Very sweet blend. Smells like cola on my skin while wet. Myrrh comes out on the dry down and gives it a powdery quality.
-
I'm getting orris root, incense, and sandalwood. Orris root being the strongest note. I like it, but this is a bit too masculine for me to wear myself. Might be nice on the hubby though.

Bleh, jasmine and sour musk on my skin.
-
On the skin, this is a lovely honey and red wine scent. Bold and just sweet enough for my tastes.
-
ozone and citrus....and sweet floral all mixed together on my skin.
-
Wet on the skin, lots of tea rose. As it dries, here comes the jasmine....and the cat pee smell. This one will be frimped to someone else in the hopes it works better for them than it did for me.

I'm getting a distinct fabric softener scent with this blend. It's definitely a fresh scent and very pleasant to smell, but it reminds me too much of laundry for me to wear it as a perfume.

White Chocolate, Black Raspberry, and Apricot Cordial Truffle
angelicruin replied to thekittenkat's topic in Lupercalia
Glorious sweet apricot, raspberry, and chocolate while wet. Apricot note is really strong at first. As it dries, it goes a little plasticky on my skin and the apricot starts to smell like the old Strawberry Shortcake Apricot doll from the 80's. Once dry, the raspberry and chocolate notes strengthen and help balance the scent on my skin. -
White Chocolate, Strawberry, and White Pepper Truffle
angelicruin replied to thekittenkat's topic in Lupercalia
Mmmm, this is yummy smelling. I'll agree with the description of the strawberry note being more like strawberry sauce, than actual strawberry. White chocolate layers with it very nicely. It's little spicy smelling to me and maybe that's the white pepper effect. Yes, definitely a must try for the foody scent lovers, like myself. -
Milk Chocolate, Coconut, Cardamom, Rum, and Ginger Truffle
angelicruin replied to TheIceMaiden's topic in Lupercalia
Whoa heavy GINGER note in this one. Very, very strong note on my skin. While it's wet, I'm smelling ginger, rum, and chocolate. I smell a little cardamom on dry down, but never really any of the coconut note. -
Milk Chocolate and Matcha Green Tea Ganache Truffle
angelicruin replied to TheIceMaiden's topic in Lupercalia
Green tea and lemon on my skin. The chocolate note is very subtle on my skin in this blend. I do pick up the chocolate a little easier as it begins to dry more, but remains mostly a citrus green tea scent on me. -
Very very boozy! A rich deep chocolate cocoa note with strong whiskey and cognac. The whiskey note being by far the strongest on my skin.
-
Wet on my skin, I'm getting all lime and no chocolate note. Yes, very similar to Scurvy prototype. As the lime note mellows a bit, I get some chocolate at last. Definitely going to be one of my Luper 2010 favorites.
-
I have to concur this is a boozy honey vanilla scent. Very sweet, but I love the sweet blends, so that's just fine with me.
-
Sharp blood and wine on my skin with a smoky undertone. No cherry for me and the rose and plum notes are barely there.
-
On my skin, ginger, florals and lime peel. This is very green on me and while I don't mind it much, it's just doesn't smell right on my skin. I think this may be up for swap or sale.

On my skin, this is bitter floral. I tend to enjoy sweeter blends, and this is just not working out for me. Amber and musk notes seem to be the strongest on me and I am also getting a blood note, or something similar, which I think might be the bitterness I am smelling on my skin. Blood notes just don't work on me like they used to when I first discovered BPAL.

Yes, this is boozy honeyed vanilla and tobacco on my skin. Tobacco note is pretty strong here. The mandarin note comes out as it begins to dry. There's something in this that is kind of peppery to my nose, but I can't quite place what it is.
-
Tangerine and Cypress are strong in this blend while wet on my skin. As it dries though, the cypress disappears and I am getting a lot of white musk and tangerine. Very nice blend and a good choice for me. I love citrus scents and this one does not disappoint.

I know this sounds like a lame review, but it really is honey and snake oil. I love BPAL's honey notes and Snake Oil is always a favorite for me, so this was definitely a purchase unsniffed. I love it now, and I know as it ages, it will become even more amazing. I'll concur with the review that this is sexy version of O. Very nice and very much a keeper.

On my skin, I'm getting cumin and clove and really no anise or mandarin, which were the reason I bought the bottle. I'm quite sad about how this is reacting to my skin. I'm going to let it settle some and hope that maybe the cumin, at least, calms down. I like cumin in baking, but not so much on my skin.
-
This is mainly light peach, amber, and myrrh on my skin. A little powdery, but nice. Not sure if I will keep the bottle though.
-
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this! But I am admittedly a lover of anise. On my skin, this is like the sexy, seductive version of Humbug. I see definitely hoarding of this scent in my future. I get no floral in this. Just anise, vanilla, and a bit of spice.

I'm getting wood notes, smoke, and incense on my skin. If there's vetiver in this one, it's strangely behaving itself. I usually amp vetiver (and not in a good way). Not to say that there aren't scents with vetiver in them that actually work on me, but it's very rare. I do like this blend, just not so much on me personally, because it's a bit too masculine for my tastes. It'd be nice on the hubby though.
