Wad Of Chewed Up Strawberry Bubblegum
Suusje replied to angelicruin's topic in Black Phoenix Trading Post
I starts of as a whole lot of bubblegum but with some sort of dryness to it as well. And then I get the same experience as blueroses: Big Red. Edit: Big Red does vanish after a while and makes the sweetness of bubblegum come back. -
Ginger Skulls goes from zingy, fruity and happy to soapy with a hint of fruity. I was expecting more from this scent.

I know I smell marshmallows because it's Marshmallow Pumpkin, but it's definitely way, way in the back and I probably wouldn't have noticed it if I wasn't looking for it. It's mostly just pumpkin. edit: hold on, hold on....the mashmallow is taking a step forward and really softens it. Nice!

This goes from a heavy blast of cocoa to a heavy blast of licorice to a soft and sweet scent. Very nice!

So it's missing the red musk, it isn't mislabeled?

Wow, I wasn't expecting so many people with the same problem Very strange. I haven't emailed the Lab about it, I feel like I've bothered Bill a bit too much lately and I like this version as well. I ordered another bottle before this one even arrived (I loved the sniffie so I figured I needed another bottle) so I wonder which version I'm going to receive. I'm very curious about the Labs response though! Edit: I just read your post mxtine and I'm curious which bottle we received.

This is very odd, I have a bottle of The Infernal Lover and I have a sniffie. The oil in the bottle is colorless and the oil in the sniffie is very dark (red/brown). The bottle doesn't smell like Red Musk, it smells more like honeyed cream, and the sniffie really does smell like Red Musk. Are there two versions of The Infernal Lover floating around or did I get a mislabeled bottle?

As someone who's been floating away from the foodies lately, I can honestly say that this smells very good! It's foody but not over the top foody. It smells exactly like the description, a pink pastry. Very yummy!

Very fresh, clean, airy and pretty. I agree with the posters above that it has more of a spring feel to it than a fall feel.

Whoa, very strong spices! Smells like Jawbreakers/Fireballs. I'm actually not really expecting the latte to show up after this, but thank goodness it does. It adds a little creaminess to the spices but they're still going strong, too strong for me sadly.

Well, color me disappointed. This is all leather and sandalwood on me. Where are the other notes? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will come out when VILF has had some time to age.

I don't usually give weird reviews, but I can't seem to help myself with this one. It smells like evil fabric softener. Soft and fluffy and clean but not in a fresh way, but more in a dark and evil way. I kinda like it.

This is one of the weirdest scents I've ever tried. When I first applied it I almost literally felt sick to my stomach, it was just nasty. The mixture of smoke, licorice, booze and sweetness really didn't work for me. But instead of washing it off as quickly as possible, I just let it sit and dry. And surprisingly, I actually really like it dry. The nasty mixture completely vanishes and leaves this very sweet scent behind. Very nice!

This is just odd, when it's wet it reminds me of Spekkoek. It's an Indonesian layered cake. I actually really like eating it but smelling like it is a different story. It's a bit too spicy for me. When it's dry the cardamom moves into the background to make room for the bourbon vanilla and tonka. It's starting to get a bit sweeter with a hint of spice.

This really has a lemon meringue thing going on. Totally not what I was expecting. And not really what I wanted either since I'm not a lemon person.
-
Wet it smells like a sweet coconut drink, very pretty. But the sweet drink vanishes completely and now it just smells like dry coconut.

#141 In the bottle is smells like a very dry cough syrup. A bit odd. Wet on the skin it smells dry (leather maybe?) with honey. The honey starts moving forward and the leather is moving to the back. This dries down to a very heavy honey with a hint of leather.

My mom loves single note patchouli as well and I got her into BPAL with Mme. Moriarty and Snake Oil. She's even promoting Mme. Moriarty to her friends

I absolutely adore Mahogany Hall. I have several atmo sprays but I always reach for this one. It smells classy and sexy at the same time. It's somewhat a dark scent because of the wood and smoke but it's sweet as well. Truly amazing

Very pretty! Can't wait for mine to arrive

This is just straight up chamomile on me. I really wanted the honey and tonka to show up, but sadly, they're not here.

Mint + me = not a great combination, but this is just spectacular. It's a gorgeous, cool and refreshing snake oil. I absolutely adore it

I was a bit scared of this one, pale mint, regular mint, any type of mint is not something I enjoy very often. And this one was quite the strong mint at first. But it quickly takes a step back and the tea comes forward with some honey and just a tiny bit of mint in the background. Very pretty!

All I smell is rose, a pretty and sweet rose, but I wish the other notes would be present as well.

When the bottle first arrived it was quite soapy on me so I let it sit for a while. It's so much better now. When first applied it's a very heavy jasmine. Way too heavy for me. But the jasmine fades very quickly and Gun Moll is becoming this gorgeous dark, smokey and powdery scent. I can't stop sniffing myself
