    Deipnophobia

Soapy, sweet floral and tart, sour red wine. I was excited for whiskey and bread, but neither of them show up to the party.

    Leda

I wanted to love this for the name, but between the golden musk, white sandalwood and orris, this is bone dry and super baby powdery smelling on me.

    The Serpentine

I love Dorian, so I like this blend (though I do prefer Dorian on its own, I think). It's the smooth, cool vanilla musk of Dorian with a calming, cool lavender and a touch of a sharper, white floral that goes a bit soapy on my skin (the snowdrops?). Pretty, clean, floral, lavender touched Dorian. Delicately vanilla sweet.

    Goofin' at Stonehenge

Overall, this smells like a spring floral scented laundry soap on my skin. I can smell hints of green grass and sweet lavender, but mostly it's wrapped up in a clean, musky, soapy fragrance. Clean laundry.

    Places Everyone

Sweet, sugary berries (like blue raspberry snow cone syrup) and a powdery bubblegum scent. Fun and super-sweet, but only lasts about a half hour on my skin.

    Tag-Upon-Avon

Strange how different this seems to be on everyone. I love tobacco, especially French Tobacco, but I'm not really getting that note here. Tag is mostly a sharp, cold, astringent black tea on me with hints of medicinal, sharp clove and a drydown that has a smokiness sort of like burning leaves. It has a harsh quality on my skin.

    The Creation

I'm mainly getting powdery amber, sweet frankincense, sharp and perfumey gardenia-ylang and a hint of dry, woody patchouli in the drydown. Powdery, perfumey, nondescript sweetness. This is like one of those blends that has so many notes in it, it just fades into a jumbled 'perfume' scent, if that makes sense.

    Good Morning, London

Baby powdery amber and a sharp, clean, herbal sort of lavender. Most of bpal's ambers turn to baby powder on me, and I don't like it, and I prefer my lavenders to be sweeter and creamier. This winds up being like baby powder and herbal lavender scented soap. I just don't like that powderiness at all.

Lilith and the Four Sons of Horus

I was afraid to try this, because I'm sensitive to spice notes. It is a loud, intense cassia that raises red welts on my skin where applied. Smells like cinnamon, but a dry and woody sort of variety. Sharp. The honey isn't enough to soften it for me.

    Heavenly Spark

Dry wood, incense smoke and a touch of very sour, red rose. Dusty and light on me, and I don't like the rose in this blend.

    Perfect Fifths

Much like the Motherhood fragrance, the bubblegum overwhelms any other notes on my skin. It's sweet, pink bubblegum with that powdery film around it. Fun, but I don't see myself wearing it, really. I'm more into cake, cocoa, and caramel as gourmands.

    San Cristóbal de la Habana

Slightly soapy, salty aquatic and white florals. I smell a light sweetness from the fruit, but not really much fruit at all, and I don't get any tobacco. A light, clean, primarily floral scent on my skin.

    Caldarium

I think I'm getting mostly mulberry and dry, herbal rosemary, which reminds me of being in the craft store around Christmas time and being overloaded with berry scented candles and dry, herbal wreaths. Even smells kind of waxy/plasticy on me. The berry doesn't remind me of cranberry or red currant, as those are more tart and juicy to me. This is strangely dry and fake-y.

    The Great London Spaghetti Hunt

I was hoping for something like Miskatonic University, cocoa powder and moist, sweet cake. This blend isn't sweet or creamy to me, though. The coffee is dry and a little on the burnt smelling side of things, and there's a dry pastry and dusty, powdery quality here. As it dries down, I'm getting the dry, sharp cinnamon that others have mentioned. Not sweet enough for me, and I wanted more creamy coffee and cake.

    Coconut Meat

Coconut oil used for cooking, washed out with a sheer, white musk type of scent. Turns plasticy in the drydown and doesn't last more than a half hour. I'm not liking most of the lab's newer single note blends.

    Libra 2016

The white musk made this a gamble for me, because I don't really like its sharp, perfumey, chemical qualities. It often smells sheer and washes out a scent for me. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happens with Libra. The white musk is perfumey, cheap and slightly soapy. There's sweet strawberry and warm, toasty benzoin, but they're smothered in sharp musk. It gives it a chemical soup scent. I don't really get any mallow, vanilla or wood. Soapy, overly musky strawberry.

    Wild Woman with Unicorn

Of the Unicorn is my patchouli love of the Unicorns series. I'm glad that I just tracked down a decant of Wild Woman, because the patchouli and greenery in it is kind of funky (with undertones of cedar hamster bedding and sweaty BO). I don't smell floral with it, but it has a sour green grass scent to it. Green grass and animalic, sweaty patchouli. The drydown after a half hour has a damp, black dirt scent to it that I enjoy, and loses some of the sweatiness, but the green grass scent is still very sharp and sour to me. And then, around the one hour mark, this has mostly disappeared.

    Unicorn and Ram

The wooly musk and cashmere, I think, are giving this an overall feel of baby powder and warm musk. It does have a fabric quality to it, like smelling a dry, fuzzy, clean sweater. I don't smell any leather or oudh, but there's a little spiciness from the cardamom in the drydown. Too powdery for me.

    Reapers Gonna Reap

The sandalwood goes straight to baby powder on me and the musk smells like a sharp white musk. Very perfumey. Vanilla is dry and barely there. Sort of like a muskier, more powdery Morocco. Clean and powdery, not one of my favorites.

    A Little More Tea

The tea mostly smells like sweet lemon to me, with hints of honey and dry, biscuit-y cookies. I don't get any cream, and it's not as sweet as I was expecting. Lemon and biscuits with a hint of honey.

O The Joy of My Spirit!

A hint of pine when first applied, but it vanishes within seconds and I'm left with nothing but hazelnut. It's dry, woody, delicately sweet, warm nuttiness... Not quite Nutella, because the cocoa absolute doesn't want to mix well through the rest of the scent, but definitely a sugary hazelnut spread type of scent with chocolatey qualities. I really like this. I want to layer it with chocolate blends. ETA: Ordered a bottle after enjoying my decant and wound up swapping the bottle away. It's powdery, very dry and reminds me of sandalwood. The cocoa absolute sticks to the bottom of the bottle and no amount of shaking has made it loosen or disperse through the rest of the scent. Too dry and woody for me.

    The Wolf and the Rattlesnake

Very woody and earthy. Has a note that reminds me of the patchouli in Of the Unicorn, and then the patchouli in Hekaerge (kind of a chocolatey patchouli with funky BO edge). Something like sweet pine needles. A dry wood that makes me think of craft store wreaths and potpourri. Maybe red patchouli, balsam, and some sort of citrus, because the drydown reminds me so much of Hekaerge? I'm guessing this is woods, red patchouli, maybe some pine and citrus. Some musk. Mostly reminds me of craft store wreaths and potpourri. Not a favorite for me.

    Spider Witch

The hazelnut, patchouli and vanilla give off a sweet, nutty, chocolatey-earthy scent. The red musk adds some slinky warmth but isn't overpowering or highly noticeable (and I'm one who usually winds up with red musk single note). The leather is well worn, a suede-like brown leather. I like this, but it's very light on me. I have to press my nose close to my wrist to smell it, which is surprising, given its heavy note list. The drydown is a warm, toasty, nutty sweetness with soft leather. Earthy, but cozy and comforting rather than dark.

    Texare

In the bottle and on my skin at first, this reminded me of Treat #1. Fruity candy with glittering, sour sugar crystals on it. The bright, sweet, fun notes fade pretty quickly, though, and just add a hint of sweet cherry/berry candy underneath lots of 'wooly vanilla husk.' It really does smell like soft, wooly yarn, very fuzzy, warm and dry, with a dry, clean, delicately sweet vanilla muskiness. Makes me think of clean laundry and vanilla musk with a hint of cherry gummi candies. Airy and clean with a nice sweetness.

    Circus Bear

This is awful on my skin. Reminds me of the rose and pastry in Knave of Hearts, but there's something chemical and off about the whole thing. I think the gardenia might be going very musky/perfumey and has a burnt rubber edge to it, which I sometimes get from white florals like gardenia and tuberose. The floral smells soured. The drydown is cringe-worthy on me. Sour, sharp white florals, burnt rubber, burnt coffee, a hint of horse manure, sour rose, and buttery croissants... This was a scrubber for me. Overwhelmingly strong and just smells all wrong on my skin.
