    The Deepest Mysteries of Creation

On me, this is mostly perfumey rose that dries down powdery with a hint of light resins. I already have a bunch of resin & rose scents from bpal that I like more than this (Parlement of Foules for a LE, and Rose Cross in the GC that is also rose & frankincense).

The Horrors of My Secret Toil

The rose in this is sharp and turns slightly soapy on me, with the vetiver smelling like smoky, charred wood in the background. Doesn't work for me at all.

    Plum Puddin'

Plum Puddin is like very tart, slightly sour fruit and a dash of cinnamon on me. I don't know if it smells super plum-like to me, but reading over the other reviews, it does remind me a bit of red currant (sour-fruity). It reminds me of sweet tarts.

    Figgy Puddin'

Figgy Puddin smells like burnt caramel, cinnamon, and a hint of fig on me. It's too sweet, but it's also really light on me and only lasts about an hour. A World of Fools was last year's figgy pudding blend, and it was more complex, not as sickly sweet, and longer lasting than this blend. I also prefer Molly Grue for a foodie fig scent, and Intrigue for a general fig scent.

    Black Cherry Amaretto Christmas Puddin'

I don't care for any of the Christmas Puddins this year, but this one was my least favorite (not really surprising, because I don't often like the lab's cherry notes). This pretty much just smells like cherry cough syrup on my skin, and lasts about a half hour.

    Similar to Arcana's Madame Lapin

I agree with cuervosueno that Arcana is really different from bpal (I like Arcana's honey and rarely like bpal's). Madame Lapin is also a very unique (and awesome) scent to me, nothing else in my collection smells like it. It smells as advertised and is strong and comforting <3. That said, if you're looking for something with spices & honey in the bpal catalogue, I'd suggest Cockaigne (smells like cinnamon toast on me, or at least it did in the bottle I have from when it first came out) and Bengal, and Dragon's Milk for just comforting, honey & cream sweetness. And maybe Horse Chesnut Honey for honey and a slight foodie feel...
  7. I always wore whatever I wanted to classes, but went light on the application. I usually spritzed perfume on my wrists, and that way it was easy for me to smell my fragrance, but wasn't like I was covered in a cloud of scent that might overwhelm someone else. For bpals, I wore Alice & Dorian a lot when I was in college.

Mocking the Invisible World With Its Own Shadows

I swapped for a sample of this, because I enjoy ambergris, but verbena tends to be one of my death notes and bpal's white sandalwood turns powdery on me. Unfortunately, on me, this is a very loud, sour, lemony verbena with a drydown that's sharp verbena and baby powder. I catch a whiff of the wisteria for the first few minutes (smells a bit perfumey and sharp floral to me here), but then it disappears. After a half hour, I'm left with a very faint baby powder & incense scent.

    A Dense and Frightful Darkness

This starts off with lots of black musk (smells like smoky/musky, sharp, cold men's cologne to me) sweetened by the myrrh, opoponax, and tobacco. Opoponax smells intensely, syrupy sweet on me, and I'm getting lots of that super-sweet resin/incense here. As it dries down, the black musk actually calms down and something in this starts to turn powdery. It's mostly sweet opoponax and myrrh on the drydown, golden and warm smelling on me, with a powdery undertone. I thought that I might like this on my husband, but it goes too sweet on him as well. There are resin blends that I like a lot more than this one, so it's not a keeper for me.

    Old Moon

This reminds me a bit of Story Time at Dark Delicacies at first, with a very faint, soft leather smell and hints of something like citrus (though this doesn't have the sweetness that Story Time does for me). As it dries down, it start to smell like clean, powdery skin musk and a whiff of smoky tobacco on me, with not so much on the leather or old books smell. It's not really sweet or leathery enough for me. This version of Old Moon is really light on me, clinging close to the skin and only lasting about an hour and a half. There are a lot of leather and book scents that I like a lot more than this one...

    The Reward of my Benevolence

I didn't know that boneflower was tuberose before reading this thread. Tuberose hates me, and this scent does that sharp, high pitched, perfumey white floral thing. The white sandalwood turns baby powdery and the oakmoss adds a dry, slightly earthy edge. It winds up smelling like the usual perfumey white floral with a dry, herbal, woodsy sort of undertone. A very dry, perfumey scent on me.

    The Cold Hour of Dawn

This starts off with a chilly blast of eucalyptus and mint on me, then quickly dries down to mostly blue musk with a sharp, perfumey iris. I really like the lab's blue musk note, which always smells cool, watery, and still to me (like a still, chilly pond in the middle of the woods), but the iris is a little more perfumey-floral than I'd like. It's a quiet, cool, musky smelling floral.

    Cloth of Gold

I don't know if I have much to add about this scent, because a lot of bpal's snow/frost type scents smell very similar on me. This is like minty snow/slush with a bit of a cool spring air and slightly soapy floral smell to me. Nothing about it really sticks out to me...

The Last Evening of the Year

The Last Evening smells unusual to me because it's soapy and clean, but also dusty smelling, like someone took soapy, wet clothes from the washer and tossed them into a dusty attic instead of the dryer. I'm not smelling any rose here, just lots of soapy laundry, dust, and a chill from the snow.

    A Wonderful Light

I'm really surprised that there's no pine or snow listed for this, because I get a really strong pine scent from A Wonderful Light. It's like sharp, cool pine covered in golden honey. I'm not getting anything like O or orange zest, which is making me wonder if my bottle is wrong somehow (I seem to keep getting 'off' bottles like the Beaver Moon variations lately) A Wonderful Light is like a blast of pine and chilly snow note with a vein of sweet honey, and dries down to clean, dryer sheet-esque snow note and honey. Soap and honey for about two hours before it fades. I'm getting nothing like amber, vanilla or orange from this at all. My bottle is pine, soapy snow/ozone, and honey...

    Oak Moon

Oak Moon reminds me of Tree of Life, Atlas, and The Antikythera Mechanism. It smells like dry wood / tree / oak with a toasty, comforting, roasted vanilla sweetness and a hint of something clean and cool (snow note? a touch of eucalyptus?). I like this, though I prefer the other three blends for something similar.

    Frost at Midnight

I'm mainly getting pine, orange blossom, perfumey honeysuckle, and soapiness from Frost at Midnight, which unfortunately blends together to smell like some sort of household cleanser on me. As it dries down (after about an hour) it's less soapy (though there's still this clean, cool, men's aftershave sort of edge to the blend for me) and a smokiness creeps in from the tobacco. Piney, green, clean and masculine, and slightly smoky with just a touch of orange blossom.

    Colder and Colder

Colder & Colder mostly smells like bpal's snow note on me, though less sweet and more clean/soapy smelling. It also smells like a hint of fresh mint leaves. Something here leans towards being masculine for me as well, like a dark muskiness. I wasn't really expecting to like this, but it's actually not as minty as I was expecting (I was expecting it to smell like mint mouthwash, lol). It reminds me of some of Violette Market's snow blends, which tend to be a bit cologne-like on me.

    Yellow Snowballs

I was really hoping that this would be like Pink Snowballs with lemon instead of rose. I was hoping that it would be heavy on the chilly, creamy vanilla that's in blends like Snow White and Pink Snowballs. But I don't think that this really smells like vanilla at all. It's like bpal's snow note + sharp citrus, which turns high pitched and soapy smelling on me. It reminds me of dryer sheets

    In Brightness and In Joy

This starts off very fruity, with the orange blossom and berry smelling like fruity hard candy. As it dries down, the berry fades and I'm getting more of the floral. I don't smell any rose, but there's a humid, creamy, almost tropical white floral sort of smell that must be the angel's trumpet. I might have guessed that there was a gardenia note in this if I didn't know what the listed notes are. Angel's trumpet with a hint of orange blossom. It makes for a creamy, sweet, lightly soapy floral that's not unpleasant, but also isn't very complex smelling on me. I don't get any incense, sandalwood, or rose from this blend.

    Thousands of Lights

Thousands of Lights starts off reminding me of Schwarzer Mond. It's very dark, sweet, cola-like incense that smells warm and slightly powdery. As it dries down, the beeswax is stronger and makes the blend smell less dark and more golden. Something also starts to turn bright/soapy in the drydown. It smells a lot like Templum Victoriae atmosphere spray in the drydown. I like the beginning more than the drydown of this, but I'd recommend Thousands of Light if you enjoy beeswax scents at all.

    The Most Magnificent Christmas Tree

Christmas Tree smells like a Christmas tree air freshener on me (reminds me of all of the pine scented offerings at Bath & Body Works around the holidays). It's soft, sweet pine with a bit of a sour edge and a touch of woodsmoke. It goes more sour on me over time, sort of reminding me of BO. I love the smell of real pine trees, but something about this is too strong and artificial on me, enough to give me a headache. I prefer bpal's Mistletoe for a pine scent (or Golden Priapus from the GC, as that is nicely softened by the vanilla and amber).

    Beautiful and Adored

In the bottle and on my skin, Beautiful & Adored is an intensely sharp, biting sort of rose perfume with a hint of sweet pear in the background. As it dries down, it's less ROSE and more of a perfumey white floral smell with a touch of soapy clean, and I can't smell any of the pear anymore. I'm not getting any vanilla, currant or honey at all. Beautiful and Adored is very floral and perfumey on me, all rose musk and white gardenia. I think that this would have been really lovely if the pear and vanilla were stronger/there, but it's too floral-perfumey for me as it is. It starts to give me a headache after a while, because it's so sharp & perfumey.

    Maison En Pain d’Épices

Testing this again, the spice is much stronger and I'm not getting any of the vanilla icing that I liked initially. I get a blast of something like spree/sweet tarts candies (fruity, tart, slightly powdery candy) with a spiciness that reminds me of potpourri. My husband really hates this (said it was buttery and gross) and asked me to wash it off...

    Pumpkin Masala Rooibos

In the bottle, this smells like red cherry with a hint of buttery pumpkin and gingerbread spice. On my skin, it's gingerbread cookies and a sharp cherry note from the almond. And then it's like my skin just completely eats this scent. It goes through a phase where it's like a much lighter version of Pfancy Pfefferneusse, with the addition of cherry. So it's like warm shortbread cookies + tons of sour cherry. And within fifteen minutes I'm just left with this blah, extremely light, sour cherry smell. This was the Yule blend that I was most looking forward to, so it's a major disappointment for me. The only note that didn't sound good to me was the almond (as bpal's almond always does this wonky cherry smell on my skin), and it's the strongest note on me. I'm not getting any licorice or coconut at all. Light, sour cherry. I don't know if I got a messed up bottle of this or what (as that seems to be happening to me a lot lately), but I hope that this gets better and less sour cherry with age...
