  1. I got this mostly for the frankincense and hyssop notes and I guess with the olive I expected something like Hanerot Halalu. Instead my skin came up with a rich olive-based scent with a floral tinge and a bit of spice. Thick and rich scent with good throw. Not something I'd reach for often, but very nice!

  2. Frack. Me.

    :wub2:

This stuff is amazing! I would bathe in this. God! I can't get over this scent. Srsly. Top ten. I'm pretty much raving about this, but it's not the feared and dreaded sasparilla meltdown I got from the Saloon #10 atmo spray (I think I was confusing sassafras with sasparilla...) Instead, it's the smoothest, richest vanilla musk - Black Lace in masculine form :thud:

  3. Ha! Another Hermia player here who wanted to try the scent of Hermia's SO :) Oddly creamy scent. Sweet, with a hint of light floral underneath. Both of those features might be coming from the lilac, I think. Musky, but as it dries it's going from masculine to a more unisex scent. Holy crap, I'm a sucker for musk, tonka, violet and benzoin, so odds were this was going to work. I'm relieved it didn't go the way of that heartbreaker Famine <cry> Keeper! (especially mixed with the Tombstone scent coming off my other arm - ye gods these two smell good together! )

  4. <Cough> Not quite what I was hoping for :ack: I was really aiming for pink pepper and amber but got a heavy dose of pink pepper and powdery flowers. Drat. The pepper was similar to the nice note in Hua Mulan (I think). I recently played Hermia in a production of Britten's opera, and this *is* a good scent picture of the character - plucky and devoted and sweet :) Lasted a good, long while. Just not my cup of tea.

  5. Juniper! One of my favorite notes. This really hit my nose in the imp and during the wet stage. Drying, though, it acquired a boozy note that diluted some of that gin-y goodness :( Went a bit down powder lane, actually. I'll have to try this again since I love gin so much and won't mind smelling like I poured some all over me one little bit ;)

  6. This is a surprisingly awesoem scent! I love juniper and benzoin so I wonder if that's what does it. I have a really hard time pinning down notes in this one - very well blended. The only thing I worry about is how light it is. It disappears pretty quick, but it may be worth re-applying since it's so nice :)

  7. Ecclesiastical incense, Roman flora, and the fruits of martyrdom: cypress, olive blossom, frankincense, myrrh, and blood accord.

This reminded me so much of The High Priest not to be Described - I think that one is an incense with chamomile - may be the Roman flora and olive blossom that give me the chamomile-y vibe. I thought blood may overwhelm this one, but not so! I like it very much - rich, dry incense livened up with some flora. Good times.

    Edit to add scent description

ETA: Oy. Skin chemistry change where I now amp clove like I'm covered in pickling spices :( Alas.

  8. Sweet forest scents with a good dash of berry in it . The sage dries the scent ot a bit and the musk roils around in the background. Very natural scent, but unfortunately it fades pretty quick on me. I'll have to keep testing this one.

  9. When will I ever learn that blood. doesn't. work on me. EVER! Rrrrrr... I love amber and was really crossing my fingers on these one (for pete's sake though, it's got blood in the fricking title.) What was I thinking? Not good to say the least. Sickly sweet and oddly floral like the blood note always is on me :(

  10. What a surprise! I was sure that her sister Vechernayaya would be my fave with the musk and all - but instead of a sneeze-fest like I got with her, Utrennyaya is a light, sweet, fresh and watery mix of something vaguely floral with sweet water and a dusty hint from the sandalwood. Fantastic :)

  11. I had a pretty good idea this wouldn't work on me since milk and honey notes can go very, very wrong. Unfortunately, this was a sickly sweet combo that never got going on my skin :( Rats. Sounds like a lovely scent on others, though!

  12. This was a real surprise on me! I immediately got a good dose of carnation and amber. It was the shandy or cider note that captivated me though :) This is sort of the Fall effect I was hoping for with Fearful Pleasure or Samhain - a boozy apple cider scent with a rich background. Great oil!

  13. This is a decant of Puck, so I'm not sure if it's original or resurrected. Either way it's sadly not my cup of tea. I actually like civet quite a bit, but not so much the grape note that overwhelms this scent on my skin :( too bad!
