Sweet, dewy grass, drooping flowers and a surprising lack of warmth. I have to say I prefer Summer Summoning with its coffee and incense, but if you want more grass and floral this is a good way to go. Pretty!
-
For all those strong notes, I didn't get very much scent from this. Mostly bitter olive and a little frankincense. I'll have to try this again and see if the patchouli and musk come out a little more.

Very, very pretty oil! I get a lot of golden honey out of this one mixed with some light aquatics and topped off with some sweet, light florals. Glad I have a bottle!
-
Very pretty, cool, slightly floral and green aquatic. Can't say I get the melon some reviews have mentioned. Nice, but not really my thing.

Yummmm a sweet, somewhiat mild oil with less pumpkin coming out in this one (which is good since I already have a few pumpkin-y bottles in Pumpkin II '08 and Pumpkin IV '07). I'm a fan of benzoin and it works well here making things a little dirty, but very pleasant! Keeper

Lovely tea rose and lily of the valley. Goes on a little sharp, but dries to a very sweet and claming scent. Good "curl up with a book and a cup of tea" blend.

This is one of the first Salons I've tried and I'm really impressed with how complex it smells! There was a dusty incense with a dark patchouli undertone at first. As it dried I could have sworn I was smelling a slightly bitter, herbal smell alot like celery seed (could be the geranium). Now that it's been on a few hours I smell a warm, red wine scent with quite a bit of fruit to it. Wow I can't wait to try more of these.

Yay, blood orange! I've been craving them since I tried my first one this summer. That's what comes through first and foremost in this blend, then a nice and spicy frankincense note comes through. Spicy, warm and good. Keeper.

I don't get a hack of a lot of rose out of this, mostly just incense. And a really, really good incense at that! Not quite the same as Midnight Mass or All-Saints, but a little in that vein. Slightly peppery. Adding it to my stash of yummy incense blends asap.

Since I love patchouli and I love vetiver I figured this would be a good one. Aaaand it's amazing! I may have put too much on, because this is strong stuff and I was a little paranoid about my classmates' noses - but this is so yummy Deep, dark patchouli with a viscious vetiver smack across the nose. Beautiful. Edit to say that this really reminds me of Villaness' Asphyxiate soap. I thought it was the Two-Headed Goat on my other arm, but now I think its' Umbra. Great combo together, btw.

Very dark and masculine as other reviews have said. It's very alluring to me, though. There's a subtle sweetness I'm really enjoying - great throw. I'm worried it will be too much for my classmates, but I really like it! Something about it reminds me of a Villainess soap - Asphyxiate, I think.

The scent description is much, much more complex than what I'm actually getting on my skin. I'm getting almost pure dry frankincense and myrrh. No flowers at all! Since I covet incense blends, this really appeals to me Lasted almost all night on my skin, too. This is the '06 version and I'm a big fan!

Leather and herbs it is. Similar to Hand of Glory, but instead of that one's cracked and dried, yellow leather - this one is a more supple, brown version if that makes sense. The herbs are a fresh, clear note that accompanies the warm leather very nicely! I think I prefer this to HoG, although my husband swears he smells pine in it and that's his death-by-perfume-allergy note. Guess I'll be wearing this one when he's not home

Dark, dark, dark! I remembered this had musk in it() and I definitely smelled it, but I never would have pegged this for red musk! Red musk either goes on me fantastically well, or very wierd. This was rich, rugged, with cedary tinges to it. Didn't last long, but a very sexy, dry blend.

Pure happiness in a bottle! This is so sweet and good - very, very reminiscent of Ashlultum for me (another fave). Hardly any rose in this one either, although I much prefer this one on its own to Red Rose on its own (darn clove!) Can't wait to layer these! Great throw, good staying power. Fabulous scent. Edit to say: I just mixed the two and Oh...My....GOD!!! My arm is practically edible from the get-go. This may be my top BPAL blend from now on. It's rich and complex with the frankincense and clove mixing just like stellans said in a fantastic and unexpected way. Love love love. Love.
-
There is hardly any rose at all in this while it's wet! Theeeeen comes the clove I amp that note like nobody's business and it gives blends a strong smell of pickling spice. I'm hoping the musk, fir, tonka, and tobacco will show up soon since they all = for me. Glad I have a decant! Edit to say: I just mixed this with its White Rose partner and Oh...My....GOD!!! My arm is practically edible from the get-go. This may be my top BPAL blend from now on. It's rich and complex with the frankincense and clove mixing just like stellans said in the White Rose reviews in a fantastic and unexpected way. Love love love. Love.

Very dry and very dusty even while wet. This dries to a sexy, dangerous smelling patchouli. Yay! I never get enough patchouli out of many of the BPAL blends and this straight shot of it is just what I wanted.

This smells exactly like a commercial perfume I used to have - although I can't remember if it's Estee Lauder Beautiful, or Celine Dion's perfume...It is a dead ringer, though unfortunately Crows and ravens have always been my spirit symbol, so I'm a little disappointed they came across so...flowery. Golden glow with floral notes.
-
This started out as a healthy dose of my beloved leather and tobacco, but a tide of flowery perfume has crept farther and farther into the mix until that's about all I'm getting. Flower perfume and a hard edge of clove. Slightly smoky.

I was really worried when I put this on and started smelling the early signs of Famine, who turns to sour vomit on me. I hadn't looked at the scent description yet and I kept thinking "you have lilac in you, don't you!" > Luckily this turns down a different road than Famine - it's kind of what I was hoping for with that particular Gaiman, in fact. I could have sworn there was tobacco in here, but the dry, dusty leather really holds down the lilac fougere. Strange smell and it's getting better and better the longer it sits on me.
-
This is insanely sharp smelling! The white musk just screams along with a slightly smooth orange blossom thrown in. It's also extremely cold smelling from the mints. Strong throw and seems to have great staying power.
-
The Ghost is a slighty soapy floral of lilies and gladiolas. Yumm A little, soapy, a little syrupy but still very pretty!
-
I recently swapped for a bottle of this and I'm so glad I did! I haven't got along well with many of the Grindhouse ladies, but the creamy darkness of Gwyneth is wonderful! The rose otto is in the foreground with a thick, sweet coconut smell in the background. Really nice!

Dark and deep aquatic on me. Aquatics are always hit or miss on me but juniper is almost always a win. I think it's that note that makes this blend work on me. Smells like there are dark, rubbery aquatic plants floating in the depths as well. Interesting and possibly a keeper
