    Mr. Vandemar

I get a very masculine blend - with black sandalwood, black pepper and something musky. Just a touch of metal that livens it up. But in general, very hulking, very bruising.

    Mountain of Bone

Oooh! Fruity white wine spritzer. It's fun, fresh, fruity and light. It ends up a little too sweet on me, and I think this may have some lychee.

    Doll's Eye Infused Honey

Doll's eye infused honey. Bitter marigolds and honey. BAAAH.

    Boomslang v2

Agreed with all the reviewers above. The chocolate is less intense, and much more of the milk chocolate kind. The Snake Oil definitely dominates for me, and it has more vanilla than spice for me. I am not a huge fan of sweet blends or Snake Oil but I found this more wearable than the released version.

    Lamia

This one is a lovely dark peach, that is ruined for me by the coconut, which is unfortunately going to plastic on me. SAAD.

    Clermont

Honey sweet opium and slightly sour rose powder. The opium in this is glorious, and I think I may actually be an opium fan. Hmmm.

    Spicebush Swallowtail

This smells like maple syrup to me. The brown sugar is seeming to beat everything else into submission. Which makes me sad, since I was hoping for some plum/clove goodness from this.

    Paper Kite

So on wet it is definitely COCONUT. The kind that you find in suntan lotion. It dries to a more realistic coconut, with pinches of sugar and pepper. The pepper really grounds this blend on my skin. I am still not a coconut fan but I find the drydown more bearable than on wet.

    Ghoul Hooligan

This really reminds me to the April 07 13 blend. I get chocolate and loads of chai tea spices. I would even go to say that the lager is made with OATS as opposed to traditional hops because I get a powdery/oatmeal smell underneath the chocolate and chai tea spices. Yummy, but it makes me ultra hungry.

    Panther Moon

Dark gleaming champaca, musk and something spicy. It reminds me alot of Schwarzer Mond. Slightly masculine, dark spicy musk.

    Yew Berry Infused Honey

Green! I definitely get the berry on wet, and as it dries, I get more of the cinnamon and clove. This smells like cinnamon clove honey. Pretty, but not my type at all.

    Hemlock Honey

Hemlock to me smells very similar to what Little Bird says: sage-like notes and medicinal eucalyptus. It's strong, but honey is also a strong note on my skin. It's like an herbal menthol honey, so yes, it does smell medicinal. In the background I get the tiniest smidge of something that smells spicy - sort of like all spice. Unfortunately, the honey is the type that smells like funk on me. Boo.

    ICD23

This is sweet green grass (same note as in Green Party) and a good bit of lemon balm in it because it has a bright lemon note that holds on my skin and is yet slightly herby. It does have the same 'airy' note as Host of Air. Smells fresh, green with slight muskiness. I feel its slightly masculine, and for those guys that like chypre type blends.

    IXHV4

IXHV4 is definitely coffee - I get loads of roasted coffee. It's darker and less sweet than the one in Misk U, definitely lighter and sweeter than the one in Bah! I think it may have a drop of cream in it because there is just a tiny whiff of plastic to it. Strong, sweet, very unisex. I can see why this is so coveted, even if I don't find it personally wearable.

    Belshazzaz v3

I think Belshazzaz actually has some blueberry in it - because on wet, it kinda reminds me to blueberry sweet tarts. I've found out that BPAL's blueberry smells more like blueberry candy than actual, fresh blueberries (sort of the way grape candy, well doesn't really resemble real grapes at all but we associate it with grape anyway). As it dries, I get more of the red wine, clove and I would say also some cassia. I'm not a red wine/booze girl, but the addition of the spices makes this mighty tasty!

    The Volstead Act

I get a lot of pineapple on wet, but it dries to a super boozey cherry scent. Not my type of deal, but if you can handle booze, this one is a sweet one to try out!

    CD: Fire Dancer v9

I have to say that Mum Moon didn't work for me - but I do smell cinnamon, opium, perhaps a hint of clove and plum as well and vetiver. I find this more wearable than Mum Moon, which was incredibly bitter on me. But there is a trace of bitterness there that does make me think of chrysanthemums. It's is a 'firey' blend and yes, I do think feathers as well. It's a very very interesting blend.

    The Anti-Saloon League

Sasparilla and plastic cream. Unfortunately the BPAL note turns to plastic on me. It does smell like vanilla cream plastic though. I bet this smells delicious on the right skin chemistry.

    Gun Moll

Given the jasmine and gunpowder in the description, I was a little worried about this. However, OMG! Gun Moll to me smells like Voodoo Queen's little sister. They share the same base for me (smoky, skin musk, clove) but Gun Moll is a little 'springier' because of the jasmine and the swirl of fruit. The drydown actually turns into VQ + honey (but the honey isn't obnoxious because it's honeycomb - honey can be a totally aggrressive note on my skin). I've worn it for a few days at a time, and that's only happened rarely with scents that I really really enjoy. I really do believe I may be getting along with opium poppy, but I'd have to look at my spreadsheet of notes to double check. For me, the jasmine is pretty strong on wet, but it dissipates. I don't really get any gunpowder (which I got in spades with Agnes Nutter). I have a decant that I'm using at the minute, and have secured a bottle. Yes, I love it that much. The length of this review should also be an indication, since my reviews have become pretty short these days.

    Common Jezebel

This one is fruity apricot. The apricot being the fruit that stands out the most. I get the tiniest hint of coconut. Very spring like.

    Monarch

I got LOADS of sugar cane from this (it actually smelled like caramel to me) and amber. Pretty and sweet.
  22. zankoku_zen

    The Marquis de Carabas

A splash of bay rum, leather, dusty black wool, massoia bark, and opium residue. Rum, clove and leather. And something that smells like coconut. It's warm, masculine but there's a hint of danger and mystery there. In other words, what a guy should smell like.

    Lotus Moon 2010

Holy moley. So I get a TON of pomegranate from this. Huh, I am thinking that pom is one of those notes that likes to bloom on my skin. It doesn't last past the first hour though, and I get a woody dark base. Interesting. I have to say I am gratified by the lack of bubblegum despite lotus being there.

    Loli.Goth

Loli.goth was a surprise to me - it's a BPAL strawberry that works! It's really strawberries and cream to me. It's young, girlish and delicious. It still ends up being too sweet to my liking, but it was more wearable and likeable on my skin chemistry than I expected.
  25. zankoku_zen

    Alana Patel

GIN! It's a bright, bubbly note with fizz. But yes, GIN to the max with a hint of perfume. It's like Swank, minus the pomegranate.
