The snow note usually doesn't smell soapy on me, but I'm getting a hint of soap here with lots of sharp, bitter grapefruit that smells a bit rancid on my skin. In the drydown, a perfumey white musk note is settling in, but I'm oddly not smelling any peach. Musky, soapy, bitter grapefruit.

I expected this to be perfumey and sharp from the iris, but it starts off with a sharp lime and dries down to a powdery, sweet orange. Reminds me of orange flavored sweet tarts. Chalky and tart. I'm not getting any peach from the aged decant.

Cinnamony gingerbread with an undertone of Lust's perfumey ylang ylang muskiness, like someone dropped a spice cookie into a sharp perfume. I don't really get the red musk, patch or myrrh, but the cinnamon is overpowering in most of the Gingerbread scents on my skin.

I don't get incense from this, and I love bpal's incense-and-cake type blends. I love regular Cathedral too. But this just smells like cinnamon & cassia with hints of lemony ginger and rose perfume on my skin, drying down to nothing but cassia & cinnamon. Too much spice for me.

A sweeter Sin with even more spices and a warm, baked cookie tone to it (almost caramelized and burnt smelling around the edges). Dries down to cinnamon sugar with a tiny hint of patchouli. I think there's too much spice in this for me.

In the bottle, this is a strange, tropical fruit gingerbread. In the drydown, this quickly turns into nothing but a cinnamon & cassia fest on my skin. All spice, all the time. Like red hots cinnamon candies. Sharp and gives me a headache.

Peppermint, as usual, but I find this year's version to be sharper and not as sweet as previous year's. It has an almost musky/perfumey sharpness to it, and is all bracing, cold mint. I don't get vanilla and not much of a sugary scent to it either.

The sour pine, sharp citrus yuzu and soapy-floral dragon's blood make this smell very much like PineSol floor cleaner on me. I'm not getting an incense feel at all.

This scent is basically a collection of my most hated notes. The only thing that I like in it is the frankincense, and I don't get any frankincense from Cryophobia. The eucalyptus and mint go straight to menthol, medicinal Vicks VapoRub, the grapefruit and wormwood are sour, bitter and reminiscent of body odor, and the iris is incredibly sharp and perfumey. It was an immediate scrubber for me.

Buttery, sweet cinnamon, something like maple syrup, and toasted, sugared, roasted nuts. It doesn't smell like a drink to me so much as a pastry scent. I actually find this to be a little too sweet on my skin.

The cake doesn't survive on my skin, as the spices and apple really amp up on me, but this is still a nice fragrance. Cinnamony, spiced cider and sweet apple. I was disappointed at the lack of cake and buttercream for the first few minutes, but I do notice a creamy, rich, buttery vanilla undertone in the drydown. It makes the spices less sharp and more wearable for me. It reminds me of Lambs-Wool.

I love LiberAmoris's review for this with the line: "the smell of a proper Victorian life gone a bit off the rails." Spirit Board reminds me of Crimson Peak. It conjures up images of dark, polished wood, dead and dry roses in a vase of rosewater, cups of bitter tea set out in a dark room, and hints of faded men's cologne. The lilac comes through in the drydown, and I love lilac and the hint of sweetness that it adds. The whole thing swirls together as a woody, gothic, slightly masculine, dark floral on my skin.

The only note that I can pick out from this is the lemongrass. It's bright, slightly sweet, and herbal. It smells like a simple aromatherapy blend. Zingy and lemony.

I don't get much cake or beer from my decant of this. It's an herbal, sharp, cool lavender, almost musky smelling, with a sweet, fruity undertone. Light and clean.

Strawberry jelly filled donut. Reminds me of Golletes and Zombie Apocalypse. Super-sweet strawberry jam and a hint of pastry and powdered sugar.

Lots of bold notes in this, but the red musk amps up like usual (luckily I enjoy the red musk) and it's mostly a heavy, grapey-red-wine-like red musk. Sweet and sensual. As it dries down, I get the smoky black leather and vetiver with an edge of dusty spiciness, but still mostly red musk.

I've held on to my decant of this one, because it's cozy, foodie and comforting. It has an undertone of dark, burnt sugar throughout (even a little smoky smelling on my skin) with a cinnamon spiced pastry and stewed plum and fig sort of scent. Dries down to a creamy spice and pastry type of smell, with the cinnamon edge not being sharp and overwhelming on me. Reminds me of Snap-Dragon-Fly, but spicier.

I got this off of the bptp etsy page after reading reviews saying that this was the same scent as the French Tobacco single note, which is one of my favorites. Unfortunately, my bottle smells nothing like French Tobacco. Fallen Woman is primarily a soapy, high pitched, white floral scent that reminds me of tobacco flower, not tobacco. As it settles, I get a cloying caramel and stale cigarette smoke scent as well. I don't like the mix of soapy white floral, caramel and nasty smoke. I also don't think that this smells anything like white honey; it definitely reads as caramel on my skin. Has sort of a waxy scent to it as it dries down as well. Really disappointed in this.

Pine tree scented car fresheners and something weirdly fruity + menthol, which is making me think of grape flavoured cough syrup. Also some dry, powdery sandalwood in the drydown. Not good on me at all

I don't get leather, paper, ink or books from this at all. It's bone dry, powdery sandalwood, bitter and sharp, with a strong dirty ash tray scent to it. Doesn't change at all over hours of wear. Really smells like harsh, chemical, burning cigarettes and a dirty ash tray. It also has a strange, hot, sharp note to it that smells just like horseradish. So... horseradish mixed with tons of dust, bone dry, powdery sandalwood and a bitter, dirty ash tray. Really awful.

This reminds me of the now discontinued blend, Asphodel, which I really hated. It was intensely soapy and powdery on me with a sharp, musky/perfumey, white floral edge that gave me a horrible headache. The Silver Stream is much the same, but with more of an aquatic, watery, salty edge to it.

The Ghost Children would be at home with most of the florals in the Ars Moriendi collection. It's a very somber, quiet, cold, damp floral with wet, green stems and a clean white floral, maybe lily, that turns soapy on me in the drydown. Like a damp bouquet of white funeral flowers and a hint of soap. I don't get anything like candles, beeswax or smoke.
-
Right Hand starts off as a soft, powdery, lightly sweet orris, black smoke from the vetiver, and a floral dragon's blood. The vetiver takes over in the drydown and it's a blackened, smoky vetiver with just a hint of the dragon's blood. A simple, smoky fragrance.

I agree with other reviewers in that this smells like a minty, mentholic toothpaste scent. Also has a generic white bar soap smell in the drydown. Not for me, but maybe a good choice if you wanted to smell really clean.

I love the smell of construction and was hoping for a wood, paint and drywall type of scent with a creamy buttermilk (as odd as that sounds, lol). Unfortunately, I'm just getting the chalk out of it. It's dry chalk dust and reminds me of when my teachers in gradeschool would select students to go and bang the chalk out of the erasers. I always tried to get out of the eraser cleaning duty, because the smell made me sick and I hated getting that dust all over me. It makes me want to sneeze and take a shower.
