I thought for sure that I wasn't going to like this, but all of the pumpkin blends are really surprising me this year. The buttery pumpkin note doesn't last long at all here, and I'm not getting much almond either. This dries down to a sweet honeyed musk with just a hint of pumpkin to make it interesting. I actually really like this one. Again, it's not overly foody either.

This smells exactly like the sugary sweetness of TKO without the lavender. It's a cool vanillic kind of smell, not a warm one. I wouldn't call it foody myself, but it is definitely sweet. I don't get plastic here, but I don't know how often I would wear this on it's own. I may try using it to layer.

Upon first applying this the buttery pumpkin note comes out, but much like Pumpkin V of this year, it burns off fairly quickly. I'm left with a sweetened musk scent, with smoky tobacco floating through. The myrrh is wonderful here. I really like this. It's NOT foody in the slightest, and the pumpkin really behaves here. I've had a lot of trouble with the pumpkin notes before, but this is surprisingly wearable for me.

This is exactly the scent of Pumpkin Spiced Latte. Exactly. The pumpkin is buttery when first applied, but it lasts half a second before the other notes start to come out. The chocolate, coffee and pumpkin meld together and there is just a hint of hazelnut in the background. It's really a quite wearable scent, and I don't do foody scents normally. I quite like this.

I was well prepared to hate this when it arrived as a frimp sniffie in my decant circle package. I hate mint, and foodie smells do not get along with me or my nose. But, I try almost everything that crosses my path, so I very reluctantly dabbed some on. Wow. Just.... wow. There was an initial blast of chocolate mint, creamy and fresh at the same time. My nose wrinkled in protest, but before I could react, the mint burned off and I was left with a smooth creamy chocolate woodsy smell. Like Wulric without the powdery overtone. Holy crap this is good!! The cedar doesn't go to pencil shavings, and I think the oakmoss lends a subtle spice here. Oh it's swoonworthy. I LOVE when I find something that completely goes against all odds on my skin.

All right, this should have been full of win on me. And it wasn't. It was full of fail. And it made me sad. All of the notes should have been awesome, but instead, the red musk amped to smell like dirty feet. (Red musk always works. ALWAYS.) Where is the orchid? Tonka?? Balsam??? Nothing, but stinky feet. My DH actually asked me to wash it off. So so sad.

I should have known. Green = soapy on me. And that's pretty much exactly what I got. A sweet soapy smell. A little headache inducing for me unfortunately.

This is reminiscent of Death of Autumn a little bit. The black musk and brimstone give it a dark smoky quality. The clove isn't overly predominant here, it just adds a touch of sweetness. I like it, but I own a lot of scents like it already (German Expressionist Horror and Lycaon stand out in my mind).

09 Version: HOLY JASMINE BATMAN!!! Gah! This is thick and cloying. And I can barely detect any of the other notes here. Not for me.

Okay, first off, this is in the same family on my skin as Sapphics, Life & Death Completed, The Penitent Magdalene, and Judith & Holofernes. A soft, and glowing scent, ethereal even. This was sweet, almost vanillic. Light musks and soft florals. Very pretty, but not much me.

A barrel of beer, a pyramid of cakes, and three sticks of incense. Yup, I also got the undertone to Cockaigne here. It didn't go quite as gross on me as Cockaigne did though. This was primarily cake, with a hint of ale. There was no incense to speak of on my skin. It was sweet and foody. I liked it well enough, but I think I'm going to have to retest it in a couple days.

This is a warm and creamy apple blend on my skin. Just slightly foody. The milk doesn't come out until further into the drydown for me. There are hints of cooking potpourri as someone else mentioned, and this almost ventures into candle territory on me. The spices aren't harsh at all. I like it, but I'm not in love with it.

Yup, ylang ylang still hates me. I go through these phases where I think "Hey! This note has never worked on me ever, but let's try everything just in case!" and then I try something I KNOW is full of fail and get surprised when I don't like it. This would be the case here. Ylang ylang amps to headache inducing proportions, and the oleander goes a little soapy. Not for me.

Yup, this is a gingered fruity blend. Little spice, and dried fruits. Smells like a marmalade or compote for sure. It's definitely an autumn-feeling blend. Nice, but not really for me.

If I had to sum this up, I would say this blend is a dusky citrus. In the wet stages it's very much a citrus floral, but as it dries, the blend gets darker, and a little deeper. It's a little like a sunset in a bottle I think. I like it, but citrus doesn't play particularly nice on my skin.

Blue and white musk, summer roses, wild crimson leaves, grey amber, carnation, lavender bud, and vanilla bean. Alright, this was the one I was most looking forward to out of all of the late summer scents. The roses came out in the initial wet stages but seemed to fade to the background as it dried. Which is good, as I seem to amp rose or turn it to ammonia normally. This turns very creamy, with a little bit of spice from the carnation. The drydown here is just gorgeous, and it reminds me a little of a more feminine Wulric.

This smells like smoky fall if that makes sense? Actually, on me this is very reminiscent of Smoky Moon. There is a bit of a green element while in the wet stages, but it disappears in the drydown. The sandalwood does stay predominant throughout the wear time. It's nice, and wears close to the skin, but I prefer Smoky Moon.

My husband walked by me while I was wearing this and said "Huh, something smells like tea and outside. Like a garden tea party!", at which I cracked up because that is The Dormouse exactly! The teas are very much at the forefront of this scent. It's a little nose clearing and sharp at first. As the blend dries, the herbs and peony come out, bringing a distinct "outdoor garden" kind of feel to this. Very light and inoffensive, but a little mild for my tastes.

This was very dark and smoky on me, but I think this might have been an aged imp - so take that into account with this review. I got the smokiness that everyone else is talking about, but it wasn't overly sharp. In the wet stages there seemed to be an almost citrus-y scent underneath, but I didn't get a cloying scent from it. As it dried, the ash tones definitely came out more, and the overall scent brought to mind smoldering embers. It was sweet and smoky, and I ended up enjoying this much more than I thought I would.

This is a deep dark floral with a very sinuous and sinister vibe. The reviewer that mentioned the lounge singer was totally spot on. Something here reminds me a little bit of Giallo, but I can't figure out what. It's an incredibly well blended scent and I have a little trouble picking out the notes. I love this though. It floats around you and has a very dark, ethereal vibe to it.

This is pretty sweet and milky. Cloying *almost* in the wet stages. Throughout the drydown it seems to mellow out a little and lose some of the overly sweet edge. The baby powder isn't over the top here either, which is what I was a little worried about. The milk also didn't go sour on me, which has been the case a few times in the past. I like this, but I think I will like it a lot more with a little aging.
-
This is pretty dry to start out with. The sandalwoods are very predominant with the leather very scarce in the background. As it dries, the leather comes out a little more. The musk here is really understated. Not over the top or in your face at all. Overall this was really nice, but I think it will get even better with a little age.
-
Ok, wet the vanilla dominates this blend, but as the scent dries the chamomile totally overtakes it and obliterates the vanilla. I was a little disappointed, but I think this had potential. I'm going to cellar it for a bit and see if the vanilla will smooth out the chamomile. Overall it's a little sharp right now. ETA: 9/7/10 I'm reviewing this again after I set the bottle aside for aging for about a year. I have to say, age has done WONDERFUL things here! The sharpness I described in the fresh bottle is now completely gone. This has turned into a soft chamomile vanilla, very snuggly. Also, the throw and longevity of this blend has improved immensely. I can smell this on me the next morning when I wear it to bed. This has gone from a 3/5 to a 4.8/5!

GAH! Butter WTF??? I'm getting rum, yes, but buttered rum. Ooooh this is not for me in the slightest. Huh... Husband seems to like it on me. But I just can't do anything remotely buttery. The smell sticks in the back of my throat.

Well this is certainly purple-y when wet. The pomegranate and purple musk combine into a rich juicy deep scent. The lavender never really showed up for me here, and I was a little disappointed as I love me some lavender. As the blend started to dry, the copal came out a little more, but didn't overtake the blend as it has been known to do for me. The oakmoss and neroli came out last for me, and the entire scent was sweet and dark, but I would say more like dusk than midnight.
