I have been extremely fortunate in receiving a tester of this single note, which was offered as a prize from a contest run by Chumley the Ogre circa 2005. I have to say that the SN has aged well. It smells like a date, but more floral and it actually brings to mind 'figs' to me. It's not necessarily fruity or foodie, but more of the fruit-floral variety. Kinda sweet, and very wearable.

Honey, pom, myrrh and plum. This is a fruity honey scent that mellows to a honey and myrrh scent. Very close to the skin, very sexy. For all you honey lovers, don't miss out on this one!

Chamomile, something green, hints of something that occasionally smells like freesia, and perhaps a touch of honeysuckle (which means on me this sort of smells like hair spray). Underneath, there is perhaps a hint of coconut skin, as I get a mild suntan lotion vibe underneath.

Lavender, hint of fruit (plum, I think), and lotus... as I get the dreaded bubblegum note. I think there might be some cedarwood and potentially some myrrh in it, as it has a somewhat resinous grounding in the drydown. It's a little too sweet, a little too fruity. Interesting, but not for me.

This does have vetiver in it, not the same kind that dark as the Haitian Vetiver SN 2012. It has hints of cedar... and sandalwood. There's a hint of floral menthol to it. This actually reminds me a little to the original Capricorn 2004. Although the reason that I love Capricorn 2004 is vetiver smells like grapefruit for me. I actually sort of enjoy this. Vetiver lovers, take note. I find this to be a very soft, kinda cuddly vetiver that smells dark and woody. No crazy smoke. Or bacon.

I think I may have to try this again since it was very faint and light on me. I got neroli, apple blossom, and then it dissipated. There's slight sandalwood left... But yeah, my skin just ate this up. ETA: Okay, so this time, I put a little more on. On wet, I get the neroli, apple blossom and the vanilla orchid. It's sweet, slightly sour and an odd combination on my skin. It dries to a vanilla orchid with a hint of sandalwood to it. The drydown I find almost makes up for the weirdness on wet, but not quite. The vibe however reminds me to Miss Jenny or Miss Ida, from the NYCC blends.

I have to say Frank Burns to me, has the same vibe as Badgers. It's a splash of rum, and lots of sweet tobacco. This is the masculine version of Badgers. Fabulous.

Autumn Lace, you are such a conundrum. I barely get, if at all, any linen notes. So you smell like spilled tea, leaves, and some sort of musk. ... Yeah, that's it. Tea, leaves and some smoky sweetness. Utterly bland, and very forgettable on me.

Dark pine, hints of amber, citrus, menthol and men's cologne. In some ways, this smells like a darker Snow Moon (less snow, more pine forest, crank up the evil in the dead of a winter's night a few notches). Pine, masculine, dark.

Warm, buttery pumpkin that dries down to a sweet vanilla with hints of pumpkin, and touches of sweet clove. I can see WHY so many people love this. This is nice, in a sweet, foodie sort of way.

Wool, dark resins and pitch. It smells sort of like FOREST, FIRE, EARTH, MAN. (yes, all in capslock). There's something almost 'sweet' to the smoky aspect of it all. In fact, this is one awesome smelling Druid. The kind that you wouldn't mind having sex with during some pagan holiday, outside by a fire, in the middle of a forest, against an oak tree. Because you know he's magic. And it's going to be a magical time. So, resinously dark, slight wool (like the faint wool smell of a REAL wool sweater) comfiness, and smoky sweetness.

Herbal piney resin that dries down to a smooth, sandalwood-type powder. It sort of makes me think of cedar at times. Very intense. Woody, sandalwood, powdery.

So this starts of as a strong cucumber/basil oil (and it even smells oily) as opposed to water. There's something that smells almost bitter to me. On wet however, the cucumber/basil aspect of it is amazing.

Cinnamon powder. That's what this smells like. Cinnamon + baby powder.

Bay rum, honey, hints of wood and vanilla. You know, I think this one you could ACTUALLY wear without need of any other thing layered on it. It's got a touch of spice, slightly foodie, and a nice slightly masculine base.

Ah, this one does really make me think Ice Queen, the male version. It's got that same slushy sweet snow note that Monastery in the Mountains, Cloister Graveyard in the Snow and Ice Queen have. It's got pine, and menthol (esp. on wet) and berries. It smells like a male ice forest fairy. ... OR in Game of Thrones references... this smells like the Others. Icy, snowy, stark landscapes, brittle, frozen pine forests, and blood red berries. Winter is coming. ... (in both senses...) Ohhhhhhh yeahhhhhhh.

I used this on my hair over Thanksgiving Break (wore it to Thanksgiving) and it was FANTASTIC. Fresh almost floral fig, and hints of delicate sandalwood. It's very understated, and has a tremendous STAYING power. Hands down, my favorite hair gloss.

So on wet, there's this sweet caramel scent with a shot of rum in it. It dries to a soft, almond/vanilla with just a splash of rum. Sweet, slightly foodie, slightly boozy.

#17 Buttery cookie, a la Sugar Cookie. If you had asked me to test this without giving me a scent name/description, I would have said that this was Sugar Cookie.

CLERIC Rose amber, frankincense, myrrh, champaca flower, Peru balsam, cistus, palisander, cananga, hyssop, and narcissus absolute. This review is for the prototype of Cleric. Still resinous, and this one has a slight peppery edge which actually turns out to be cedar on the drydown. I think there's also some dragon's blood resin in it, since the color of the oil is slightly reddish. But yeah, resinous, slightly woody, and kinda spicy. Very different from the released version. I actually enjoy both types of Cleric - released and unreleased. And uhh... that just sounded dirty.

LEATHER! For me, this is a softer black leather than DeSade, (black rather than brown because of the 'steel'/metallic component to it), and slight spicyness which I imagine is the 'blood' component. Warmer than DeSade, a little harder edged than Mastermind (whichever the Grendel blend is that is ultra-leather). Not my type of blend at all, but if you enjoy leather...

Texture: hard candies, made the old fashioned way. Meaning: you have to suck on these. ALOT. Autumn Cider: Apple cider, hints of cinnamon and allspice, light citrus blush. I found this pleasant, but the flavor was a little muted. Ghoulish: Very strong almond/amaretto and coconut, and then cherries. It's sweet, but with a hint of saffron. Enjoyed this much more than Autumn Cider. Blue Pumpkin Floss: Pumpkin, cotton candy and blackberry. Complex, sweet without being too sweet, and pretty strong. Out of the three, I have to say that Ghoulish was the strongest in flavor, but none of the candies were so sweet that you were sick of the taste before they were gone.

Sand, bamboo, opium tar, oudh. This is a warm, woody base that contrasts with some cool wispy top notes. Odd, warm, cool.

Spice, tea, amber and a hint of leather. The tea note is pretty strong, and its very well blend and unusual. Tiny hint of licorice. Warm, spicy, tea.
