I use these the same as I use perfume oils (smudged over my wrists and the ends of my hair), because the bath oils make my skin break out if I get them all over myself. I wish that I were getting the cake or cheesecake or frosting smell that others get from this, but it's all pumpkin spice on me. A big blast of cinnamon. I'd be afraid to pour this into my bath; I'm sensitive to spice notes and I'm pretty sure I'd have a bad reaction to this. .

I really enjoy the scent of cardamom, but I tend to like it paired with resins or gourmand notes. It's a green, spicy, cool scent that always makes me think of green cardamom pods coated in a sweet hint of amber & vanilla. I like fragrances that play up the resin and sweet tones of it. This focuses more on the spicy, green aspect of it. I just don't care for the lab's new dead leaf scents. They're not like Falling Leaf Moon, which really smelled like a leaf pile, but they have a sharp, cold, aquatic cologne smell to them. This is cardamom thrown into a man's aquatic and green cologne.

This is absolutely foul to my nose. It goes on with a hint of actual marigold scent (that herbal, spicy earthiness that is so amazing), but completely coated in weirdness. It's like sour oranges, the dirty dust smell when you turn on the heater for the first time in winter, baby powder and powdered sugar. Bitter, strange, and way too dry and powdery, with a cloying edge to it. This is one of those fragrances that made me feel sick to my stomach when I wore it. Extremely disappointed.

I like this, but I think my decant will be enough for me. I agree that it smells like Spanish moss (a bit sour, very humid/damp, kind of aquatic, reminds me of Bayou). There's a cold, stone-like feel and a sweet earthiness (like the musty, slightly powdery, vanilla-sweet-ish soil in Death Cap) that rounds out the moss and makes it not as aquatic as Bayou. It definitely makes me think of heavy moss draped through old trees in a cemetery full of marble statues and tombs. Very evocative, but not something I'll often want to smell like. I might try it as a room fragrance.

This reminds me of Gnome, which is like Sprite (fizzy lemon-lime soda) with some soap dumped into it. Maybe a bit ginger-y. Doesn't last long at all on my skin.

They Lie Thus Chambered and Cold to the Moon
Blood onmy hands replied to ACVail24's topic in Halloweenie
The cedar starts off green smelling on me and dries down to a dusty, woody, dry cedar. I like the cedar part of this. I don't like the tobacco flower, though, because it does its usual cold, soapy, white floral thing on my skin, along with a perfumey, sharp rose note. I'm not that into florals, so it's not working for me.- 7 replies

A Pale and Glimmering Light Appeared Before Him
Blood onmy hands replied to VelvetSky's topic in Halloweenie
I don't get smoke from this, but it does smell like a white floral + sour, humid, yellowy jasmine. Sort of perfumey/musky. Very floral and dominated by the jasmine. -
No wood, vetiver or moss on my skin; this is a full-on, laundry detergent, intensely soapy aquatic.
-
Soft, orange blossom-y neroli with a light, slightly powdery, white musk edge to it. I don't get any of the wood, but the frankincense has a bright, almost lemony quality to it. Mostly this is a musky, citrusy floral with a powdery tone. Something in it is going slightly soapy on me in the drydown as well. Faint and only lasts about 45 minutes on my skin.

Sickly sweet, over the top, strawberry syrup, like cloying strawberry syrup topping for ice cream (with no ice cream). The fizziness from the gin tries to calm down that sweetness, but this is still way too sweet and strong to my nose. Overwhelming sweetness.

I kind of expected this to be like Hollywood Babylon, but it is nowhere near that sweet. Is Crimson Musk different from Red Musk? I don't get a strong musk feel from this at all. Just a faint, waxy strawberry hard candy scent. Artificial strawberry candy with a wax/plastic edge to it. I'm not getting the soapiness that others have mentioned, at least.

This is nothing but death notes on me, and unsurprisingly gives me a headache. It's a mess of sharp white florals, cheap and screechy white musk, and sharp, citrusy white tea. I only sprayed this on my arm and had to wash it off after about fifteen minutes.

Red musk always smells like a red, glowing incense (often nag champa-esque) and a dark, fruity, rich, red wine, all wrapped up in a warm and sultry embrace. It's also a note that's super strong and tends to drown out whatever it's paired with on my skin. I don't really smell the patchouli or vetiver in this, but the honey adds some extra sweetness. Kind of reminds me of The Infernal Lover, but not as sweet, and this has a hint of smokiness in the drydown.

Very powdery sandalwood and orris with a bright, slightly citrusy white tea scent to it. Delicately sweet, but too powdery for me.
-
Sour, dry moss and a sour, dry, dark rose that kind of reminds me of Zombi perfume oil, but less earthy and more of a green moss. I get a little bit of spiciness and a golden warmth from the saffron. I don't like the sourness of this blend, so it's not a keeper for me.

Jeune Femme Nourrissant une Licorne Atmosphere Spray
Blood onmy hands replied to LizziesLuck's topic in Atmosphere
Very artificial, airy, perfumey green apple and soapy white floral scent. Reminds me a lot of the scent of Original Gain laundry detergent. I'm really picky about apple fragrances, and this has that generic, perfumey apple smell to it. -
Very dry patchouli, ashy vetiver, and a hint of sour, red currant. I was hoping for incense and plum, but this is too dry and slightly sour to my nose.
-
Powdery white sandalwood and sharp, perfumey white musk with a hint of lemony bergamot. Fades very quickly.
-
The tonka, ambrette and golden musk swirl together into a warm, lightly sweet, ton of musky baby powder. Reminds me a little of British Blondes, but this is more powdery and less sweet than Blondes.

Dead Leaves and Desolation Atmosphere Spray
Blood onmy hands replied to AmyO'Shields's topic in Atmosphere
Smells like green, damp, sharp leaves rather than dead ones to me, and has that musky, men's cologne quality. Too sharp and musky to me. -
Smells like Febreze to me. Very much a fresh, clean laundry scent with a floral detergent edge.
-
I was excited for this, but the vetiver is the smoky, harsh variety that I rarely enjoy. It overtakes the other notes and just makes me smell like I've been sitting next to a bonfire.
-
The vanilla musk smells like white musk on me, and a very sour, sharp, chemical white musk, with not much vanilla. It almost wants to go soapy on my skin. It smells similar to the musk I disliked so much in Edith Cushing, but I sold my bottle of that one and can't directly compare. The white tea smells sharp and citrusy. The freesia is cheap, screechy, and slightly soapy. It kind of reminds me of Bath and Body Works. Mrs. Dunbar is very bright and sharp on me, with a soapiness in the drydown. Not enough vanilla for me.

As with most blends with red musk in them, this amps up to epic red musk on my skin, even though it's supposed to just be "a drop of" musk, lol. It's tons of warm, sweet, sultry red musk, which always reminds me of wine and incense. The only other note that I can pick out is the sandalwood, and it's unfortunately very baby powdery on me here. There are definitely red musk blends that I like more than this one, and I was hoping for vanilla and mallow, but they never show up to the party.

Astringent, cold, sharp, medicinal black tea and a dry, splintery, bitter, dusty/powdery sandalwood. It's not sweet at all on my skin, and I find that tea scents are very difficult to wear, because I don't like the bitter, sharp edges that they often have. The drydown is all dusty/powdery sandalwood, and it smells very thin and sharp.
