    Dragon's Blood

In the bottle, it was sweet. Not at all what I was expecting. On the skin, it turned floral. Lilacs to be specific. Half an hour later, still lilacs, and the beginnings of a headache because it's so cloying. Bummer. I had been looking forward to this. Off to the swap pile I guess.

    Pain

Ow! When Beth says sharp, she means sharp! At first sniff this hurt my nose. I had to close up the imp and come back to it. I sniffed again, and got a strong whiff of mint. I can't even get it on my wrists though, it's just too strong. Sadly, off to the swap pile with pain.

    Ace of Hearts

In the bottle, this is pure floral, but not at all sweet. A dab on the wrist, and the roses informed me that they're the center of attention. That's fine with me, I love roses. After about 30 minutes the roses decided to share the spotlight with the other flowers. The gardenia started to blend in with the rose, adding just a touch of sweetness, but not enough to make it cloying. Overall, it's soft and feminine, and very pretty. I'll wear Ace of Hearts when I'm putting on a skirt and pastels, and want to be girly.

    Queen of Clubs

In the bottle, this was sweet and fruity, and chocolately? Am I the only one who smells cocoa in the bottle? My husband sniffed and said it smelled like bubble gum. A dab on the wrist, and I couldn't tell it was the same frangrance as in the bottle, because it immediately morphed into something warm and ambery. It doesn't smell earthy to me, but it's a very warm, sophisticated scent. Edit to add: It's morphing again, and becoming very sexy. I think this might be the myrhh. I suddenly feel the need to go home and have my wicked way with my husband.

    Beltane 2005-06

I discovered BPAL right after Beltane sold out, which is a pity. I swapped with someone on LJ to get an imp, and I already have a strange relationship with this oil. I love it, but I don't like it. In the bottle, it's very green. Wet on my skin it smells like my flower garden. After about 20 minutes, it dries and smells very herby. I'm getting hints of mint from it, along with a soft "green." Like walking through you garden in the afternoon, and stopping to touch all the plants. It's florally and herby, and very ripe. I don't think it's something I'd use daily, but it will be perfect for ritual work.

    Ingenue

I received this as a frimp from the lab. I also didn't know it was discontinued until after I'd tried it. In the bottle, it's very sweet, but not foody or floraly. Very strange. Wet on the skin it immediately turned floral. Similar to Venice, but not as strong. After a few mintues, it faded a little, and all I could smell was rose. I was ready to add it to the swap pile, but the longer it stays on my skin, the more I like it. The rose is gone. I can't identify the notes, but it's a very sophisticated scent. The description describes it perfectly; it's innocence lost, but not necessarily in a bad way.

    Pink Moon 2005

This is the first lunacy blend I've had the chance to try. In the bottle, it smells sweet, but not cloyingly so. On the skin, I immediately picked up the honey, which is a favorite scent of mine. After about half an hour the honey started to fade and I'm left with a very pleasant floral/brown sugar smell. This is a keeper.

    Mi-Go Brain Canister

In the bottle it smells like bubble gum. My husband sniffed the bottle and pronounced it grape. On my skin it turned to a very light floral. Not overpowering, just pleasant. I'm not good at picking out fragrance notes, but I can definitely smell the peony. Overall opinion; it's lovely. I'm glad I picked it up.

    Swank

This is a very subtle frangrance. It's very fruity, but not overly sweet or cloying like a lot of fruit frangrances seem to be. It's juicy when you first put it on, but reminds me of a lemondrop as it dries. It's perfect on warm days when you need a light fragrance, or on a grey day when you need a boost. I'll be buying a 5ml with my next order.

    Unseelie

Anmorata passed this imp on to me, and I'm in love. I'm not good at identifying notes, but it's fresh and a little musty all at once. It reminds me of digging in my garden first thing in the morning. On my skin it was powdery overlayed with spice. On me it's gorgeous and mysterious, and definitely makes me a feel a bit wicked. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for someone looking to dispose of a larger bottle, and recomendations for a similar scent.
