this one smelled weird from the imp, wet it smells very similar to verbana. then it dries to something very pleasant which i assume to be a combination of milk and ginger. verbana is still there, but in the background. i do agree that it's very light, and tends to fade very quickly. i would probably go through my imp very quickly! if only it was stronger and lasted longer!

My nose must be getting more used to smelling BPAL scents, however I still am unable to detect the rum, leather and gunpowder notes. How exactly does sarsaparilla smell like? Must sniff more and *buy more* Very Aquatic, and also comforting blend. First thought was melon, both in imp and on wet. There is something flowery about this on skin, reminds me of some flower I cannot put to name.... It can be described as salt air, yet not so close to it. Do I sound confusing? Warm, but not too warm, and the scent is not too strong. Makes me feel a bit like slathering it on Something in this makes me associated Mary Read with masculinity, but I do not exactly find it an overly masculine scent. A wonderful, wearable scent and my current favourite!

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

Thank you so much Ahania! I will try both of them once I managed to get my hands on them -
This doesn't work for me. I'm not very good at describing the notes wet, I would say it was a mixture of the listed scents. However when dry, I get a smoky incensy scent, unlike that of Athens, this is a bright smoky scent.

I have recently fell for L'Occitane Cherry Blossom EDT. Listed notes from their site: • Top notes: Cherry, Freesia, Blackcurrant • Heart notes: Cherry blossom, Lily of the valley • Base notes: Rosewood, Amber, Musk This is their new-er scents so this may be a bit difficult. I usually really dislike the smell of Cherries, especially for those which smell like cough medicine, but Cherry Blossom seems to be the only odd one out. Aside to that I am also partial to The Body Shop Spa Wisdom Africa Spa range. Is anyone is able to recommend something similar I can try out for these 2 (Other than Kyoto because I am so going to try that!)? Oh and I absolutely have to agree with Shanghai and L'Occitane lemon Verbena range! -
This is my second time applying Paris, the first with me not knowing what was it supposed to smell like, but now since I have gotten a better idea.. First whiff, whoa, lavender! Upon applying: Lavender fades in a zip. Where is the spice, more specifically, where did that wonderful lavender go? All that is left is what I assume to be lotus.. And that's it. Slightly floral. Wear: Not noticable, as I forgotten I had it on once I was out of my place. I would say this is too lotus-y for my taste, but it does deserve another try, just to observe how the scent develops after half an hour to an hour.

*Edit* On second try, Athens smells completely different from the first. Wine was extremely distinct from the imp, to application, dry-down and all the way until I washed it off. Like the previous review, the scent is still very smoky with quite a strong throw. Honey, sweet flowers, I could detect them, just that they were really covered by the wine. I took a sniff after some "exercise" and quite some hours late, I got *urgh* stale cigar. Granted that the scent was supposed to be wine, just that to me... It smelt more like stale cigar than wine to me. This needs getting used to.
