This is a soft floral aquatic that I like and can wear. That is really all that I need to say about this one, I think.
-
Wow...of the "soft pretty white florals" in this series, this one is definitely my favorite - there is something round and vanilla-like that evens this up to my nose and gives my not-so-big-on-the-white-florals self more to work with.
-
This was almost almondy at first to my nose. Odd...then it becomes a pretty light aquatic floral.
-
I really really wanted to love this, as "Alone" is one of my favorite Poe poems...but patchouli and I have a strange love affair and in this blend he is just not behaving, making me feel like a walking head shop. Really, darling, it's not you - it's me.
-
A very pretty sweet floral - not terribly "me" as I tend toward the heavier, darker stuff, but really very lovely.
-
I really like the spicy sharpness of this - it was not nearly as heavy as I'd expected and the jasmine actually behaves, allowing the other notes to play on my skin. This is not a scent that I wear regularly, but I have held on to my decant after all...

Cherry wood, almonds and smoke - this smells so much like what I had hoped the 05 version would smell like that it slmost made me tear up when I first smelled it...
-
Citrusy herbal floral love... I am not a huge floral fan, and tend to get very scared off by anything "night blooming", but I have discovered that as long as "jasmine" doesn't follow that phrase, I adore Beth's evening floral blends. Chiroptera is no exception...the added shot of herbs and citrus, favorites of mine anyway, certainly do not hurt my love of this blend.

Herbal sweet musk. I was initially scared off by this scent, because I was unsure just how flowery "Irish blossoms" would be. Now I know they are fresh grassy herbal smelling. Damn.

This was a sweet, spicy, herbal blend to my nose, evocative of rain over the deserts of the American west, but not immediately aquatic or wet to me - which is a good thing, as I have dodgy luck with aquatics and ozones. I like this quite a bit, actually.

Tried as part of the LE circular swap: This is very sweet and creamy and definitely true to its name, but is more subtle than I'd expected. I generally don't go in for the blends that smell like specific foods, but Egg Nog was surprisingly warm and nice on my skin - like an evocation of Nog, as opposed to a rendering of it. I really liked this and would love to be able to get more...

Mmm...musly, boozy, rich and sexy. Those are really the best words I can come up with for Storyville. This is a lovely rich scent - probably the sexiest foody scent I've ever sniffed, but with all of its fabulousness, it is just a tad too foody for everyday wear for me...

From reading the description, I knew I would love this plummy, woody, coconutty, creamy delightful blend of delishiousness...if only I could get my mits on more than just an imp...

Bright juicy spicy berries! This is the scent of holiday fruits - delightful, but something that is definitely tied to the season to me. I want to try it as a room scent but have not gotten around to it yet...

Sweet, fresh, sugary...this is a nice little scent, but not something I'm deeply in love with. I definitely like this better than the Absinthe GC, which was very astringent on me, but there is a floral note here that I'm amping, which saddens me, because I would love the honey, herbal lime that I'm seeing in some other reviews...

Mmmmmm...spicy alcoholic leather. Damn, that's a good thing. I have a decant of Spanked that doesn't get nearly the wear it should, because, dayum, I smell like dirty, stinky, boozy sex when I wear it (and I mean that in the best possible way ). This is definitely not an office or playdate sort of scent. But it is awfully good...

I love this, and bought some based on the early reviews ages ago...I've put off reviewing it because...well, because sometimes it is harder to review the scents you love the most, I think. Hellion is a deep, rich, smoky, spicy complex scent. It is in the same family as Mme. Moriarty and Red Phoenix and falls in between them I think - whereas Red Phoenix is very dry and spicy, and Mme. M is more sweet and juicy, Hellion is more of a middle ground. I love this scent, I truly do, and am treasuring my 10ml...

I tried this at a meet and sniff and it is pure fudgie brownie. I can see why the chocolate scent lovers are all over this one, but while I love the scent of brownies, I prefer to wear them on my thighs, rather than on my wrists.

Rich and spicy - definitely a winter forest scent, but so much more - Yule is not static, it is dark and mysterious and changing...a deep dark green scent, with spikes of rich spice and tart fruit...this is a beautiful scent, the essense of winter.
-
Mmm...sweet red musk, rich leather, and just enough piny woods to give it a Yuletide vibe...delish on me...can't wait to sniff on the hubby...
-
Sarada, I want to know how you calculated that.

Last year's resurrected scents did have the old style catalogue lables. I think this is a situation where the Lab just can't please everyone - if they don't put special labels on every special release, then some people are disappointed, and if they do, then some people are disappointed. So they have to go with what ever spirit moves or is practical at the time. I think this years resurrected labels are gorgeous, but I don't really care if all of my catalogue scents look the same. Likewise, I love the asture Yuletide lables, which seem very fitting to the mood of this years series... But I can also understand why if you were expecting something else with a collection asthetic, it could be disappointing.

Thick, sweet, but a sophistocated sweetness - honey, tobacco, wine grapes - heady and intoxicating. This is in my personal scent family of Skuld and Glasya, me thinks...similar, but definitely it's own hellbound animus.
-
Yule-at-the-Lab snowy pine, but sweet this time...warmed with the fruit wood and the fruit itself, the apple is sweet, the almond creamy, and all luscious and light.
-
Sweet pine...I found it hard to describe this one in my head as I tried it, but I really like it...it is green and verdant and herbal and just chilly enough to feel very fresh and clean. I really enjoyed smelling this on my wrists as I wore it...
