Candiru Cove Frisbee Tournament Atmosphere Spray
Blood onmy hands replied to Lycanthrope's topic in Atmosphere
I wish that I got the lemony notes from this (was hoping for refreshing lemon and coconut), but it's still a very lovely room spray. It's warm and dry to me, with the furry, slightly powdery musk and spiciness from the clove and carnation. Then there's lots of sweet coconut cream and perfumey/sharp vanilla orchid. Warm, dry, musky, slightly spicy, and coconut cream. -
Poisoned Apple Martini
Blood onmy hands replied to Convallaria's topic in Black Phoenix Trading Post
Clean, tart, green apple with a hint of soapiness on my skin. Has kind of an apple air freshener scent to me in the drydown. Light and not really boozy or sweet enough for me. -
Dark, smoky vetiver and sweet, syrupy opoponax with an undertone of sharp, clean, citrus cologne.
-
I wish that I could pull the cumin note out of this, because the rest of the blend is wonderful. The cumin just adds an off, sweaty undertone to the whole thing, which I especially don't like when it's mixed with the patchouli. All of the other notes come together into a lovely, complex, masculine cologne, sweetened with vanilla, but the patch and cumin combo, along with some smoky vetiver, just ruin the drydown for me.

Metallic, herbal honey-sage with a drydown that's mostly soapy aquatic on my skin, with just a hint of that herbal honey.

This smells like the lab's snow/ice note on me, but soapier and not as sweet as usual. Definitely a clean laundry type of scent.
-
Lots of tart, sweet, herbal lemon verbena with a hint of dirty, dry, slightly powdery patchouli on my skin.
-
Sharp green grass with a slightly soapy, wet, spring floral scent. I prefer Bestiaire du Moyen Age and Egg Hunt Grass Stain for my green/grass perfumes.
-
Mulch-y, dead leaves and dirt scent with a slightly sour pine and green, damp moss and leaves type of undertone. The drydown has a dry, soft, warm woods scent on me, with hints of the dirt and pine. I don't dislike this, but I don't feel like I'd ever wear it either. It's more atmospheric to me. I'm not getting any fruit or berries.

The tea, mate and lime are a very sharp, sour, overwhelming, green citrus on my skin, with an undertone of smoky wood. Reminds me of citrus scented floor cleaner + a hint of smoky, ashy wood...

Smells similar to the prototype imp that I got, which I thought was waxy lilies, lemons and powdery vanilla. I wish I had the two to compare now. This is still a waxy, sweet, vanillic floral with sweet, lemony edges. Maybe a little more fresh and bright, and slightly less waxy and sweet than the proto?

The white amber and white sandalwood go straight to baby powder, mixed with some sort of soapy floral.

I get nothing like cake (the cake is a lie!) or Dorian from this. Ashes, yes, and a sour, strange, evergreen-ish note that's reminding me of PineSol. The drydown has some savory, bright, sharp herbs and sharp spices. This actually makes me kind of sick to my stomach when I smell it. Green + spice + ashes is not working for me.

The ozone goes straight to soap on me and overpowers anything else that might be in this fragrance. Smells like dry laundry soap powder.

This is all new, black leather on me, though it starts to smell a bit harsh in the drydown (not in a bad way, but like the new leather has sun baked into a hard, cracked black leather) with a hint of tarry smokiness. Not my favorite leather, but I have kept my decant of this one, and I like it.

Eh. This smells like hairspray and soap on me (white musk and ozone?). I'm not getting lemon or sweetness, but it has a dry, dark wood note in the drydown, and the musk starts to turn powdery. I didn't care for this one.

This turns kind of sour on my skin for some reason, but I looooove it in an oil warmer. Juicy, bright orange and soothing, creamy, sweet-yet-clean lavender. The lavender is calming and the orange is uplifting. It's a cheery, clean room fragrance.

Perumey, sharp, unpleasant white floral, soapy rose and soapy snow. This set wound up being way too soapy for my tastes.

I love so many of the lab's rum scents, and I enjoy this one too. There's something bright and sour about Hot Buttered Rum on my skin at first, almost like there's a sour fruit note mixed into the boozy, sweet, caramelized rum scent. As it dries down, it still smells like sour pineapple and caramelized rum, but turns sweeter, warmer and creamier. On me, Hot Buttered Rum is like pineapple and butter rum flavored lifesavers candies with an undertone of creamy coconut and a hint of the warm, caramelized edges of a pineapple upside down cake. It has a light dusting of cinnamon on me as well, but the spiciness is very well behaved, which is rare for me. This smells verrrrry similar to Upa Upa, if you took the amped up spices out of Upa Upa. Golden, creamy, warm, sweet, tropical rum...

Irish Coffee Cake
Blood onmy hands replied to Velvet Lilly's topic in Gifts with Donation or Purchase
I was hoping that this would smell like Miskatonic University + cake, but it smells like neither of those things to me. All I get is a weird, cloying, burnt brown sugar scent. Dry and cloying. I got my bottle off of the lab's ebay auctions. -
I don't care for the orange blossom honey, because the floral honey + citrus just makes me think of cough drops. I don't smell any coconut or pear, but there's a warm, powdery amber in the drydown. Not one of my favorites.
-
I love the green, cool, soothing clover note, but the drydown turns to soapy white florals on my skin.
-
A soft, lightly sweet, warm, woody fragrance. Woody cedar and fig, light hint of honey, and a green, herbal sage note. I expected this to be smoky with the sage and chaparral, but it's not. Doesn't last long or have great throw, and is mostly a lightly sweetened, woody scent.

I love Very Pink Surprise Cake, but I seem to enjoy almost anything that has a cake scent to it. I agree that it has a strawberry flavored milk feel to it, with moist cake, a hint of pink bubblegum, lots of sweetness... I didn't enjoy Sprinklecake, but I didn't get any cake from that one, just a lot of sharp, cherry fruitiness. This is more creamy, pink, strawberry-ish sweetness and actual cake. This reminds me of Possets' Pink Cake perfume oil as well. Fun and delicious smelling.
