TX30 is a bit hard to pin down. I get a hint of cherry, almond, sandalwood and perhaps a touch of vanilla. It dries down to an almost almond powder, and slightly spicy. Very soft, low throw. Definitely a skin scent.

This one is interesting - I get something resinous (probably myrrh), a hint of amber, some lemongrass or maybe bamboo which gives it a very clean edge, some cinnamon and a whiff of plum. Serket is allover the place for me. It's like a hot desert. Or rather, more like looking at a hot desert from the coolness of an oasis. Yes, it can be cruel out there, but you're okay because for some lucky reason, you've got water, shade and some cool fruit to munch on.

Hexahedraon is like a deathmatch between rose and pink carnations. At the beginning, rose seems dominant. On the drydown, carnation definitely is. Somewhere in the middle however, I think I detect a whiff of red bell peppers. Yes, like the Cicada Yule scent whose name I can't remember at the moment... Yeah, not for me.

Sweet grassy note, sugared incense or something foodie. I see other reviewers get cotton candy from it, but for me its more along the sugared note that you find on Midnight on the Midway. It's slightly too foodie for me, and I don't find the grass/sugary stuff I can see this being popular though.

Female Nude, Three-Quarter Length, Beside Her Left an Apple Tree
zankoku_zen replied to AnArtfuldodger's topic in Lupercalia
For me, this was essentially soft rose and apple. I tend to amp up rose, so I am not surprised. The apple note and rose combination is reminiscent to certain Rose Red variations, making the rose very fresh. Not my type of blend, but very pretty. I can also see this being appropriate for a young, teenage girl. -
Kypris is honey, vanilla, rose and cherry sugar. In some ways, this is a sweeter, more feminine than Sleeping Nymphs. As it dries, I seem to amp up the cherry and sugar notes, and it reminds me more at this stage to Sugar Plum Fairy, but with cherry instead. Too sweet for me.

Wrestlers smells of saffron, wood, rum and a hint of vetiver. It gets sweeter as it dries, as I get more of the rum and musks. Slightly masculine, but with the sweetness, I can see a woman pulling this off too. Perhaps I need to re-check Grog afterall...

Wild woods, Bulgarian rose, tolu balsam, vanilla absolute, ambergris, honey, and vanilla. Sleeping Nymphs was all about the honey and the vanilla. On wet, I got a hint of woods, a hint of honey, a hint of vanilla and maybe a peek of rose. As it dried, both the vanilla and especially the honey amped up. Now, I knew I amped up honey but this was a bit crazy. Still, more delicious than predicted if you like honey.

Yes, I can see the Glowing Vulva comparisons. Sweet, creamy vanilla, with honey/beeswax and a soft wood underneath. Very feminine, and yes softly sexual. I am amping up the honey bits, but I can see why people would go crazy over this one.

OMG - I am amping up the clove in this blend. It's the same sweet clove SN note present in Saqqara v2, but this one is drier and with a hint of root beer to it that lends it a little sweetness. It's somewhat dusty and dry. Good throw, medium wear length.

Cardamom and leather. I can see how this is popular, as this is a feminine, sultry scent... if you can wear leather. Sadly, leather is not for me. This a weird mix of chemically leather and worn leather, sweetened by cardamom and spice. But still, a leather scent.

Creamy vanilla, hints of almond and tonka. The vanilla is the kind that doesn't always play well with my skin.
-
I get whiffs of pine, white flowers, lemon blossoms and vanilla orchids. To me, this smells like a less fruity version of the released Lola. It's got definitely a heady orchid vibe to it. Lovely, but not at all like the released version.

I get soft, creamy vanilla, a hint of sassafras/rootberr and a good dollop of powderiness on the drydown. For fans of Antique Lace, I'd highly recommend trying this.
-
Dry sweet clove. I get the amber on the drydown. It's almost like the sweet clove SN except the amber softens it up a little. I can see this being very attractive on the right guy.

Thanks to a generous forumite for a sniffie of this. You know who you are, and I love you! On wet, there is a strong menthol/medicinal overtone to this. It dries down to something resinous, and the color of the oil is dark orangey red, which makes me think that perhaps dragon's blood is a component. There is also some vetiver in this, because it as a gritty, smokiness to it. I also catch a whiff of leather.

Thanks to a generous forumite for a sniffie of this. You know who you are, and I love you! Threnody v3 has a very clean, amber smell. Touch of white florals, I would guess orris and maybe tuberose. There's almost something powdery on the drydown, which may be the type of amber being used.

Thanks to a very generous forumite for a sniffie of this. You know who you are and I love you! Again, echoing the previous review - this is a sweet, delicate floral. Hint of violet, freesia, perhaps some orchid. It definitely had more of a lemon tinge on wet that burned off. And a slight vanilla musk on the drydown. Very, very pleasant and wearable.

Thanks to a very generous forumite for a sniffie of this. You know who you are and I love you! Definitely milk chocolate and butterscotch, slightly salty - and very apropos for a Box of Chocolate scent. It's a little too foodie for me, but it smells delicious!

Veronica is oddly a delicate floral. I get hints of lily and iris, and splash of oakmoss and blackcurrant on the drydown. It smells like some truly refined soap.
-
Ninon on me is smoky vanilla musk and hay. It sort of reminds me to being next to a horse. I think it's the hay. The vanilla musk is more musky than vanilla. As it dries, I get tinges of amber and lavender. Mmm. Not for me.

Oh Kitty. BPAL's strawberry note just won't work with my skin chemistry. It is sweet and plasticky and oh so fake. So this ends up smelling like vanilla and plastic strawberries... which is just like a Barbie doll smell. It also has a heavy 'cakey' undertone to it. Sad little Kitty.

Celeste to me smells like a better version of Morocco, which probably explains the popularity. Pretty vanilla and a good bit of saffron, which to me smells like the exotic spices in Morocco. But yes, a more vanilla Morocco. Tasty. Esp. if you like/love Morocco.

Bitter, smoky fig and carnation. I think between the carnation and the vetiver they cut down on the fruity aspect of fig, and the carnation lends a certain powderiness to the blend. Good bit of nutmeg on the drydown. More wearable than what I would have given it credit for.

Frankincense and leather. The leather accord is more along the lines of DeSade, although less harsh and synthetic. It softens considerably on the drydown but this is essentially an all leather scent on me. Pass.
