    Hunger

I bought a bottle of this blind from the lab based on the reviews. I think I need to let it age... Sniffing the bottle and applied wet to my skin, it reeks of vetiver to me. No vanilla, no orange blossom... The vetiver-ness eased a bit after it dried fully, but I'm just not getting that lovely vanilla and orange blossom everyone raves about. Maybe it's my skin chemistry or maybe it's because it's not had time to age... I'm not going to dismiss it yet. I'll store this away for a couple months and bring it back after it's had some time to age a bit and see what happens.

    Bastet's Laughter

This is such a happy scent to wear. Sniffing from the bottle, it's orange bubblegum scented. Wet on my skin it starts out smelling like cinnamon, bubblegum, orange/tangerine, apricot scented...and a little boozy. Dries down several hours to a soft creamy, citrusy fruit scent. Within an hour of applying it, my mood was lifted considerably and this was while working on a PITA work-related project. Here's hoping the good fortune is just around the corner.

    Sugar-Slathered Candied Apple

Sniffing the bottle, it's a very strong caramel apple scent. Wet on my skin, it starts out mostly just crisp sweet apple. As it begins to dry the caramel really comes out. By the time it's dry, it's almost entirely caramel on my skin with a trace amount of apple. I love it and am glad I was able to get another bottle after swapping my prior bottle several months back.

    Succubus

Sniffing the imp, it's orange blossom and herb. Wet on the skin, it's still orange blossom and green herb. It's bittersweet on my skin. As it dries, the herb smell is gone and I'm just left with orange blossom. Very strongly floral on my skin.

    Phantom

Sniffing the imp, it's mainly musk and ylang ylang. Wet on my skin, I can smell the myrrh, musk, and ylang ylang. Very sweet scent. No rose though. As it dries, it remains much the same except I can smell the rose now, but it's dusty and definitely not a dominant note on my skin. I like it, but not enough for a bottle..

    Thorns

Sniffing the imp, it's a bitter metallic blood scent. Wet on my skin, same scent...bitter blood that takes on a vetiver quality to it. I like blood scent, but need something softer to temper the bitterness. I had to wash this off before it really dried. Reeks too much of vetiver.

    Event Horizon

Sniffing the imp, it's a dark seductive opium blend. Very resinous. Wet on my skin, it's opium, dark musk, and benzoin. This is a very dark scent, but is sweetened enough that it blends well on my skin. This has a lot of throw in it and dries to much the same scent as it was wet on my skin. I will definitely keep the imp for now...and comtemplate a bottle.

    Port Royal

Sniffing the imp, it's a very spicy booze scent. Wet on my skin, definitely spiced rum & wood and smoke. Dries down to spicy wood. Interesting, but not something I need a bottle of.

    Jezebel

Sometimes I think the lab is psychic. I've been on an orange blossom kick for a couple weeks now and my latest lab order came with 2 frimps that contain Orange Blossom within. This is one of them. Sniffing the imp, it's a honey sweet orange blossom. Very feminine and delicate. Wet on my skin, the scent remains true..sweet orange blossom. And now the sandalwood come out. Surprisingly, the rose is nowhere to be sniffed. Very unusual for me because I generally amp rose notes and have to be careful with any oils containing any hint of rose. It's drying down nicely and I am now getting faint whiffs of rose, but it's very faint. This is still honey sweetened orange blossom and sandalwood. I love this blend and believe there is probably a bottle of it in my future. At the very least, I intend to hoard this imp until I do decide to buy a full bottle. Thanks labbies! Another winner.

    Red Moon 2007

... Our blend for this Moon mixes traditional lunar oils with the warmth of amber, red musk, and heliotrope, the russet haze of dragon's blood resin, sunflower, and crushed orange peel, with a dusting of summertime herbs: chamomile, rue, elder flower and marigold. Sniffing the bottle, it's red musk, dragon's blood, amber, and heliotrope. Wet on my skin, I'm picking up the red musk, amber, heliotrope, dragon's blood, and orange peel. This scent is reminding me a lot of The Haunted Palace, except not quite as sweet. Dries down to a spicy red musk, heliotrope, and amber. I love this scent and glad I took a chance buying a bottle without having tried it previously.

    Velvet Cthulhu

This was another late addition to my last lab order. Sniffing the bottle, this is a fresh green herbal scent. Wet on my skin, it's mint tea and sage mostly. It's a shower-fresh scent on my skin. As it dries, I can now pick out the cedar, myrrh, and frankincense notes. Goes a bit dusty for a few minutes....and then dries back down to minty green tea, frankincense, & myrrh.

    Velvet Bandito

First, I will start off that I never would have ordered a bottle of this were it not for the reviews. When I first saw the notes including Dust & Tumbleweeds, I figured it was another dirt scent that really doesn't work on my skin most of the time. After reading the reviews, I decided to try it and added it to my last lab order. Sniffing the bottle, it is a dusty spice scent. Wet on my skin, it's spicy clove and cedar. It reminds me of potpourri for the first few minutes after application. As it begins to dry, that dusty note I picked up sniffing the bottle is back, but it's not acting like the traditional dust notes usually do on my skin. As it dries more, it's smoky sweet tobacco and cedar with cloves. I like this blend and think it will age marvelously. Definitely the surprise hit for me with the Velvet line.

    Springtime scents

I just tried Paris for the first time a couple weeks ago and it definitely makes me think of Spring. And I agree that Agape is a great Spring scent.

    Gooey Pillowcase Atmospheric Spray

I finally got around to trying this spray and OMG it's like heaven. I smell buttery caramel, chocolate, a faint bit of pumpkin, and sugary-glaze sweetness. It makes the air around you smell like a decadent 1000 calorie dessert.

    Herr Drosselmeyer

Sniffing the bottle, it's tobacco, anise, and wood. On the skin, it's much the same as it was in the bottle, but after a few minutes goes weirdly sour on my skin. Sadly, this is not working on me.

    Motley

Sniffing the bottle, it reminds me a bit of Robitussin. Wet on the skin, it's fruity mushroom. Dry it's nearly all champaca and myrrh on my skin. Think this one needs to settle and age a bit before I make my final decision whether I like it or not.

    Marotte

Sniffing the bottle, I pick up the pear definitely and a bit of fig. Wet on the skin, it's pear, amber, and patchouli. I concur that there is a metallic tinge to it as well. As it begins to dry and settle on my skin, I'm left with patchouli, musk, moss, and spicy pear. It's going a bit powdery on my skin. Fully dry, the patchouli is gone and I am back to pear and fig and wood. No more spice or musk. Very soft scent once fully dry. On my skin, this dries to a very gender-neutral blend.

    Coxcomb

Sniffing the bottle, I smell mostly musk and frankincense. Wet on the skin, the frankincense is apparent more than any other note. I also smell the musk and something with an amber quality. I'm not really picking up the red currants at all. The sage is more prominent as it begins to dry on my skin. It's nearly dry now on my skin and I finally get a bit of the red currant, a very small bit. I had hoped the currant note would be stronger in this blend. It's a lovely incense blend, but I am not sure it will ultimately be a keeper for me.

    Metal Phoenix

Sniffing it, I can pick out the Chinese musk, carnations and honeysuckle right away. On my skin, I can smell the metal now and the musk and carnations. I agree that even with the metal note, this is a very delicate scent. Soft, but with a little edge.

La Bella Donna Della Mia Mente

Sniffing the imp, it's light aquatic floral scent. I can pick out the rose and peach blossom just sniffing the oil. Applied to my skin, it's roses and something else...I'm not sure what Myrtle and Melilot smell like, but maybe that's it. As it dries, I can smell the peach blossom again. Roses stay with it from wet to dry. The aquatic note keeps the florals softer and more subdued on my skin.

    Okiya Atmosphere Spray

This is just a perfect blending of Cherry Blossom and Green Tea. A very uplifting scent.

    Tavern of Hell

Sniffing the imp, it's gardenia, wood, and tobacco. On my skin, gardenia is still dominant, but I can detect a glimmer of the orange blossom. The woodiness is gone and tobacco note is very faint. As it dries more, I can now smell the lavender note. Drys down to just floral on me. OK, but not really me.

    The Jersey Devil

Sniffing the imp, I'm initially smelling mostly pine and cedar. Wet on my skin, pine, cedar, & cranberry. This is a spicy woodsy scent with just enough fruit in it to keep it from becoming too masculine. On dry down, this does turn a bit into air freshener on my skin. I can't really smell the blackberry leaf, but cedar and pine remain the dominant notes on my skin.
  24. I just tried The Music of Erich Zahn yesterday and it is definitely evil (at least on my skin ). You've got to be a big fan of Vetiver to be able to enjoy it though. Djinn and Iago also come to mind. All of these are too overpowering for me though. I prefer ghostly, haunting scents that aren't so overpowering. Among my favorites that I find are: The Chilling Cellar The House The Haunted Palace Haunted On Darkness

    Bloodlust

This is like the 6th frimp from my most recent lab order with vetiver in it. Sadly, vetiver is my least favorite note...but I'm always willing to try another blend...so here goes... Sniffing the imp, I get mostly dragon's blood and vetiver. Wet on my skin, it's vetiver, patchouli, and a minor note of dragon's blood. No surprise that I had to wash this off almost immediately...it's just not a pleasant scent on my skin.
