Sandalwood and jasmine. Yeah, it's not working on me. All I can smell is sandalwood and lemon, nothing else, and I'm just not liking it... Oro

    Arcana

Very sharp and green when wet, soapy too. Reminds me of something poisonous, but i can't remember which plant. Is there lavender in this?? gah, don't know if I can wait for drydown...everytime I sniff my wrist the plant comes to mind, I just can't remember what it's called.. Drydown 10 min: Oh thank goodness, something lemony is cutting through, but that awful salty, soapy bitterness remains. 20 min: woodsmoke? Eh? There's something sweet in the background now, too. Overall: Um, no. This reminds me of a white flower that grows on a bush commonly used in shrubbery. The flowers are pretty, but they smell just like this...stomach turningly awful. And the thing is, it doesn't smell like, y'know, a diaper or anything remotely like that, it's just extremely unpleasant on me. Oro

Woodsy and dry. Cedar and sandalwood with other stuff that I can just barely sniff. This doesn't morph on me whatsoever, just fades to a lovely and austere dryness. I think this might work better on someone of the male persuasion, but I might use it for meditation, too. Oro

    All Saints'

Erm...I smell like a cookie? Should I be smelling like a cookie? A cookie with rosewater...and strong florals, but as it dries down, it's all cookie...with rosewater. Reminds me of cooking with rosewater and saffron...it's okay, nothing I find the need to buy a bottle of, however. Oro

    Death

Sandalwood? It's very very dry, but not sweet. There's something else in here, too...frankincense? Something woody, at any rate. I can honestly say I don't care for this. It's so dry the inside of my nose feels like paper, not a pleasant feeling. So. I think I'll wear this only when I'm working with the card, it's too...yucky (sorry!) otherwise. Oro

    Judgement

Patchouli or dark musk with a hint of Dragon's Blood? Something sweet, in any case. I'm not sure I like this one...I won't say I dislike it, either, but I'm glad I only have an imp. Oro

    Dee

Hmm, I smell ambergris with a hint of cinnamon?! Could it be tonka? Or the leather? How odd. As time passes it becomes very peppery with just the merest twinge of...not smoke, but the way that you walk into a room after incense is burned, that after smoke scent...and then, far after that, it's old, comfortable leather, oh so slightly sweet, like good pipe tobacco. Yeah, I'm liking it. Oro

    The Ghost

Hmm, this starts out soft and, well, ghost-like. It's definitely cold, a stand-offish scent, almost haughty in its demeanor. It's such a white floral, and high, but the highness is tempered so it's a little...damp, rather than wet. I love it, although I don't know when I'd wear it other than a springtime twilit eve. Oro

    Libertine

Wet, I can smell violet and primrose, and a hint of lime. This is quite violetty and rosey, but it's also very gentle, or should that be genteel? I can see an 18th century dandy wearing this at Versailles. On drydown it gets rosier, but I can tell this isn't a white or tea rose that's going to go all soapy and high. Although that might be down to the rosewood, chamomile, and musk doing an admirable job of restraint. Overall: This is a fantastic oil that is primarily rose-but-not-rose on my skin. I don't know it I'll be getting a bigger bottle of it, but I'm sorely tempted. eta: updated with a better review. Oro

    Severin

Hmm, lemon with a twist of alcohol that grows stronger as it dries. I'm not getting any tea or leather, but I really like this. Must make Mr Oro wear it Oro

    Fruit Moon

Wet: Reminds me of overripe melons, with a hint of grapefruit. Drydown: Um, the same, but lighter...Mr Oro loves it on me, but I'm not all that fond of it... Oro

    Ingenue

A sweet and gentle aquatic that remains true on my skin from imp to drydown. I'm bummed it's discontinued! This is just lovely, perfect for spring...gah, must search out more, methinks. Oro

    #20 Love Oil

:nervous ummm: I get almonds and...neroli, I think, at first, and 10minutes later the rose comes through. I suspect there's jasmine in here too. Something in her reminds me of Queen of Sheba, which is...well, I think it's the neroli or orange blossom, but my skin just isn't taking to it. Hours later it smells rosey and wonderful, so I think I'll keep my imps. Oro

    Whitechapel

Lemony, and something that smells like fresh sweat. Dries down to being Dana O'Shee with...stuff. The Stuff is vaguely spicy, but I can't tell what it might be. I think I like it as one of those oils I'd grab because I can't decide what else t wear. Oro

    Niflheim

Oo, this smells smokey and sweet at first, then dries down to a coldly sweet vanilla-y floral. It's nice, but I don't think I'll get any more. Oro

    Sybaris

Erm, smells like grape soda, with a bit of smoke? Hours later and I can smell the cloves and violet, but it's incredibly faint. Having said that, I really, really, really like this...might go for a bottle. Or at least another imp. In fact, could this be the BPAL viol;et scent that I adore??? Oro

    Antony

At first this is all musky and ambery with a hint of smoke, quite strong, too. Then it goes green, which I assume is the sage and basil, but a couple of hours later it fades to something ethereal...mellow, but not at all thin. I really like this, it reminds me of a less sweet Coyote, actually. Don't think I'll buy a bottle, but I'll definitely use up the imp. Oro

    White and "Light" Musk Recommendations

Your top six are great, even though Sudha Segera and O don't work on my. For my own list I'd probably have: 1. Snake Oil 2. Antique Lace 3. Tamora 4. Black Pearl 5. Zephyr 6. Leanan Sidhe Oro

    Hamadryad

Reminds me of tea, a green scent with cinnamon in the background. It's very strong, though, and I nearly made myself ill when I did my usual slathering. Which, I might add, is difficult to do with an imp. It stayed true on my skin throughout work and has finally faded to nothingness after about 7 hours. It's nice, but I think I'll stick with my imp. eta: I got a quick hint of lemon in here, but it was just the odor of lemon tea, rather than lemons or citrus, if that makes any sense. Oro

    Delphi

D'you like wine? And incense? With a little honey? D'you wonder what it would be like to consult the Oracle of Delphi? I used to, but no longer. This is holy smoke, and put me in such a mood that I don't believe I'll ever wear it outside of the house or, indeed, outside of ritual. This is the oil I imagined Hecate would be. When I sniff the back of my hand...I'm in the presence of the Gods. Oro

    Beatrice

Hrm. This starts out almost non-existent, a very slightly sweet watery smell, but once on the skin immediately starts developing into a soft floral which I really liked. Unfortunately, Beatrice eventually turned into powder, powder like this particular perfume that I used to wear ages ago. Actually, it's not just 'like' that perfume, it is that perfume...which I wasn't terribly fond of. Can't remember what it was called, either. So, yeah, this is nice, especially in the wet and initial drydown stages. However, I don't really like the ultimate drydown, and I'm really bummed about that, because I don't think I'll be keeping either bottle. Oro

    Cordelia

Wet: Is there sandalwood or vetiver in this? Smells woodsy-resiny with a floral on top...but thankfully that deep note goes away, leaving a sultry sweetness. (hmm, must have been the cedar...but I like cedar, and it likes me! Maybe it's the musk??) Drydown (coupla hours): It's quite nice, but I don't know if I'll be able to get past the initial stages. Oro

    Desdemona

Hmm...honeysuckle, with a hint of citrus? Goes on the hand very cool...or is it linden?! soft throw at first, but then it does increase... THere's a powdery sweet finish to this, but overall it doesn't last long, a couple of hours by my nose. Oro

    Regan

Wet and initial drydown: Ah, very creamy and oh-so-slightly sweet. It's not vanilla-y to my nose, but it does have that same kind of soft 'n' gentle resonance. I'll have to try it again when it's colder outside. Reminds me of Avon's SkinSoSoft, in fact it's reall a skin scent more than anything else...nice. Overall: Hours later, this turns into an even softer scent, but loses the SSS aspect. On me it doesn't smell vanilla-y, but again, there is just a very gentle sweetness that isn't overtly floral. I like it, but I'm not sure I'll ever wear it again, if you know what I mean. Oro
  25. Orodemniades

    Tamora

Wet: I smell grape or pomegranate and patchouli? Drydown four hours later: Oddly, this scent has just gotten stronger over time. It's not raw, mind, like oils are straight from the imp, but it is strong. I can't put my fingers on the notes, but I really like this and will definitely use the imp. Oro
