Smells like vanilla-spice scented candle wax dripping over an old, wooden table. Beeswax, vanilla, red sandalwood and a little bit of smoke and sweet spice. This sounded like it would be a cheap, waxy, cloying candle fragrance, but it smells like burning an expensive candle over an expensive wood, lol. I like the way the bit of smokiness cuts through some of the sweetness, and the red sandalwood is warm and grounding.

Light, dry wood and dusty resins with a hint of sour rose. I usually enjoy these notes, but they don't work for me here. I think the clary sage is giving this an herbal, bitter, medicinal edge as well in the drydown.

I like this a lot. Blueberry notes are often way too sweet for me, but the tart lemon verbena and green, grassy notes keep this from turning cloying on me. It smells like coming upon an abandoned blueberry patch where green grass, weeds, herbs, and lavender are sprouting up through the blueberry bushes. Fades really fast (gone entirely within an hour on my skin), but is so fun while it lasts.

The Hierophant and The Empress

I'm curious about the froot loops cereal that others have mentioned, but I don't get that impression on my skin. On me, the roses amp up and I can smell creamy gardenia and resinous, bright frankincense underneath the big, sweet roses. Maybe the mallow flower adding some creamy sweetness that's vanilla-like. Sweet roses, creamy vanilla and gardenia, and a hint of bright resins. A very pretty rose blend. -
Green grass, dirt, and a hint of floral scented laundry soap, like smelling damp laundry on a breeze after it has been hung out to dry. I usually don't like green or soapy scents, but this isn't sharp and the clean undertone isn't overwhelming. I really like the dirt, green and floral notes, and it does make me think of playing outside in the summer when I was younger. Only lasts a couple hours, but I like wearing this when I'm missing warmer weather. It's a carefree, happy scent that perfectly captures its theme to me.

Sticky Eyeballs and Floppy Entrails

Intensely sweet, sugary, artificial strawberry syrup. Too sweet for me, unfortunately, and I don't get any of the cream or marshmallow to round it out. -
Fuzzy baby goat musk, goat’s milk accord, wild rice flower, and a little bit of farmer’s market honey. Everything about this is lovely on my skin. It's buttery, creamy, honeyed milk and rice flower with a hint of warm, soft, fuzzy musk. The honey and rice flower add a natural, soft floral tone, floating in the milkiness. I don't get any spices from it, and spice usually amps up on my skin. The words that always come to mind when I wear this are 'soft' and 'natural.' It's light, creamy and comforting to me.

Muse of Fire starts off as a watery, fruity blossom, and dries down to a sharp, perfumey white floral tone with hints of powdery, sweet wildflower and something spicy. Too floral and not enough sweet for me.

De Sade & Chaste Moon 2005 substitute

Have you tried The Black Rider from the GC (Marchen category)? It reminds me of the leather in De Sade and Brom Bones. The Red Rider and The White Rider are great leather scents too, though they don't remind me of that black leather in De Sade so much. -
So many of the yules just go to pure, sharp white soap smell on my skin, with all of the ice and ozone notes. This is another one that went to soap.
-
Soapy ozone/aquatic, a hint of mint and a strange, dry jasmine that's odd with the soapy water feel. I don't like soapy scents, so I didn't get far with this blend.

I actually don't mind meat fragrances. I have several perfumes now with bacon as a note and I love them, and I didn't even dislike bpal's Gore-Shock. This is kinda similar to Gore-Shock, minus the smoke. It's salty, honey glazed ham. Savory and sweet. I don't mind it, but (similar to Gore-Shock) I'll probably never really wear it. Bacon & chocolate perfumes, on the other hand, are amazing and wearable

On me, this smells like Old Spice cologne, a creamy and smooth sort of whiskey note, and maybe a caramelized, buttery rum... I actually kinda like this and I like it layered with leathers and tobacco scents.

Tobacco flower always smells cold, white and soapy to me. I get lots of tobacco flower with hints of sharp, lemony bergamot. As it dries down, the Spanish moss creeps in and smells damp and sour. This is pretty awful on my skin.

Sharp, floral, and so very soapy. I get no plum, no incense, and nothing that reminds me of carnation or the vanilla-y sweetness of Snow White. Very white, harsh and soapy...

I actually don't know what bayberry is supposed to smell like. I've never seen a bayberry candle or smelled one. This smells like dry, dusty, old, faded spice potpourri with evergreen and a dry woods note. Dusty more than waxy.

This is one of my favorite Halloween blends, and I really like it on my husband. You can pick out all of the listed notes, but they meld together into this dark, earthy, resinous delight. Opoponax is a super sweet, syrupy resin scent with a peppery tone to it, and always makes me think of resin made into molasses. The black musk is a little powdery, especially as this has aged, but still dark, plush and musky. The patchouli is earthy and grounding. And the tobacco adds a bit of sweet smokiness. So good.

Fear of nighttime. The vast, endless canopy of the night sky, dotted with cold, harsh pinpoints of light under a bulging white moon. Powdery white musk, a hint of herbal lavender, and a soapy, dry ozone. Clean and softly powdery sleep time blend.

I thought that I'd like Samhain with some foodie notes amped up, but this smells like dusty cinnamon potpourri on me and a hint of cheap patchouli incense. Really strange. Samhain 2004 and Samhainophobia 2006 are still my favorites in the Samhain family.

I wanted this to be lush and sweetly fruity with dark, syrupy, sweet myrrh, but it's coming off as very dusty and powdery on my skin. I was hoping that 'newly-ripened black pomegranate' would be different from the usual pom that never works on me, but it has the same powdery sweet tarts candy smell. The amber smells dusty, dry, and wooden. I can't really pick out the myrrh or chypre at all.

My 2016 bottle of this doesn't really smell like the 2010. The 2016 is a pale, clear, thin oil that comes off as sweet honey and a sour, metallic, musky-aquatic edge with the baby powdery aspects of Snake Oil. My 2010 is dark, sweet, slightly smoky, honey incense with the slinky vanilla of Snake Oil. Two completely different things

Lots of cocoa absolute in this scent, so my bottle looks like a tiny lava lamp . I thought that this was going to be a winner, because when I first apply, it's lots of sweet, creamy milk chocolate, a hint of marshmallow, a dry and woody (and not baby powdery) sandalwood, and a hint of snuggly, soft, sweet, honeyed patchouli. It's warm, cozy and sweet, and overall reminds me of the scent of Cocoa Puffs cereal. Unfortunately, no matter how much of this I slather on, I literally cannot smell it after ten minutes. Low throw and absolutely no staying power

Starts off with damp, sharp green leaves threatening to go soapy, and a sour, tart red currant. Dries down to mostly ambergris, which always smells like a warm, golden amber and aquatic cologne to me with a slight spiciness.
-
Sappy, slightly sour green leaf smell with a bit of a damp, cold feel to it. Smells a bit like damp, soapy laundry as it dries down. Most of bpal's leaf and dead leaf blends smell the same to me.

Baby powdery amber mixed with the lab's hay note, which smells like sweet, dry, golden hay with a bit of a lemony tang to it. Reminds me of a less complex and more powdery Hay Moon.
