    Cheshire Cat

In the imp vial, I get grapefruit and lavender. Wet on the skin, it's sugared lemon. Must be the citrus in the grapefruit turning lemon on my skin. Dries to a musky, powdery lemon. No floral and for some reason, my skin makes the grapefruit turn to lemons. I still it though.

    Kali

... This perfume is a blend of the sacred blooms of cassia, hibiscus, musk rose, Himalayan wild tulip, lotus and osmanthus swirled with offertory dark chocolate, red wine, tobacco, balsam and honey. In the imp, I smell chocolate and wine. Very rich scent. Wet on the skin, floral and wine mostly. Dries to a soft floral, chocolate, honeyed wine. I like it.

    The Dodo

In the imp vial, smells like cinnamon sugar. Wet on my skin, it's a musky floral---totally different from sniffing the imp. As it dries, it's hard to pick out any dominant notes...I feel like I can smell them all on my skin. Very complex on my skin.

    Blood Rose

In the imp, this is a sweet red wine. Wet on the skin, mostly rose and wine. Upon drying, it becomes sweet rose wine. I'm not usually a big fan of roses unless they are tempered with vanilla, sugar, or cream. The Dragon's blood definitely sweetens enough to make this a pleasant scent on my skin.

    Coyote

Inside the imp, this is a woodsy musk. Wet on the skin, much the same....as it dries the amber comes out. Dries out to wood, amber, and musk. Not unpleasant, but not really my kind of scent.

    Dragon's Musk

Dominant, passionate, devastating. Dragon’s blood and five deep musks. In the imp vial, it's mainly dragon's blood, but once applied to the skin, it's a beautiful sweet musk. Love it!

    Hollywood Babylon

In the bottle, I get cherry, vanilla, and yummy red musk. Wet on the skin, I can smell the strawberry now too. As it dries, the amber emerges, but this is still a beautiful musky fruity oil. Definitely bottle-worthy for me.
  8. It will go through, it's just that the lab gets hit with fees twice when you use Paypal through CC Now. They are charged the fees through CCNow and again through Paypal. I think it happens quite a bit with newbies, so don't sweat it too bad. The order will still go through all right.

What do bottles and labels look like?

I bought Gelt, Head of Holofernes, Butter Rum Cookie, and Snow White. And, other than Snow White, they are all dark. Also took a pic of the 2 Wind In the Willows oils I received in my lab order today.

Serpents with Glittering Eyes and Forky Tongues

In the bottle, I smell mainly lime, currant, and herbs. Wet on the skin, mostly citrus. As it dries, the citrus is still dominant, but now I get sort of a snake oil blend with it and as it dries further, I get the currant & herb notes back. A very refreshing, clean scent. Will be a perfect Spring-time oil.

    Prunella

Of all the new Marchen oils that debuted last month, this was my most anticipated. In the bottle, it's vanilla and plums. Wet on the skin, a bit more floral than I normally like...I seemed to be amping the wildflower note. Fortunately, the more it dried, the more the floral note was suppressed and I am left with creamy plum berries with just a hint of floral. I really like this & believe it will be a keeper, especially as it ages.

    Mourning Moon

In the bottle, orange and grapefruit. Wet on skin, still got the orange and grapefruit, but I am also picking up the musk. As it dries, I smell vanilla drizzled on the orange and grapefruit and still smell a light musk. I am not really getting any woodsy notes, and I can barely smell any floral. It's most creamy citrus blended with musk.

    Gelt

Choco-holics look no further. Gelt is a chocolate lover's dream. In the bottle, it's a deep, dark chocolate scent. Not bitter, but not creamy sweet either. Wet on the skin, it's nutty chocolate. As it dries, it remains much the same on my skin. This reminds we a lot of the decant of Spooky I have, except without the peppermint. I think if you blended Gilt with Lick It..., you might get something close to Spooky. This may be worthy of a back-up bottle.

    Snow White

2008 Version In the bottle, this is a creamy floral--more creamy than floral. I had a 2005 version of this I recently swapped and was missing it so I ordered the 2008 version when Yules went live. This smells very similar to the bottle of '05 I previously had. The scent on my skin is much the same as it is in the bottle. The creaminess overpowers the floral and leaves me with a soft, cool, dreamy scent. As it dries further, I get a bit of woods blending with the vanilla. Very nice.

    Butter Rum Cookie

In the bottle, smells like butterscotch schnapps. Wet on the skin, I get buttery rum, sugar, and almond. The butter rum sort of disappears after a while and I'm left with more of cinnamon orange scent on my skin, which is still quite pleasant. Definitely evokes the holiday spirit while wearing it.

The Piper at the Gates of Dawn

Arrived today...had to try it out. In the bottle, I can smell the patchouli faintly, but mostly woods and orange, equally balanced. Wet on the skin, this is a very balanced scent. Nothing really overpowers anything else. I worried about the patchouli note because I tend to amp that and don't really like it, but it's perfectly balanced with the other notes. As it dries, the predominant notes on my skin are orange, pine, honey, very light musk, and amber. Another lovely scent that could be worn anytime and anywhere.

    The Gaoler's Daughter

My order arrived today! In the bottle, I get a creamy gardenia scent. Gardenia is one of the few florals I really like. Wet on my skin, I still smell the Gardenia (but it's not an overpowering floral scent) and I can smell the peach blending with the vanilla/honey. It's a very subtle scent. Definitely something you could wear anywhere. As it dries, I can pick out the amber, but it is a minor note for me, no overpowering amber-ness on my skin. On dry-down, it's just a beautiful creamy gardenia that is softened by the peach & honey notes. Even if florals are not your thing, it might be worth trying a decant of this, because it really is a lovely scent.

    Sugar Skull

This is all sugar! As it dries, it smells oddly like pancake syrup on my skin. Maybe there's some brown sugar in the notes? Anyway, I still love it and it lasts...applied it over 122 hours ago and it's still going strong.

    Punkie Night

In the bottle, apple cider. On my skin, still apple cider, but the cranberry note comes out as it begins to dry on my skin. Very smooth, warm scent.

    Pumpkin Queen

I purchased a bottle of this blindly based on the notes and reviews. All I can say is money very well spent. In the bottle, it's a spicy pumpkin scent. After applying to my skin, I get pumpkin, orange, and what I believe is the amber. It's a beautiful fall scent and has aged wonderfully. As it dries, I can smell the orange note more and more. Wow, I just love this!

    Huesos De Santo

I'm just now getting around to reviewing this... In the bottle, it's mostly sugar and bit like vinegar when I sniff. Upon application, it's the yummiest orange & spice cake ever. Dries down to orange and sugar....this is a great scent to slather on one's self.

    Different smells/colors, same perfume

I recently swapped to get a bottle of The Cracked Bell which I adore after sampling a decant from someone else. Right after I swapped, someone contacted me and sold me their bottle of The Cracked Bell (in addition to the bottle I swapped for with someone else.) As much as I love this scent and the fact that they're really hard to come by, I jumped all over it. Well, the bottle I swapped for smells just like the decant I had tried previously and loved. The bottle I purchased though seems to have an almost vinegar smell to it, both in the bottle and when I apply it. It's not bad, but vastly different from the other bottle and decant that I had initially fallen in love with. Given that both of the bottles should be approximately the same age, why would the one have a vinegar quality to it? Any thoughts?

    Pumpkin I (2008)

Spicy pumpkin. I really adore this blend. I never would have tried it were it not for receiving a frimp of it that spurred me to get a bottle. I get mainly coconut, pumpkin, and the spiciness I attribute to the myrrh.

    Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2006)

Admittedly, I was a bit worried about the patchouli note. My skin is funny with patchouli. Sometime it's okay and other times it kills all other notes...and I really don't like patchouli smell. This, however, has it as a very, very minor note on my skin. The musk blends nicely with plum and vanilla to make it a very pleasant oil on my skin.

    Fruit Moon

Raspberry, peach, strawberry, and citrus. Sweet but actually not overwhelmingly so, as you might think. Unfortunately, doesn't have much staying power on me. Still, I love this blend, so I may have to keep it anyway.
