Bottle (Imp): One is a very clear liquid, and that's the one suspected of being the old formulation; and one is quite yellow, and I know it's the new one. Clear: Ooooh buttery. Not quite butterscotch, but really close. Yellow: Butterscotch candy. There's a difference, but I don't know if it's in the batch, or if they are actually an old and a new imp. Just On: Clear: Buttery rum, but not much rum. I seem to smell the slightest hint of spices. Yellow: Very much butterscotch, and sweetness. I'm testing the yellow one (new) on my right, and the clear one (old?) on my left. I currently want to gnaw my right arm off right NOW. An hour or two later: The clear one smells pretty boozy, while the yellow one smells much sweeter and more buttery. I still want to chew my right arm off. Around 6 hours: The clear one is still sweet, buttery, and boozy, and lasting fairly well. The yellow one is fading fast, and still smells very botterscotchy. 12 hours: The clear one has left the building, although I *might* have a hint of it left, but I just can't tell. The yellow one is sweet and butterscotchy now, and not boozy. Overall: If these are truly two different formulations, I'm very happy to say that I actually like the reformulation better. They were both wonderful, but the yellow one was sweeter and creamier, which is my preference. Definitely goes on the big bottle list bigtime. After reading other reviews: I got no pumpkin scent out of this at all. Neither one was pumpkin to my nose in the slightest. But it doesn't matter, I LOVE it.

Bottle (Imp): My impression of the Death card has always been upheaval, so I am sort of expecting something that signifies that... and what I get is a slightly sharp, new beginning kind of scent. No idea what it is, but I think of new beginnings when I sniff the imp. Just On: It immediately changes to a scent of woods. I like it. An hour or two later: Some really interesting morphing going on. It smells familiar in a new way, if that makes any sense. Around 6 hours: Mmmm, this smells really nice. Is that patchouli? It's one that works on me YAY! 12 hours: Alll gone. Overall: This is a nice scent overall, and one that I feel has connotations of the Death card. After reading other reviews: I really didn't think it was nearly as dark as so many others did.

Bottle (Imp): This is a silver scent. It smells like the color silver to me. I smell moss too. Just On: Okay, I still get the silver thing, but it gets more flowery too. Fresh greens and moss. An hour or two later: This smells like the stems of flowers that you are cutting to make a fresh bouquet for your table. Not roses, but something more like daisy or marigold stems. There's a bit of the moss scent left as well. Around 6 hours: I am getting a bit of blooming flowers, but it's not strong, and it's certainly not cloying. I rather like this. It evokes the thought of being all alone out on the woods, and having cut flowers to enjoy with my solitary meal. 12 hours: It's pretty much gone now. Overall: I love the smell of the cut green stems that I was getting, and this scent very much gave me the impression of silver, not because it smelled like silver, but because it provoked the image of silver when I smelled it. The moss scent left very quickly. After reading other reviews: I didn't get the old books scent that several others did. This is a pleasant, thinking scent.

Bottle (Imp): Ooh, sweet, and maybe fruity? Not a familiar fruit, but that same kind of sweetness as fruit. Just On: This would be a yellow green color. It's got something that smells like fruit, and a bit of sweetness, and there are scents wafting in and out and changing it even as I sniff. An hour or two later: Yeah, fruit is definitely on my mind when I sniff this. I get fairly bright colors out of this, like bright fruits. I'm adoring this scent. Around 6 hours: Imagine one of those shudders when you just love something you are smelling, and then repeat it. I'm doing that. It's wonderfully sweet. 12 hours: Well, it faded away, and I miss it terribly. Overall: I'll be hoarding this one, thankyouverymuch. It has slammed into my top ten. This is a comforting scent, and it makes me feel really happy just smelling it. It's similar to Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo in that respect, though the scents aren't necessarily that similar. And, according to my limited knowledge, she is associated with Isis... who does have a tendency to peek into my life every so often. After reading other reviews: Wow, comforting fits perfectly apparently. I really didn't know much beyond her being associated with Isis, but I'm inspired to take a further look around now. This scent is one I am most definitely going to get more of.

Bottle (Imp): Ouch! That's really sharp to my nose. Not that it's a sharp scent, it's just that it hits my nose as sharp. Just On: Green vegetables still in the earth. Wait.. carrots. Just pulled out of the ground, still have dirt clinging to them, fresh, as if you're sniffing them right where the greens are attached to the carrot. That's the closest I can think of, and it is dead on to my nose. That actually makes a bit of sense to me, as carrots are good for the vision, and this could make me have dreams, and see them more clearly. An hour or two later: The carrots, and something else as well, that I can't identify. Around 6 hours: It's more greeny now, and not smelling so much of carrots. 12 hours: This one left with a bang, one minute it was there, the next, it was just *gone*. Overall: I wondered if I was going to like this, but of course, I know I have to try it on, no matter what. It turned out much better on than it was in the imp. I smelled like I had just pulled a bunch of carrots out of the ground. After reading other reviews: I think it's the rosemary or basil that gives me the carrot smell.

A gossamer scent, as light as a spider’s footfall, touched with sighing mists: pallid flowers, dusty woods and soft herbs. Bottle (Imp): This has a really fresh scent that's sweet at the same time. It's not like anything I've smelled before from BPAL, so I don't know how to describe it. Just On: It's like the imp, but it gets grittier. This makes me think of the color brown, but not in an earthy way. It's more of a chestnut crown color, almost reddish, but not really red, like a chestnut colored horse. If you go here and look down the page for the chestnut horse, that's the color I think of. I don't think of horses though, just that particular color. Wow, what a strong reaction I'm feeling on this one. I keep smelling it over and over and over. An hour or two later: This deepens into a shinier chestnut color with a hint of nuttiness to it. Around 6 hours: It fades down to a very smooth scent. 12 hours: It's mostly gone now. Overall: I had such a strong reaction to this one, and I have no idea why. After reading other reviews: I really didn't get any sweetness out of this, and not a lot for florals either. I like it.
-
Bottle (Imp): This is a complex blend to my nose. It's not that it has a lot going on, so as to make me confused or anything, just that it's subtle and speaks to me. Just On: I can't figure out anything this has in it, but it seems very grounding, and centering to me. I think this would be a wonderful meditation scent. I would have to color it blue and brown. (Lately I've really been getting a lot of 'color' from scents, which I didn't used to. It's like I can see them as much as smell them now.) An hour or two later: It's blue and brown with some purple swirls in it now. This seems to calm me, as when I sniff it I immediately slow my breathing subconsciously and feel more relaxed. Amazing. Around 6 hours: This has turned into a skin scent, and I'd love to smell this way more often. It has an extreme calming effect on me, moresos than I have ever found before in a scent. 12 hours: It's so much of a skin scent that I can't tell where this begins, and my skin ends. It has faded immensely. Overall: This makes me really want to try the other Sephiroth Oils, as this affected me more than I thought it might. It's calming and centering. After reading other reviews: I still can't figure out a single note in this, so I guess it's just that well blended or something. Even after reading, there was nothing that hit me as familiar at all. This hits the bog bottle list.
-
Bottle (Imp): Hmmm, I get something pretty sharp. Maybe patchouli? Just On: Ouch, used bandaids. My skin ruins it immediately (not that I loved it in the imp, but at least it didn't smell like that). An hour or two later: Still some used bandaid smell, but not as strong, and tempered by something . Around 6 hours: It's quite faded, and has left a rather spiced smell. 12 hours: It's left the barest hint of spice, but is otherwise gone. Overall: Well, my skin ruins yet another scent. After reading other reviews: I got no citrus out of this at all. This half imp will be gifted somewehere along the line at random.
-
Bottle (Imp): This smells like sweet flowers to me. Just On: Much sweeter than in the imp, and the flowers are still there, but in the background. This is the pink and blue and yellow and green and purple of cotton candy, though it doesn't actually smell like cotton candy. That's just the colors I see, the pastels, when I smell this. An hour or two later: What a pretty and jubilant scent. It's very sweet, and the flowers aren't very noticeable anymore. It's just lovely on me so far. All pastel colors, but fairly bright ones. Around 6 hours: Beautifully sweet, and I don't have any flowers at all on me, though I can see the colors of a variety of flowers. 12 hours: It's sweet powder, and still going somewhat well, though not exactly strong anymore. Overall: This is absolutely gorgeous, much like The Living Flame, this is flowers that WORK on my skin, with sweetness that I adore. After reading other reviews: Apparently heliotrope and carnation are good for my skin. And in this case, my skin doesn't snarf up all the fruit, so I get the njoy those as well. I'm SO going to hoard any more of this I get my hands on.
-
Bottle (Imp): Oooh, that's different. NO clue what it is, but I LIKE it. I don't even know how to articulate what it triggers in my head. Just On: It's orange. Not the fruit, the color. It makes me think of the color orange. An hour or two later: I still get such a vivid view of the color orange in my head from this, although it has morphed slightly. Around 6 hours: Now I think I can smell a bit of flowers. A little bit powdery, in the good way. 12 hours: There's a little bit left, and I still feel like it's the color orange. Overall: This is very nice. I wanted to keep sniffing it over and over. After reading other reviews: Apparently, whatever citrus in this doesn't smell like citrus to me, but evokes the orange color in my head. I think this is one to keep around, and I would buy a big bottle of it if I could.
-
Bottle (Imp): Oh yes, it's ginger. (Duh.) Just On: It's got the ginger kick, though it's not *quite* as sweet as the ginger I've been using lately (fresh, of course). It tickles my nose a little bit, not necessarily in a bad way, just a tickle. An hour or two later: I can barely get a hint of ginger if I press my nose to my wrist and inhale deeply. Quick fader on me apparently. Around 6 hours: It's all gone. 12 hours: Gee, still gone <g>. Overall: It's certainly interesting, and does smell like ginger, though not quite the same as the stuff I cut up last night to use fresh. More like the whole plant, rather than just the ginger itself. After reading other reviews: Wow, apparently, it's not nearly as strong on my skin as it is on others'.
-
Bottle (Imp): Smells like sweet chocolate and a tiny hint of booze. Just On: It immediately turns less chocolatey, and stays sweet. I can also smell woody incense. An hour or two later: Wow, this faded an awful lot. Around 6 hours: It's all gone. 12 hours: Gone, of course. Overall: I like it, but it certainly seemed to fade quickly on me. After reading other reviews: I can see how this would be an awesome meditation blend. In fact, I'm going to dabble in it to meditate later on. It goes on the bottle list 9which is growing impossibly large).
-
Bottle (Imp): It smells boozy and buttery. Just On: I'm going to guess almond, since this smells like boozy buttery fruit. An hour or two later: It fades to a sicy (maybe clove?) scent. Around 6 hours: Barely a hint left. 12 hours: It's gone. Overall: I don't think it's my skin, because other scents are lasting, but this faded faster than I'm used to, and faster than I expected. I really like it though, so I may pick some up so that I have enough to touch up with it through the day. After reading other reviews: I have to agree with those who say this is something that one wants to drink or eat. I have the sale feeling. If it didn't fade so fast, I might be way hooked. Well, I am hooked.
-
Bottle (Imp): This smells fresh and crisp. Just On: It gets a sharper side to it as soon as I apply it. An hour or two later: It's almost gone already. Around 6 hours: Another fast fader. This is gone already. 12 hours: Probably don't need to say it's gone. Overall: I like this one, but like a few others, it faded really fast on me. After reading other reviews: I couldn't identify any notes in this at all, it was very well blended. I'm rather eh about it in general, so I probably won't buy more of it.
-
Bottle (Imp): This smells sweet, and flowery. Just On: I'm certain there are flowers in this one. An hour or two later: It almost smells doughy. Around 6 hours: It's all gone. 12 hours: Obviously, gone still. Overall: I sort of liked this one, but not enough to move it to my big bottle list, at least not yet. After reading other reviews: The sweet must be the pear, but I couldn't identify it specifically. This faded awfully fast on me, and had an odd bit in the drydown that reminded me of dough, not sweet dough, or even bread dough, I don't know what kind, just dough.
-
Bottle (Imp): Musky citrus. Just On: Oh yes, musky citrus. An hour or two later: Soapy musk and a hint of citrus. Around 6 hours: This went cloyingly soapy with my skin, so it's not likely that I can wear this, but I'd get some to use as a room scent. I love the name especially, so it would also be something to see if I can enable people. <g> 12 hours: It went bye bye. Overall: It's a lovely scent, but it's not something I can wear. Dumb skin. After reading other reviews: I didn't get the lemon pledge out of this that others did. I would have liked that better.
-
Bottle (Imp): It smells crisp and clean, but not in an aquatic way. Just On: Pennyroyal? An hour or two later: Kind of minty sweet flowers. Around 6 hours: More flowers than mint now, and it's fading fast. 12 hours: It's gone now. Overall: This is a gorgeous scent as a perfume, and I can certainly think of ways to use this in ritual, so it's going to be one I keep at least an imp of. Considering that I have three black cats, I guess it's a good thing I like this one <g>. I have two imps, and there is the slightest difference between them, but not enough that I can't tell it's the same scent. After reading other reviews: Well, if this is rose, then it's one I can wear. This doesn't go soapy (which I don't tend to like) or powdery (which I do tend to like) on my skin. I didn't think it smelled like a cat (of course, I can identify my cats each by scent) and I didn't get much in the way of herbals in this. I'm definitely keeping one imp for working purposes. This goes on the bottle list.
-
Bottle (Imp): This smells really fresh, and clean. I think there might be a hint of myrrh? Just On: There could be some patchouli in here. An hour or two later: Sweet woodsiness. Around 6 hours: I like the wood part, but it's pretty light now, and the sweet part is gone. 12 hours: This has gone away completely. Overall: I like the way this smells, but again, it seems to be fading faster than what I'd like. I think I could use this every so often, but I'm not sure if I can justify getting a big bottle. After reading other reviews: I didn't get cherries or floral out of this, and I too can see why folks wouild say it smells like potential. Perhaps the myrrh is the sweet spicy part.
-
Bottle (Imp): This has something similar to many of the other TALs that I can't identify. It's not really sharp, but sharpish, and not really dirty, but a bit gritty. Just On: I get a hint of the cat pee soaked bandaids because of my skin, but it's not strong enough to really bother. I also get some woodsiness. An hour or two later: A little more woods, a little less cat pee bandaids. Around 6 hours: I'm thinking this is civet, which gives me the pee soaked bandaids in certain blends (damn my skin), but usually turns out okay in the end. 12 hours: It's pretty much gone now. Overall: I get a bad part for a while, but it mellows out into a really nice scent. Works great on my friend though (jerk <G>). Guess it's time to enable her as well. After reading other reviews: I'm guessing either civet or a dark musk is what my skin wrecks for a while, but that I can wear in certain blends. Would be perfect for anointing a candle. I didn't get any cinnamon out of it.
-
Bottle (Imp): Some citrus, and maybe a hint of something woodsy. Just On: Still smells like citrus and woods. An hour or two later: More woods, and less citrus, but otherwise about the same. Around 6 hours: Lighter than before, but the same scent. 12 hours: Stayed true, and is pretty much gone now. Overall: This only morphs a little bit, to change it's balance, and is a very pleasant scent. I have some *really* good ideas for putting this into ritual use. After reading other reviews: I don't see where anybody else got citrus, though someone got 'not quite', so I can see that. The woodsiness is pretty nice. I'll probably keep this around to try out in ritual a couple times, and then gift it to somebody when I've used half of it or so.
-
Bottle (Imp): This smells a lot like cologne. Expensive cologne. Just On: It softens a little bit, into expensive flowery cologne. There's a hint of sharpness there too. An hour or two later: This dries down into a hint of powder, some spice, and a bit of sweetness. Around 6 hours: Oooh, it's getting really pretty now. Sweet spice, and a bit of powder. 12 hours: It all went away, and I'm sad about that. Overall: This starts out smelling a LOT like some department store junk... and just gets better and better on my skin, all the way through. After reading other reviews: I see others compare it to perfume (meaning non-BPAL junk <g>) as well, and it smells like that to begin, and then dries down to a wonderful beautiful scent that I would wear quite regularly. I need to seek out a bottle of this.
-
Bottle (Imp): Ooooh, mint. And snow in the air. Just On: Yes, this smells just like snowy air and mint. An hour or two later: Icy air, and a hint of soap. Around 6 hours: I am getting more icy air than anything now. I really like this. It's not quite as aquatic as I thought it would be. 12 hours: It's pretty much gone now. Overall: What an interesting scent, and so true to it's name. I'm consistently amazed at Beth's skill in putting these scents together. After reading other reviews: I didn't really get the lotus scent, but the mint and coldness is definitely there. I got no aquatics out of it at all, except for maybe the icy air.
-
Bottle (Imp): A hint of sharp, and some other things blended very well. Just On: There's an undertone of sweetness with a little sharpness, and something a bit spicy. An hour or two later: I get spice and a bit sweet now. Around 6 hours: It's spicy, and sweet, and getting lighter now. I'm loving this drydown. 12 hours: This is mostly gone, just hints of spice and sweetness left. Overall: This is an awesome scent. I can't say a whole lot more than that about it. It stays nice all the way through. After reading other reviews: I really didn't get much for flowers out of this at all, which is probably good, as my skin doesn't like most flowers. I can see the spice part being for revenge, and I think that honestly, the sweetness would be revenge as well, I've said before revenge is sweet. Vengeance is a little different in my mind, but this scent should work for it. I'm going to try it out against a certain neighbor and see what happens.
-
Bottle (Imp): Astringent. Just On: Citrus astringent. An hour or two later: Hmm, this has morphed to something I'm not familiar with. Around 6 hours: Almost totally gone, and it is still really unfamiliar. 12 hours: Totally gone. Overall: I just cannot figure out what is in this, it's totally unfamiliar to my nose. It's fairly pleasant, but it makes me wrinkle my nose in an effor to figure out what is in it. After reading other reviews: Sunflower seeds! That is the scent I couldn't figure out. I didn't get any mint out of it, but I guess it's peppery sunflower seeds that I was smelling. It starts out totally citrus and astringent, and then morphs so much that it's almost like I put something different on.
-
Bottle (Imp): Wow, this is a mish-mosh of many different things. What an incredible blend. Just On: There's sweet, spice, mild pepper, maybe citrus. An hour or two later: What a fantabulous blend, I can't pick out any notes at all, it's a mixture of a lot of nice things. Around 6 hours: I'm getting more sweet, and still a wonderfully mixed scent. 12 hours: There is a bare hint left, after washing up, so this is a laster on me. Good thing too, I have a couple on the way to me. Overall: I wasn't quite so sure I'd like this scent, but I really do like it, and so it will be something I will wear. This stays so well blended I never could pick out individual notes. And I have myself a braaaaiiiinnn. Muahahahaha. After reading other reviews: Essentially, this morphed a few times, but always stayed so well blended that I never could really pick out any signel notes. Sometimes I'd get a hint of one or the other, but mostly it just switched balance of scents in varying ways. I now have my imp, a bottle, and another bottle on the way to me.
