I've always said Bee-pal unless I'm talking to someone who doesn't know about the lab and then I use the full name. On the other hand I always thought it was L-O-L cats until I heard it said LAWL cats, which just strikes me as bizarre. The Dana O'Shee thing has been troubling me for a while, so I'm glad to see it being discussed without me having to do too much digging. I've been pronouncing R'lyeh as ruh-LAY cos that's how it's sung in Shoggoth on the Roof, but that could have been for rhyming purposes and rul-YEH looks like it might be a better match. What about Xanthe? Is it ZAN-thee like I've been saying or is the X more of an S or what? I do kinda wish there was a way to limit a search to an individual thread. *sigh*

I was wondering about that, myself. I got squirts of Down the Rabbit Hole and Dungeon and while DtRH was overpowering I couldn't smell Dungeon at all, even after several sprays. I finally resorted to spraying a towel and sniffing that to see if there was any scent at all. The first few whiffs all I got was a strong chemical smell which I assume is the other stuff added in to make it a room spray. On drydown I finally caught a scent, but all it reminded me of was dirt. Slightly floral, maybe, but definitely dirt... and I had to practically stuff my nose into the towel in order to smell it. I almost wondered if it hadn't somehow picked up a hint of DtRH through osmosis while sitting in the same box. Or maybe the towel had just been sitting around too long. I'm disappointed. I'd been hoping for something a little more seductive than dirt. Guess I'll have to see about tracking down a decant somewhere...

Oopsies, that's my fault. When I tried out Experimental Blend # 1 (which I eventually sold to Wikkid) it smelled a lot like Snake Oil, only richer. Kinda sweet, kinda warm& spicy, it reminded me of a lush jungle setting... with snakes. Being a fan of the Aztec pantheon, I figured "Feathered Snake Oil" was a good identifier, so I made up a cheesy label and slapped it on... and forgot to remove it when I shipped it on to Wikkidraven. Sorry for causing any confusion.

Dunno why, but for me it smells like roses steeped in alcohol. Or maybe it's just the intoxicating effect of the roses. It's a lovely, light scent with just a hint of madness underneath to keep it interesting. Definitely a keeper.

CDLXXVIII (478) Forgive my complete inability to distinguish notes. I love smellies, but I'm not so good at knowing exactly what I'm smelling. MINT is the first and strongest impression and it never quite fades. There are also some pretty heavy florals mixed in which kinda take a stranglehold on your throat. I did manage to wear it long enough to notice that after drydown a vanilla-y scent started to break through the wall of minty florals, but not strongly enough to save it for me and I couldn't manage to wear it for more than ten minutes on my second try. This is so not my kinda scent at all. I'd much prefer a nice, smokey incence-y or even sweet scent. *sigh* But I guess that's what swapping and the eventual CT3 are for. *g*
