    Foundation of Fortune

Bottle (Imp): Hmmm, perhaps a bit musky. Just On: Oh yes, dark musk. An hour or two later: Dark musk is all I'm getting. Around 6 hours: Musk. Musk. 12 hours: Faint musk. Overall: Well, this isn't a musk that my skin likes, so this is not likely to work very well for me. If it was nice in the vial to my nose, it would probably get more use here. After reading other reviews: Well, I apparently had a totally different experience than josey, but that's okay. I'm not so sure I'd be using this one as often as Money Bag or Money Draw.

    Obatalá

Bottle (Imp): Wow, hard to figure out what I'm smelling. I'm actually thinking minty musk? Just On: Definitely musk. An hour or two later: Woody musk. Around 6 hours: It's faded to nothing. 12 hours: Still nothing. Overall: This one confused my nose a lot. I bet I'm totally off here. After reading other reviews: Well, this faded much faster on me, and while I can relate to the musty scent, musk is often musty smelling, I don't think I got much else the same. Could certainly be intereting to work ritual with.

    Changó

Bottle (Imp): Ooh, this is *very* sweet. Just On: Oh yes, fruity sweet goodness. I'm loving this one. I just want to bury my nose in this and inhale forever. An hour or two later: Sweet fruit, and fading way too fast. Around 6 hours: It's so gone. 12 hours: <sighs at goneness> Overall: I am loving this one. After reading other reviews: Goodness, I'm glad I got the good stuff out of this, and not the poo or other ickies. ANother big bottle scent for me. And I can definitely see this for ritual use.

    Lionheart

Bottle (Imp): Oooh, a sweet one. Not fruity sweet, but very sugary to me. This would bring me courage, I'll say that. Just On: Ahhh, sweet goodness. An hour or two later: Not nearly as sweet now, but still nice. Around 6 hours: It went away, I'm gonna cry now. 12 hours: I miss it, gimme more! Overall: I am so loving this one as well. After reading other reviews: This is definitely going on the big bottle list for me, and I will most certainly get many miles out of this scent.

    Power

Bottle (Imp): Herbs. Just On: Herbs and wood. An hour or two later: More wood than herbs, maybe a hint of musk. Around 6 hours: A bit of musk and woods, not very much left to this. 12 hours: Interesting, but not something that seems to power me up. Overall: I'm more inclined to feel powered up from a sweeter scent, but I don't know that scent is the only thing, so this could very well be quite powerful. After reading other reviews, ahem, review: I'd have to agree that there could be cedar in this, and that's appropriate, considering how powerful trees can be.

    Pumpkin King

Bottle (Imp): Clove, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon. Those are the main things I'm smelling. Just On: All those, the pumpkin, and more. YUM! An hour or two later: OMFG this is incredible. Around 6 hours: Mmmmm, everything all blended and yummy. 12 hours: It went away <sob>. Overall: This is awesome. I can see why it's so hard to get. After reading other reviews: Oh yes, I'm right with those begging that this one be released. (Footnote: The song that came on as I was reviewing this one just happened to be "I Think I Love You"... and as I'm typing up this last review part, the part of the song that says "screaming out the words I dread 'I think I love you'" comes on. A very apt song indeed... I think I love you, Pumpkin King.)

    Goona Goona

Bottle (Imp): A touch sharp, a tiny bit sweet, almost a champagne like tickling of my nose. It smells effervescent. Just On: I think there is citrus in here. This is a sparkly scent. An hour or two later: Sparkly, but with a hint of some household cleaner scent to it. Around 6 hours: Wow, this is gone already. 12 hours: Yeah, so it's still gone. Overall: This is a bubbly scent. It fairly radiates contentness, and happy happy joy joy to me. Not like Joy Mojo, but close. After reading other reviews: Goodness, I seem to have gotten a very different scent from this while wearing. I didn't get roses, any kind of wood, none of that.

    Deimos

Bottle (Imp): Sweet lemons? Just On: Sweet minty lemons? An hour or two later: Barely there mint over lemon candy. Around 6 hours: It's really faint now, so I can't really identify the notes, but I think it's still the same. 12 hours: All gone. Overall: I like this one. I'd buy more if I could. After reading other reviews: Okay, so the bergamot is the lemon scent. The other fruits are probably the sweet, and I have no idea where the civet and musk went, because they didn't show up on me a bit. This is a good thing, because those tend to wreak havoc with my skin. How sad that this was discontinued, and that it didn't work on so many people. This is one more example of why I need to try everything, even if I think it won't work. This was wayyyyyy down at the bottom of my list, and yet it works nicely on me.

    Erato

Bottle (Imp): Hmmm, a little cologny. Just On: Yeah, kinda cologny, not so bad though. An hour or two later: Vanilla cologne? Around 6 hours: Nothing left to judge. 12 hours: Of course, still nothing. Overall: It's interesting, but I don't know that I'll ever wear it. Awful glad I got to try it out. After reading other reviews: I have no idea what was in it (even after reading other reviews) because I couldn't smell them at all. I just got a very generic cologne like scent. Not what I would expect at all.

    White Cedarwood

Bottle (Imp): Okay, are you sitting down? I have some news for you. This smells like cedar! Just On: Oh yeah, this is cedar all right. An hour or two later: Cedar. Around 6 hours: Okay, this still smells like cedar. Are you shocked? 12 hours: Faint cedar. Overall: I like it well enough, but it's not among my very favorites. After reading other reviews, er review: It smells like cedar. How much more can I really say about it?
  11. OriginalWacky

    Carnation

Bottle (Imp): This might be very surprising, but this smells like carnations. Just On: This smells so true to carnations, I would swear there was one here if I didn't know better. An hour or two later: Carnations, carnations, carnations. Around 6 hours: Faint carnations. 12 hours: No more carnations. Overall: This is so true and dead on. After reading other reviews: I have to agree with EEEEEEVerybody who said this was the true scent of carnations. Not much else to add to that, is there?
  12. OriginalWacky

    Black Dahlia

Bottle (Imp): Smells quite flowery. Just On: Oh yeah, almost all flowers. An hour or two later: Soap. Figures, my skin ruins it. Around 6 hours: Soap. 12 hours: Soap. Overall: Okay, so my skin turns this to soap. After reading other reviews: I got no amber out of this, and it was soapy all the way through. AH well.

    Tzadikim Nistarim

Bottle (Imp): Very herby. Just On: All green herbs. Not cut, not grounds, just lean over and sniff them where they sit, still planted. An hour or two later: Green herbs. Around 6 hours: This is virtually gone. 12 hours: Bye bye. Overall: This was nice, but doesn't make the big bottle cut for me. After reading other reviews: I really don't know most of the notes, so it's no surprise that I coulnd't identify them. I really did get just fresh herbs, and it faded fairly quickly compared to many other BPALs. It's a nice enough scent, but it didn't captivate me at all.
  14. OriginalWacky

    Roadhouse

Bottle (Imp): Sweet booze. Just On: Really sweet booze. An hour or two later: Quite sweet booze, but starting to fade. Around 6 hours: A touch sour, boozy. 12 hours: Barely there booze. Overall: I like it, quite a bit. After reading other reviews: I didn't get a whiff of dandelion out of this at all. I really got almost all booze, and sweet booze to boot. In the fading I finally got a hint of sour, which I would guess as the hops, but not enough to make me dislike this one.
  15. OriginalWacky

    Laudanum

Bottle (Imp): Hmmm, sort of deep, and possibly myrrh. Just On: Myrrh, deep, pretty. An hour or two later: Quite deep and myrrh-y. Around 6 hours: Wow, it's fading fast. That's unusual. 12 hours: It's gone. Overall: I think I like it. Quite a bit really. After reading other reviews: I was starting to worry that I was the only one who got myrrh than anything else, but then I saw a review where someone said that was strongest, so I didn't feel so bad. I didn't get he spicy sweetness, the other fun stuff, but since I like myrrh, that was all okay. Although myrrh usually sticks around longer on my skin, this was still fab, and I like the scent.

    Languor

Bottle (Imp): Um, something bitter or off. Just On: Or not. It seems to disappear when I put it on. An hour or two later: I honestly can't smell this at all now. Around 6 hours: Okay, I think it's there, but this is really quiet. It doesn't jump out at all. It's possibly smoky, and maybe has some flowers. 12 hours: It's gone again. Overall: This one really confused my nose. Might have to give it another shot sometimes to see what happens. After reading other reviews: Well, obviously I'm not the only one who had short lasting results with this. I couldn't pick out any notes whatsoever, and the brief time when I could even smell it was just way too short. I guess this *is* a langourous scent.

    Siren

Bottle (Imp): A little sweet, and a little earthy. Just On: Some sweet, and some gritty earthyness. An hour or two later: Smooth yet gritty, I don't know how to describe it. Around 6 hours: Goodness, it's almost totally gone, and I'm having trouble smelling it. 12 hours: It's gone. Overall: This is sort of what I was hoping Loralei would smell like. I like it. It's got a little of everything I want, and nothing is too overpowering. I just wish it would last longer on my skin. After reading other reviews: I think that the old version would not have worked nearly as well on me, so perhaps I'm glad I have the new one. The sweet has to be the fruit, and the gritty earth secent must be jasmine and ginger, which is rather surprising to me. I certainly didn't get the amount of sweetness that many other reviewers did.

    Lorelei

Bottle (Imp): This smells sultry, and heady. Just On: It's quite heady, and maybe a touch musky. An hour or two later: Pretty heady, smoother now. Around 6 hours: Neroli or musk. Not sure which. 12 hours: Aha, neroli. Overall: Okay, I like this, but I'm not so sure that it's what I was hoping for out of this scent. After reading other reviews: Strangely enough, though I tend to love all three (neroli, sandalwood, and ylangylang) in blends, in this one they just don't work with my skin. I wanted to love this one oh so much for personal reasons (anybody who wants to know those personal reasons feel free to ask, but I won't post it on the boards), and instead wound up with just an "I like it okay" shrugging my shoulders feeling. I'm quite happy to have tried it, and it's a lovely scent, just not on me.

    Depraved

Bottle (Imp): Oh, this is sweet. Just On: Very, very sweet fruit. An hour or two later: Musky fruit? Around 6 hours: Hmm, kinda hard to pin this one down. 12 hours: Barely there now. Overall: This one confuses my nose a lot. After reading other reviews: Ahh okay, apricot and patchouli. I see where the fruit comes from, and it's obviously the patchouli that smells musky in this one. This is utterly interesting to me. I don't get the feeling of depravity in a bad way, more the innocent looking one who has that 'bad' side to them that only comes out with a bit more knowledge of them.

    Lightning

Bottle (Imp): Ozone! Just On: Ozone!! An hour or two later: Ozone, with a tinge of something else. Around 6 hours: Sweet? Sweet dryer sheets? Unusual, and quite nice. 12 hours: Okay, not so sweet, but nice dryer sheets. Just barely there. Overall: What a great scent. I like it. After reading other reviews: LIightning is indeed the small of the air as the lightning crackles through it, and the thunder rolls over you in a huge wave of sound. It fades down into a gorgeous dryer sheet fresh scent that I would love to have my clothes smell like (and I'm picky), and then just drifts off, like the storm that has passed.

    Saint-Germain

Bottle (Imp): Whoa, totally unfamiliar to my nose. Just On: Cologne. An hour or two later: Hmm, something pretty masculine. Around 6 hours: Very smooth and GOOD men's cologne. 12 hours: Faint hint of men's cologne. Overall: This is probably the first scent that is actually too masculine for me to wear alone. It's still okay, just not something I'm going to wear. After reading other reviews: I couldn't pick out a note in this to save my life, so it was obviously well blended. It's a great scent, but definitly not my type, it's probably the very first BPAL to ever be too masculine for me all the way through.

    Brimstone

Bottle (Imp): Very smokey and fiery. Just On: This smells like fire. And smoke. An hour or two later: Oh absoutely fire and smoke. Around 6 hours: A little smoke left. 12 hours: It's disappeared, just like magic. Overall: This is pretty awesome. After reading other reviews: This did not sear my nose, nor did I think it was overly strong. I really like this one, it really does smell like a campfire, and makes me want to run off and get marshmallows to toast.

    Vice

Bottle (Imp): Cocoa and flowers. Just On: Flowers and cocoa. An hour or two later: Hmmm, a little soap, and cocoa. Around 6 hours: Soapy cocoa. 12 hours: A touch of soapy cocoa. Overall: If my skin wouldn't have ruined this, it would have been awesome. As it is, I like it well enough. After reading other reviews: I'm so disappointed. I never got oranges, or cherries out of this. It smelled like someone took soap, and sprinkled it with cocoa. The coca was nice, but the soap was the yucky kind.

    Dorian

Bottle (Imp): Vanilla. Just On: A nice vanilla scent. An hour or two later: A very faint bit of plastic, and vanilla. Around 6 hours: About the same, mucho vanilla with a bit of plastic. Not enough to deter me, mind you. 12 hours: Vanilla, faint but lingering. Overall: I like this scent. If I could completely avoid the plastic, it would almost be perfect. After reading other reviews: After all the raves, how could I help but want to try this one? I didn't get nearly as much sweetness as others did, and I never got lemon, and not really tea either. I certainly didn't get musk. This isn't a OMFG scent for me, but I adore Andra's review of it.

    Anathema

Bottle (Imp): This smells rather dark and foreboding. Just On: Perhaps flowers. An hour or two later: Hmm, it's a bit soapy, so I'm thinking flowers again. Around 6 hours: Yeah, soap is me on this one. 12 hours: It's disappeared. Overall: I'm not terribly sure about this one, but I do know it went awfully soapy for a while, and that's just my skin ruining things. After reading other reviews: I have to agree with the ones who got dark florals out of this, or flowers in general. Usually only flowers turn that soapy on me.
