Wet - roses, glorious roses! Sometimes roses work on me and sometimes they don't. I really hope these do, because so far, this smells wonderful. Dry - the roses get a tiny bit powdery on me, but not enough to effect my enjoyment. As it dries the balsam comes out to play. At least I think it's balsam it's a creamy yet almost warm scent, absolutely delicious. It mingles with the rose and after awhile, I think a bit of tonka comes in to play as well. There's not a lot of throw, and while this is light, it's not too light. This basically is a rose top note with a lucious symphony of scent behind it. It's a keeper! On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 4

Wow, they look even better bigger!

Wet - mmm…yummy! The only note I can identify is ambergris and even that is iffy, but whatever it is, it sure smells nice. I get a lovely floral note as well. Dry - floral and resinous and absolutely gorgeous. The top notes fade after awhile, leaving a white scent that reminds me of orris. Whatever it is, I am pretty sure it's a component in The Moon. Ever since falling in love with both Noir and Geek, I have been on a quest to try the blends that contain opoponax, and this is another winner. I would consider getting a bottle eventually, but for now I will just stick with my imp. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3.

Wet - Watermelon and aqautics. Dry - while I am not much of a fruit fan (unless of course it's coconut, apples or pumpkin) I find this very lovely. The combination of the watery fruit with the aquatic scent is both beautiful and comforting. Out of all the Orishas, Yemaya is the one I identify with the most, because of her associations with motherhood, the moon and water (I am a water sign). To paraphrase Neil Finn, this is like water on a burning beach, it brings relief. It reminds me of Oshun, which was fruit and rose wheras this is fruit and aquatics. It is similiar and yet different in the same way that Yemaya and Oshun are different. This is a perfect summertime blend, and one I very probably will get a bottle of, when summer rolls around again. Maybe sooner. Initially the throw was good, and here I am 7 hour later, and I can still sniff my wrist and smell a bit of this, which is VERY unusual on me. Edit - I am trying this for a second time and I am in love with this and need to get a bottle as soon as possible. So lovely and calming. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 5.

Okay, I have got to admit that Midway didn't work on me, so I sold it, but when I realized that was the only one that had that particular label, I started seriously considering rebuying it just for that. I am hoping the Midway art is part of the CN t-shirt/poster series, because it's my favorite of all.

Wet - this smells bitter and acrid and yet fruity at the same time. Hmm…I don't know about this. Dry - Banana and possibly mango, decaying in the sun. Sorry folks but this is truly foul on me.

Origins - part of the TAL circular swap Wet - minty with something else underneath. Dry - at first I still get the mint top note, but after awhile it fades and I get…Laudanum? I'm not sure if this is sasparilla I am smelling, but it smells just like Laudunum to me. I don't get any of the boozy notes the other mention, just mint and sasparilla. Even though I am not a big mint fan, this is a surprisingly nice scent. It's very light on my however, and there isn't much throw at all.

Origin - part of the TAL circular swap Wet - very soft and feminine. There's fruit and a light floral. Dry - I am trying to figure out what the fruit is. At first I thought it was melon, but now I am leaning towards pomagranate. I haven't tried Persephone, so I can't make a comparison to that. Whatever it is, it's lovely. The floral, obviously rose, has come out, but it's hiding behind the fruit. This is a lovely, feminine scent. There's not a lot of throw here, but it does seem to last a few hours. If this were a non TAL oil, I would probably buy a big bottle for scent alone.

Origin - part of the TAL circular swap Because I know nothing about Enochian magic, I really shouldn't be trying this, but as it's part of the TAL circle, I will give it a test on scent only. Wet - it's floral, although I don't recognize any specific notes. Dry - as it dries, rose comes to the forefront. It's now rose with a slightly astringent, slightly floral, very slightly spicy backdrop. Quite a nice scent, but not one I would wear because of my unfamiliarity with things Enochian.

Origin - part of the TAL circular swap Wet - a lovely rose blend with a bit of green as well. Dry - as others have said, this is all pink and green. This is what I was expecting from The Empress. It's a soft but lovely rose, and not the one that goes powdery on my skin (yay!) A bit too rose for my tastes, but for rose lovers, I would imagine this would be the ultimate blend. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3.

Chaos Theory II : The Butterfly Effect
wickedgoddess replied to harlequin's topic in Limited Editions
Chaos Theory II: CDLI (451) Oh. My. God! I don't know if I should be thrilled because I have found my one true scent, or depressed because I can never ever get any more of this. But since I have a bottle, I choose to be happy! When someone was looking to swap their ginger/vanilla Chaos Theory for a bottle of Gnome, and I had a bottle of Gnome I was looking to swap, it seemed like Fate at work. It was! Wet - ginger and vanilla. Dry - At first I was thinking more Gingerbread Poppet, but no, as this dries I get cardamom, nutmeg, pepper, and possibly clove. This is Shub-Nigguarth with vanilla, and is the most "me" scent there could possibly be. This is exactly the scent I have been looking for and I couldn't love it any more than I do now. Initally the throw is moderate, but after about an hour it fades and I smell...smoke? Hmmm, not sure what that's doing there, but I don't mind it. I am left with a light skin scent of vanilla, spices and smoke. Absolute perfection. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 5+ edited to add the name. Doh! This is the smell of a crisp, tart, green pear, perfectly encapsulated in an imp.

Origin - part of the TAL circular swap Wet - cucumbers?! A lovely, calming blend of cucumbers and aquatics. Dry - this doesn't change much. This is probably the most calming blend I have tried. It smells gorgeous and would be ideal for mediatation.

Origin - part of the TAL circular swap Wet - much like Temple:Egyptian reminded me of a darker Cairo, this reminds me of a darker Athens. Honey, herbs and something bitter are the notes I get when wet. I think there is laurel in here and possibly olive branches. Dry - as it dries the olive scent fades, and it's a gorgeous resinous honey and herb blend. I have bottles of both Anubis and Athens and this almost smells like a cross between the two, with a touch of Hexxenacht thrown in for good measure. I have now tried four different temple blends and each of them has ranked among Beth's most beautiful creations, but this is my absolute favorite. In terms of fragrance I would give this a 5. I am sad this isn't a perfume, because if it was I would wear it all the time. As it is, I will probably pick up a bottle of this anyway, because while these days I have been closer to the Egyptain deities, I started out with the Greek pantheon, and this is the perfect blend to pay tribute to them.

Lucky #20

Origin - part of the TAL Circular Swap Wet - Jasmine and possibly lavendar. This is a TAL I would actually consider wearing for the scent alone. Dry - The same. This reminds me a bit of The Moon, but not as complex. The Moon is one of my favorites, so that's a good thing. There's a bit of something else in here, I think it's that rooty smell that is in many of the voodoo blends, but it also could be violets, because violets smell like ick to me. Either way, it's not strong enough to effect my enjoyment. I wore this doing errands today. I went to Sav-on to buy some more mailers and they were sold out. So I went to Target where we ran into my son's teacher, who is changing schools, so we thought we would never see her again. So yeah, luck of the minor kind, but still luck! -
Origin - part of the TAL Circular Swap Wet - at first this smells strong, resinous. It's a very powerful scent with a lot of throw. Dry - as this dries it becomes floral, gardenia I think, over a dark resin. There could be dragon's blood in here, but it's certainly not the only resin. This is an assertive, take charge feel to this blend. The scent is very long-lasting.
-
Origin - part of the TAL circular swap Wet - is this heliotrope? This is floral, but there are greenish notes too. It's like being outside in a field on a sunny day. Dry - this stays pretty much the same on dry down and doesn't last particularly long. While the scent is only fair, I probably will pick up a bottle of this, because this is something I really need in my life right now.

Origin - part of the TAL circular swap Wet - a sharp, clarifying jolt of lemongrass. My mind immediately focuses. Dry - as it dries, mint comes out to join the party, although the lemongrass is always front and center. There may be a bit of sage in here as well. This is amazing stuff. It clears my head and smells great too. Warning, don't get this close to your eyes, because this is strong stuff! Even though scent-wise this isn't something I would normally go for, I love this. I love how it smells and I love how it makes me feel. This is my favorite of the TAL's so far and is definitely going on the bottle list. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 5.

Origin - part of the TAL circular swap Wet - a warm, golden glow of a scent. Citrus with just a touch of spice. Dry - This is a very soft scent, with very little throw. The citrusy top note might be bergamot and then there are herbs and spices. If this was a little stronger on me it would be gorgeous, but as it is I can barely smell it. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3.

Origins - part of the TAL circular swap Wet - seriously fruity. I am not sure what it is, it's familiar though, a slightly bitter fruit, reminiscent of grapefruit. Dry - still fruity, with a slight bit of wood, redwood I presume, behind it. Even though this is a fruity scent, and I don't particularly like fruit, I find myself really liking this. It's pretty long lasting and the fruit stays true. The wood is very subtle on me, it just adds a bit of balance to the fruit. A lovely scent. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 4.

Origin - The TAL circular swap Wet - this smells perfumey, but it a good way. It reminds me of something my mom used to wear, but at the same time, it's totally unique. Damn, I have never smelled anything like this before, and I can already understand why such a cult has built up around it. Dry - Man something in here is like catnip, making me crazy. It's's the opoponax, isn't it? I can't pick out any specific notes, although this contains many of my favorites. Blended together, this truly is greater than the sum of it's parts. The only drawback is that it fades very quickly on me, but that's okay, it's as close to perfection as I can get. Noir is the perfect name for this; it's dark, mysterious and elegant. I would love to get my hands on more of this. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 5.

Aunt Caroline's Money Bag
wickedgoddess replied to kmasden's topic in Prosperity, Success, and Good Fortune
Origins - part of the TAL circular swap Wet - there are definitely some note similiarities to Money Draw, but Money Bag appears to be sweeter, juicied and spicier. As a frangrance it is the nicest of the two. Dry - Once again cinnamon takes prominence here and there is fruit, possibly orange as well. But this smells juicier and the root note isn't noticable. It's much spicier than Money Draw, I think perhaps there is some clove in here to keep the cinnamon company. This is an oil I really need to use, because I often spend money unwisely. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3. (Scent only)) -
Aunt Caroline's Money Draw
wickedgoddess replied to lavinia's topic in Prosperity, Success, and Good Fortune
Origin - decanted imp received in a swap In the bottle - juicy! Wet - as soon as it hits my skin, cinnamon comes out and stands side by side with the juiciness. Dry - Cinnamon, orange and something else, something I recognize from other voodoo blends. It's an earthy or perhaps rooty scent. It's similiar to, but not as juicy or spicy as A.C.'s Money Bag. As for it's efficacy, I haven't tried it out yet. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 2. (Scent only)
