.

Three Jacks on me wet is delicious. It's got a strong apple/apple blossom note to it, and it kinda makes me think of Lamb's Wool, minus the milk. As it dries however, there's an almost 'motor oil' tinge to it. Despite it all, the only offputting thing I find about this blend is its rarity.
-
This floral def. has some sweetness to it. It's light, sweet and girly.
-
Okay so at the beginning there was a fruity vibe to it - but the lotus pretty much takes over and its this sticky sweet bubblegum mess of a blend. It actually makes me feel kinda ill...
-
On wet, this has the hard slap of mint (perhaps peppermint), and dries almost entirely to anise. It's slightly herbal, slightly sweet, and reminds me to the old horehound candies actually, in that it has almost a root beer vibe to it.... except loads of anise in it.

Oh, Poe, you are not for me. I get some really bad leather from you, and yes, its the same sort of bad leather from Sacrifice. Synthetic and uberstrong. I get a hint of bergamot, gin and dirty patchouli over some plasticky leather. For which I am thankful. As you are a rare being. Too rare for the likes of me.

Ah Trevor. You are manly cologne and sweet clove, bundled together. There is a hint of rum around the edges, and the cologne has green musk, as it shares certain similar qualities to Pollution... but I get a lot of sweet clove out of the incense. Not to my taste and mr. zee_zee is not fond of cloves...

This turns to dryer sheets on me (which I think the released version of EM did as well...) So um... I think there's some grapefruit in this, def. a white floral, a touch of gardenia and something else. But overall, the impression is of nice, fresh, clean... dryer sheets.

This starts with a giant burst of lemon (hello!) and then I get lilac. The lilac is soft and pretty... but dries to soap on me. Lilac soap. There you have it. ETA: From a super aged bottle - on wet its definitely lemonish, which makes me suspect lemon balm as opposed to lemon itself. There's a whiff of lilacs, and it dries down to a soft, very cuddly scent.
-
Agreed with the herbal cologne assessment, mixed with leather and yes, blood and that trace of cumin that gives it an almost peppery edge. I might give this a whirl on mr. zee_zee, as it is strangely compelling...
-
Okay, so this is a white perfumey floral. On me, it's like a battle of gardenias and lilies, and the gardenia goes evil --- with a hint of wet wool and the overall impression is yes, hairspray. Pass.
-
This one def. has rose. It's a soft musky/amber blend with rose throughout. The rose is kinda sharp and cologney on me and makes me think yellow rose, as opposed to the fullbodied red rose variety. There's almost something 'jealous' about this blend. In fact, its the kind of blend a woman who has been scorned and is now going about her revenge plans would wear. That's my impression. I amp up rose notes, so others may get a different vibe/feel from this. So yes, good throw and longevity.

Okay, so on wet, I got a slap of lemongrass, and part of this kinda reminds me to the Ifrit/Sekhmet, and the other sandy/Egyptian based blends. It's got musk, (possibly green, as it got the manly cologne vibe to it), lemongrass/lemon, maybe white musk, and something else that makes it dark/sandy/gritty. I agree that its a 'darker' blend - despite the almost aquatic overtone it has. I am definitely amping up the musk in this one. Very manly.
