This starts out pretty juicy on me. The red currants and honey are definitely in the driver's seat here. It gets almost candy-like for a little while. The dandelion comes out in the drydown and grounds everything beautifully. The resulting scent is exactly what I think of when I think of anything fae. It's beautiful, but I'm not sure how often I would reach for this.

Ethereal sums up this blend perfectly. This is slightly more floral than I usually wear, but it's beautiful nonetheless, and does not make me recoil like most floral perfumes do. This is very evocative of a cleanly scrubbed woman, as other reviewers have stated. It's definitely a skin scent, wearing very close. The sandalwood is a standout here, as is the tobacco flower. Light and stunning, a creamy floral blend.

Wet, this is musk and sandalwood. I can smell the woods beneath the blend, very faintly. As it dries, the musk and sandalwood round out together and form a more cohesive blend. The woods smooth out, and the patchouli makes an appearance, adding an earthy vibe. The blend is still predominantly musk, but with more depth now. The spices add an interesting dimension. I quite like this more than I thought that I would. I think I will have to try it a few more times to determine whether or not it's bottle-worthy.

On my skin, this starts out as a dark floral. The jasmine is the kind I can wear, it doesn't amp to the exclusion of the other notes in the blend here. The mimosa adds a bitter tinge in the wet stages. As it dries, the violet water adds a purple vibe here, it's not aquatic, and not overtly violet either - more like a hint of purple flowers. (I should note the more often than not violet is a note of doom on my skin - going sharp and effectively turning me off. It didn't happen here). Much MUCH later in the drydown the musk and vanilla bean came out, creating a bit of a creamy dark floral on my skin. It was nice, but not something I can see reaching for very often.

This is a cleaner cocoa than the Tell-Tale Heart. That was all dirty chocolate, and this is a cleaner, softer blend. The outset is a lavender/cocoa blend which is *almost* sharp. As it dries, the vetiver comes out more, lending a smoky tinge, and the vanilla softens the blend, adding a creamy feel to it. This is cuddly indeed. This isn't overly foody on me, which is good. And frankly, I am kicking myself for not trying this sooner!

This was pretty cologney on me during the wet stages. As it dried, the tobacco became predominant, and there is a smoky tinge to it. This is a little dry for my tastes, but a nice blend nonetheless. I get what others are saying about a medicinal feel, but this only applies to the wet stages for me.

On me this was a dusty dirt scent. Rooty with a little bit of sweetness. It was very dry, not something I would normally wear. Herbaceous, and slightly sharp.

I am beginning to think I amp champaca flower. The reason I am beginning to think this is because this, and Defututa smelled almost identical. And normally I can detect vanilla or tonka in a blend - not here. There was a predominant floral here that WASN'T orchid. And it didn't go away. This was thick and heady and not at all what I was expecting. I can vaguely detect the skin musk much later in the drydown but that was about the extent of it. Pity, I was expecting to really like this.

I normally can't wear jasmine - it amps and goes all crazy on my skin. But this was a jasmine I could wear... and like. There was jasmine, and a musky honey undertone that sweetened and mellowed the blend at the same time. This was very commanding, but not overpowering for me. I really liked it, and I was surprised that I did.

This is the most expensive whiskey I have ever tasted encapsulated in a scent and combined with the smoothness of oak. The wood note really adds a fantastic dimension here. This is boozy awesomeness. I'm not getting an overly masculine vibe here. In fact, I kind of get a tawdry sex vibe. I LOVE this!!!

This was a very smooth blend on me. Tobacco blends tend to do that on my skin. Tobacco and woods with a little spice thanks to the ginger. It didn't go into cologne territory - which can sometimes happen when the scent goes smooth. Warm, sweet and smooth.

Oh Bruja, where have you been all my life?? This is a wonderfully sexy blend, with just enough throw to get noticed. The lilac was pretty prevalent in the wet stages but the drydown was all myrrh and amber. The lilac became just a hint of a floral at that point. This is delicious, and I'm more than a little sad that it worked quite so well on my skin.

This started out really floral on my skin. The magnolia and the honeysuckle were definitely at the forefront. As it dried, the honey/leather/patchouli combination came out and this was amazing!! Deep and rich and sexy! I agree with a previous reviewer who stated the similarity to Red Lantern here. Further into the drydown the vanilla and red musk come out more, resulting in a sweet earthy musk blend. I like it, but it's definitely a notice-me scent. I'll probably have to be careful where I wear this!

This had a little bite initially, but only for the first couple of minutes. As it dried, it really came into it's own. This is a wonderful deep resinous blend. Slightly sweet, but not overly so. The opoponax is gorgeous and dark, and the black currant adds a roundness to the blend. I tried On Darkness and this was a much fuller scent on me, OD seemed a little hollow on my skin. And there was a weird woodsy note that ruined Midnight Mass for me that I don't get here. It's my perfect incense blend. YUM!

On me, this is smoky and earthy. Mainly patchouli and tea. The sandalwood is adding a bit of a smoky tinge here. It's dry, but just a little sweet. There is a bit of a green note here, a little fresh. It's nice, but I'm not sure how often I would reach for it. I wouldn't say this is overly masculine, and I don't find it to be medicinal either.

This is the myrrh scent I have been looking for!!!! YUM! It starts out a little sharp. There's a green note here that cuts through the blend in the wet stages that I'm not too thrilled about, but the dry-down, whoo-boy is that awesome! The myrrh is definitely centre stage, while the patchouli provides a nice supporting role. The resulting scent is deep and sweet and earthy. I'm not getting much frankincense here, but I can faintly detect the black musk. The lemon peel was only present initially, and I couldn't smell it on me after it started to dry.

Helloooo MUSK! I must admit, I'm a pretty big fan of the musky scents, but I think this may be a little much for the likes of me. On me, this is musk to the nth degree. After a VERY long drydown - several hours - the mullein came out and sweetened it up a bit. The myrrh and vetiver were not to be seen (or smelt for that matter).
-
On my skin this was primarily gardenia and jasmine and something incensey. Very heady, with a little bit of a smoky kick. Not my type of scent at all!

I am a myrrh fiend! I am the person that finds Schwarzer Mond light. I am the type of person that revels in the dark deep wonderfulness of all things resin and it is near impossible to find a blend too dark. So can someone please explain why this went to powder on my skin?? What the hell man? Black musk and I are so good together, so I'm very hesitant to blame her. This isn't heavy at all! This is light, and sweet. Sure, there's a musky resin overtone to the POWDER. Seriously. Minotaur I am so mad at you right now. I'm going to take a week to cool off, and then we're trying again.

Sweet musk is a very apt description here. This was a smooth woodsy blend. The redwood and the red sandalwood were blended pretty seamlessly here. For some reason red sandalwood tends to go a little off on my skin but that didn't happen in this case. The black pepper was very faint, and the tobacco lend a smooth sweet vibe. This was dapper and sophisticated. The frankincense was quite light in the background. This was like Schwarzer Mond's polished older brother. Yum!

I am beginning to think vetiver is winning me over. This was deliciously dark and smoky. The vetiver was a standout right from the beginning. Dry. As the blend settles on my skin, the carnation comes out to temper the vetiver nicely. The patchouli adds an earthiness here, and the pomegranate (or rather, hints of it) lend just a touch of sweetness. I don't get much of the blackened ginger at all, and the amber and musk come out later in the drydown to add some depth. Overall this is a very dark and ominous blend that lightens during wear. I like it!

Granddaughter of Helios, Hecate's chosen: Medea was one of the greatest sorceresses of the ancient world. She is the embodiment of ruthless power, indomitable will and furious vengeance. Night-blooming cereus, black orchid, black currant and myrtle leaf enshrouded in the incense of Hecate's cypress and myrrh, and the dark rage of magickal labdanum and intoxicating poppy. Purpley!!!!!! That about sums it up. This starts off a little floraly/herby to my nose. The orchid and poppy are definitely standouts and there is a sharp herbal note here. As it dries, the myrrh comes out and mellows the blend. This is really beautiful. The sharp note fades and blends in with the rest. This is smoky and dark. Deep. The currants aren't overly juicy - which can sometimes happen for me. They sweeten up the scent just a bit. I really like this!

I didn't get much vetiver here. This was mainly peach and amber on my skin. A little bright and golden. There's a hint of floral here, but not overly so - and my skin tends to amp the crap out of all things flowery. Overall it was nice, but not something I would reach for very often.
-
Apparently my skin is particular when it comes to the lab's leather notes. Or maybe I just have odd associations which prevents me from enjoying some of them. Wet, the vetiver was pretty strong here. As it dries, the leather and musk comes out more. Now, certain leather notes remind me of my early years as a dancer, and going into costume shops to try on shoes. The tap shoes especially had a distinctive patent leather smell and wearing this I am immediately thrown back there. It's not necessarily a bad memory, but not one I want to relive every time I wear a scent. Overall this blend was a little cologney, dark and deep. I normally like those kinds of scents, but I won't be wearing this one.

I'm going to blame skin chemistry here, but my review of this scent can be summed up in one word... Pez.
