In the Imp: Mmm, delicious berries! Wow, that's so nice. Super sweet but still tangy. It smells the way sangria looks, if that makes sense. Wet: Hmm, reminiscent of Strawberry Moon 09, if you can believe that. Yummy berry with a touch of greenery from the poppy and a dash of sweetness from the honey. I'm so surprised that I like this. The throw is insane! Dry: A slightly less sweet SM 09. Very unexpected, but a pleasant surprise. Out of 10: 7

This reminds me of drinking lemonade on the beach! A citric aquatic that is very tangy and bright. I do quite like it, even if it isn't the kind of scent I usually like. A unisex scent with light throw. Lovely; I'll definitely keep my imp.

This is sour soap to me in the imp, wet, and dry on my skin.

I'm sorry guys. I'm sorry to drop the ball on this one, but I can't do. I can't put Czernobog on my skin. It burns my nostrils in the imp, and lingers there long after I've turned away. It smells like industrial strength cleaning fluid, and I just can't take it. I guess I'll just never know..darn.

In the Imp: Whaaaat? Gasoline? Gasoline and grasses. Odd.. I have a feeling that this is going to be masculine. Wet: The same! Tall grasses scorched with gasoline! So, so weird. Dry: A little milder, but still grassy and masculine. I'll prolly pass this on to my brother. Out of 10: 2

2009 Version:In the Bottle: Boozy gingerbread?? So weird! It's almost yeasty, ala Cockaigne. Wet: The same! Oh my, it's quite overwhelming..it makes my throat constrict. Dry: It does smell like a bonfire..but it might be too boozy for me. Ugh. No luck for me today. Out of 10: 2

So excited that I got my bottle of this! Let's see if it works! In the Bottle: Hmm, sweet vanilla with a slight herbal edge. It reminds me of something I've tried before..not sure what. Wet: Bluh. Drink Me. That's it. Oh dear.. It's too herbal, no smoke, no bourbon vanilla..ARGH. The throw smells like a pleasant generic vanilla though. Dry: I smell no vanilla. I am SO sad right now. The chamomile beat the vanilla over the head and stuffed it in a sack. I'll try aging this for a few months to see if the vanilla becomes more prominent. Out of 10: 2, for breaking my heart!

I agree with Sudha Segara 100%. I wear it on job interviews. It's feminine without being girly, clean and creamy with a bit of a bite from the ginger. It's just beautiful, and gives off an aloof, "don't fuck with me" vibe. Very barracuda!

Alright, I'm bumping this thread to ask a question about Click N' Ships. I've never received one with any of the orders I've placed with BPAL; do I need to specifically ask the lab to send me them, or am I doing something wrong? I pay through Paypal.

You know, I actually really like this! I don't like plain Snake Oil, but I still wanted to try one of the snakes (the labels are too gorgeous), and GTV sounded like a safe bet. Initial Sniff from Bottle: A lot of leafy mint. Can't really pinpoint anything else. Wet: Mint, with something a little sweet lingering in the background. I can detect a bit of the bergamot as well. It almost smells like those mint chocolate cookies. Dry: The mint dies down and this becomes a lighter Snake Oil, with a little bit of bergamot and green tea. Very lovely. It has a lot of throw, though the throw smells a little more like a sweet incense then it does on my skin. Still nice though! Out of 10: 8! I'll have to try some more snakes!

I'd love to smell like Creep by Radiohead (the one song that I identify with more then any other, weirdly enough), or Sonne by Rammstein (sex). Well, any Rammstein song really..haha.

I don't really feel like I own any drop-dead sexy blends.. Dorian is close, but it's more haughty and refined, while I want something tousled and sensual. Snake Oil was bad, O just.. smelled like powder. I hate patchouli, boozey notes, and red musk, which seem to be in most of the popular "sexy" BPAL blends. Anyone have any suggestions on something sexxxay that I could try? It could be GC or LE, doesn't matter. I'm a foody lover, some of my favorite notes are vanilla, light musks (skin, white), carnation, beeswax.. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Ugh, I'm so scared to try this.. Rose and cinnamon?! Not exactly two of my favorite scents..quite the opposite, in fact. However, I must try each and every imp that crosses my threshold, so here goes! In the Imp: OH HAI ROSE. That is potent. Not a bad rose though, not powdery or old ladyish. Wet: A nice, sweet rose. Not bad! Very subtle and soothing. I'm not getting any cinnamon, strangely enough. Dry: Rose single note. No cinnamon, just light rose. It's nice, not for me, but certainly not bad! Out of 10: 5, aka meh.

I really wanted to try this, and just received it as a frimp from a generous forumite, so here goes! In the Imp: SOAP! So much soap. Something herbal, but mostly soap. Wet: Soothing herbal, still a little soapy..vaguely aquatic. Dry: Suuuper herbal, straight up. I can't pick out individual notes, just an herbal soap. This hasn't changed much between the stages. Out of 10: 4? I think that if you like outdoorsy, herbal smells, then you'd definitely like Leanan Sidhe.

I don't think I ever reviewed this one! I gave it away a long while ago, but I still have my notes, so let's go. In the Imp: This smelled sour and strange. I know now that that's jasmine, but then it was simply an unnamed stinky smell. Wet: Zohmygod, jasmine. You know, I didn't think I'd be a jasmine hater, but it seems to amp to the high heavens on me. A tinge of something almost mineral-esque sits in the background. Dry: Jasmine soap. My dad did not like this one, and neither did I. Out of 10: 0

I wore Hand of Glory to the premiere in Halifax last night.. The beeswax and smoke make me think of studying the in Hogwarts library late at night, and of course Malfoy owns a Hand of Glory. It doesn't hurt that it's one of my favorite scents.

In the Imp: Tobacco! This is nice! A little leather too, which I love. Wet: Umm, it's a little sour now. I definitely smell that date palm, the greenery is very strong and realistic. I also get a tiny bit of bitter tobacco. Dry: No, no. Bad. Sour. Bitter. Must wash arm! Out of 10: 2

I'm terrified of this one. In the Imp: It's SO sweet. Def that wine note from Cockaigne. It's very cloying. Wet: Wow, that's wine alright. I don't know what cloves smell like, but this isn't spicy or anything..just very sticky sweet. Not in the way I like though. Dry: This MORPHED. I smell like my grandma now! I don't know what perfume she wears, but this is close! It's powdery and strange! How did that happen? I mean, I didn't like it before, but still. My mind is boggled. Out of 10: 2

In the Imp: Hmm, apple maybe? It's suuuper light in the imp, I can't really smell anything. Granny Smith apple. Wet: Perfumey apple. Still light and not really sweet. I can't really smell anything else; maybe a breath of greenery. It's very pretty; not my kind of scent, but I do like it. Dry: Much of the same, only stronger. Not bad at all! Out of 10: 6

In the Imp: Rose, alcohol, something SUPER bitter and burnt smelling. Wet: The same. Gross. It reminds me of my nanny's living room. She's a heavy smoker and my grandfather fixes trucks all day. Dry: No, that's horrible. I'm sorry. It's a bad acrid rose, and I need to wash it off. Out of 10: 0

Ylang ylang, honey, Egyptian and Arabian musks and labdanum. In the Imp: Hmm. Honey, something grapey.. Maybe a little herbal tinge. Not bad! Wet: Cough syrup?? Something medicinal, but still grapey..I\'m confused. Dry: It\'s not an UNPLEASANT smell.. It\'s hard to describe. I get such a strong grape note, but it\'s a grape juice note, the kind that\'s half sugar with no real fruit in it. I get a tiny bit of honey, but mostly it\'s syrupy grape and super sweet. Out of 10: 4

I don't like aquatics, but this was a frimp, so let's give it a go! In the Imp: Sour and gross. It does smell like the sea though, like Indian Sea in Cape Breton. Wet: Hmm, a nice ocean breeze. This is very calming, and I actually kind of like it. It doesn't have the green note that disagreed with me in Lyonesse, which I suspect is ambergris. Dry: It smells like ocean-scented soap! It's uncanny. It's nice, but def not for me. I don't want to smell like soap. Out of 10: 5

Grape hard candy from bottle to drydown on me. Not much else to say. I like it, but I'm not really a fruity kind of girl. I almost smell a light musk? I have no idea why. Maybe a little bit of berry as well. Very fae.

Beautiful, perfect, delicious leather. On me, it goes slightly off, but on my brother, it smells a little sweet. Too sexy for my baby brother, but I'd love to smell this on a non-relative. Did that sound super creepy? Oh well. I might try this in my hair, as I love it in the imp, but it doesn't quite work on me. Pure, lovely leather. Deelish. Out of 10: 8! But not on me

Well, now that I see that this contains jasmine, black musk AND almond, I can see why I don't like it. I got this as a frimp from the lab, and after opening the imp to sniff it, I immediately exclaimed, "it smells like bad breath!" My brother and his girlfriend said outhouse, but I think halitosis is much more accurate. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you much else, as I only let it sit on my skin for about 30 seconds before I had to wash it off. So I dunno, maybe if those notes work for you, you'll love it, but this was made of fail on me. Out of 10: Negative 4.
