Wet - a very, very sweet boozy scent. Dry - still sweeter than anything else. I get a trace of booze, a touch of musk and the tiniest bit of incensy smoke, but I am not loving this the way I had expected to. Strangely enough, it's a bit too sweet for me. This might end up going in the swap pile; I will have to try it again before I decide. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3.

Wet - Initially I don't get sandalwood so much as dryness. It smells like a dried out pumpkin. Dry - After awhile the sandalwood really comes out, and I get a bit of orris as well. The pumpkin fades but the sandalwood and orris last and last. Hours later I can still smell this on me, and that's unusual with my chemistry. A lovely, dry scent, where the pumpkin is quite subtle. Origin - a decanted imp from a lovely forumite. This sounds so lovely, but both rose and amber are notes that frequently turn to powder on me, so I am a bit leary of this., After one sniff however, I fell in love, and knew I had to take a chance. Wet - Oh this is so beautiful! Rose, amber and orange combine to make this rich golden scent. Dry - oh no, I am getting traces of powder already. This will break my heart if it doesn't work on me. OMG, after less than half an hour, the powder goes away, leaving a glorious orange amber scent behind. Yay, I can wear this!!!! I am getting a bit more floral now. I think it's the gardenia, because I love gardenia. I think I am getting the tiniest bit of vanilla too. The red musk never makes an appearance, which is a shame, because it would be a welcome addition to theis blend. This would make my top 10 if not for the brief powdery note, because on anyone else this would be absolute perfection. As it is, I will treasure my bottle when it arrives. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 4.

Wet - very boozy, almost to the point of being cleaning fluidy, with a trace of orange. I think the booze note is a juniper gin, as opposed to the vodka, but after all vodka doesn't really have a scent. Dry - The booze note softens, and this smells exactly like a cosmo! I love cosmo's and this captures one perfectly. Booze, orange, lime, cranberry, they all seem to be here. I doubt I would wear this enough to need a bottle of it, but I like this much more than I expected I would. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 best, this rates a 4.

Wet - hello cardamom! In the bottle this smells good enough to drink, a blend of cardamom and patchouli. Dry - Where's the sandalwood, the gardenia, the mandarin? This is cardamom and a smoky, dark patchouli on my skin, and it's strong enough that it lasts through a shower. The patchouli is so dark it would be overwhelming if not tempered by the cardamom's sweetness. After a few hours I get sweet, spicy smoke. A dark and lovely scent, although it's not as complex on my skin as I would hope. I have a feeling this will get even better with aging. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 5. ETA - It's been a little over two months since I wrote that review. I put some Alone on today and OMG! It has aged, and aged beautifully. The patchouli is no longer sharp and overwhelming, it has mellowed into something soft and lovely. This is going into my top 5!

Wet - it starts off pumpkiny and fruity and then the pomegranate turns on me. It almost smells of overripe, rotting fruit, but I am willing to give it a chance to dry and see where this takes me. Dry - it settles down a bit, but it still smells like an overripe pumpkin. Sadly, this blend is not for me. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 2.

Wet - jasmine and rosemary. Rosemary is one of my favorite scents and I have been disappointed that I haven't found a BPAL blend with rosemary that works on me. I have a good feeling about this! Dry - Wow, the jasmine settles right down. This becomes soft and warm, I can see why it's called The Sleeprt. It makes me think of snuggling up under the covers on a gray and dreary day. . I smell something delicous underneath it all, something musky. That must be the crypt musk. Mostly though, this is about the rosemary, and I love, love, love this blend. Wet - pumpkin and cocoa. I wasn't sure if I would like this or not, but so far, yum! Dry - Well if I was slightly disappointed with Pumpkin Patch 1, this more than makes up for it. This is dark, rich cocoa, with a little pumpkin mixed in. Very foody; it reminds me of the smell of baking fall treats. This may be my favorite chocolate scent yet! I'm not a huge fan of either hazlenut or walnut, but in here they just add a slightly nutty note. Oh I know what this is now, pumpkin brownies, fresh from the oven. Love this one!! Wet - wow, yea, that's pumpking alright. Not the buttery pumpkin of Jack or the spicy pumpkin of Pumpkin King, this baby is all pumpkin. Dry - it takes awhile but the apple cider finally comes to the party and then I get pumpkin and apple side by side. They never really blend together though, it's more like two separate scents sitting together in separate chairs. The mulling spices are hiding around the corner; they are there but just barely. I personally would prefer a bit more spice to this, but that's just me. I was expecting this to be my favorite of the Pumpkin Patch blends, and I like it well enough, but I don't love it as much as I was expecting to. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 4.

I love orchids, it's my favorite floral note. I've already found quite a few BPAL orchid scents that I love though, so I originally only ordered an imp of this. One sniff of Macha's bottle however, and I ordered a bottle of this the next day. I am hoping this smells as divine on me as it does in the bottle. Wet - A light, sweet orchid scent. I think I smell vanilla in here, but I am not sure. Dry - at first this starts to fade, and I am crestfallen. But then it roars back to life, stronger than before. Not to say this is a strong scent, it's light, airy. It's not the black orchid of Queen Mab & Phantom Queen, this smells different. The longer it dries the stronger the vanilla comes out, at least I think it's vanilla, but it could very well be the orchid itself. This is light, ethereal and yet not so soft that it threatens to fade away. I officially love this, want to bathe in this, and want to have it's impie babies, which is something I rarely say about a floral scent. The longer I wear it the more gorgeous it becomes. This is what I hoped Regan would smell like. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 5.

This has developed quite the legend around it. I love vanilla, and was curious to try it, but didn't feel like going out of my way to get some. Once I got a change to try an imp though, I couldn't turn it down. Wet - Ah, this is a strong vanilla scent; it reminds me of the vanilla in Dorian, but without the other notes. Dry - something else comes out under the vanilla, white musk I think. That is followed by the clean linen note in White Rabibit. As much as I love vanilla, this comes across as being a prim & proper scent. I like it, because I love vanilla, but I can live without a bottle. The imp will serve me nicely. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3.

Wet - primarily rose, with a bit of apple. Dry - as it dries I am struck by the similarity to Libra. Libra is a more complex blend; this is somewhat like Libra lite. Unfortunately, just like Libra, the rose has turned horribly powdery on me. I do get a slight trace of lemon too. I love the idea of apple and rose, but so far I haven't found one I can wear. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 1.

Wet - I can't differentiate any notes in particular, but this is very pretty. Dry - wow, this goes from pretty to gorgeous on dry-down. Still can't differentiate any individual notes, it's too well-blended, but this is lovely. It's a light floral, but there is so much more going on in this. It's sweet, almost honey sweet, is that the prickly pear? Amber is hit or miss on me, but in this scent it adds a warm, golden sheen. I think I need a bottle of this; it is completely unique in terms of scent. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 4.

Scents for Depression - when you're down and need a boost
wickedgoddess replied to aurore's topic in Recommendations
If you can get your hands on some TAL, I would recommend Lionheart for depression and Mantle of Venus for bringing more love into your life. ETA - I forgot about Helping Hand, Bastet's Laugther, and Anthelion, they would be good as well. -
Wet - this is thick and dark. It smells primarily of red musk, mmmm, I love red musk. I have high hopes for this. Dry - as soon as it dries the scent changes from glorious red musk to dust. Ah yes, a blend of three roses I see. There are some roses blends that work on me, not many, but some. Unfortunately Spellbound isn't one of them. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 2.

Wet - at first this is all hot, spicy cinnamon, and it reminds me of the similar voodoo oils like Fire of Love and Red Devil. Dry - as it dries it gets creamy, vanilla perhaps, and it mellows out the cinnamon. While similar in tone to other voodoo love oils, this is softer, more wearable. It seems to be primarily red hot cinnamon with a touch of vanilla. I really like this and would consider getting a bottle at some point. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 4.

Wet - a fresh, green floral. Dry - this remains green and fresh and lovely. It smells like being outside in a field of flowers; a very Springtime scent. I like it, but personally it's a bit too…wholesome for me. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3.

Wet - orange blossom. If you asked me before BPAL what my favorite scent was, I would have told you orange blossom. Unfortunately what works well in a candle does not necessarily work well on my skin. Orange blossom just doesn't work on me, and it breaks my heart. Dry - After about 20 minutes the orange blossom settles down, and I can smell leather and incense, and possibly just a smidge of oakmoss. No florals, no rose, no amber. Still it's very nice now, but not quite nice enough to make up for the initial orange blossom assault. I'll pass on this one. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 2.

I test too many oils. Over the months the romance of BPAL has been replaced with trying to test one or two oils every day. It's become rather workman-like. Something about reading the ingredients of this oil reignited the thrill for me however. The thrill....the mystery...how will these exotic ingredients combine? Will it be magical? Wet - Primarily white sandalwood, with a trace of exoticness. I like this. Dry - still primarily sandalwood. This is a masculine scent, yet not so masculine that a woman wouldn't wear it. But there's nothing soft or feminine about this. I love this is much the same way I loved Sri Lanka, and yet there is something more here, a little bit of mystery. Possible bottle, definite keeper. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 4.

Preconceived notions - tonka, amber, rosewood and patchouli sound awesome, but I fear that the lavender fougere is what ruined Dorian for me. Wet - tonka and lavender perhaps. It's hard to pick out individual notes at this point, but it's a bit sweet and quite pretty. Dry - as it dries it becomes cologney much in the way that Dorian did. It looks like anything containing fougere just isn't going to work for me. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 2.

The grey and ghostly flower that fills the fields of Hades. Wet - a rather generic white floral. Dry - this stays pretty much the same from wet to dry, and lasts quite a long time. It's pleasant enough, but not really me. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 2.

Wet - leather and spices. Dry - leather, incense and a bit of rosewood. Pretty, but ultimately not something I would wear. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 2.

Preconceived notions - I can't stand violets, but chamomile is one of my favorite notes, so I thought I would give this a try anyway. Wet - a surprisingly pretty floral scent. Yes, I can smell the violets, but the chamomile is the primary note. Dry - The chamomille stays prominent for quite a while. Considering it contains violets I am really surprised that I can wear it for as long as I did, but eventually, the violets win out. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3.

Wet - dark, masculine, and yet very appealing. No notes stand out at first except for white sandalwood. Dry - as it dries, I get ambergris and other woods (ebony? teak?) along with the sandalwood. Ah yes, there's a hint of leather as well. I like this quite a bit, but it's a bit masculine for every day wear. I will hang on to the imp, but I probably don't need a bottle of this. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being best, this rates a 3.

Wet - I was expecting this to be a blackberry scent, and I did get blackberries in the imp, but on, it's a very green, grassy scent. It smells more like fresh cut grass than anything else. Dry - ah now there's a bit of blackberry, but it's overshadowed by the heather. This is a much greener scent than I anticipated. I wish the blackberry were a bit stronger here. On the wickedgoddess scale of 1 to 5, this rates a 2.
