spicy koolaid goodness! i have to remind myself that i shouldn't drink the bpal. it's not healthy. it really reminds me of either tropical punch koolaid, or that thin red sauce stuff at the chinese place. either way, mmmm...

persephone reminds me of a cross between delirium and verdandi. i'm picking up more rose than i did in delirium, but if i move my nose away, it's more apple-y, but not spiced apples. crisp green apples! i like this, but it fades very quickly on me, so i think i'm gonna swap it.

*sings loudly and off key* "listerine, listerine, you make me feel so mean..." yep. listerine again. just like puck. maybe it's the mossy element in each? or perhaps i'm just a weirdo? i'd like to test it on a guy and see if it's as astringent-y on a man.

i was pleasantly surprised by this one; it was a gift from a friend. she said she was picking out scents that made her think of me, so i suppose it could have been worse! (damned good thing that the lab doesn't make "screeching fishwife", i suppose. of course, i could make it my signature scent...) the spicyness hits me before the roses. is that the sandlewood, perhaps? it's very spicy, but i like it. after a bit, i get a hint of roses, but it's not as overwhelmingly rose as say, moon rose. i'm not sure i'm going to order a big bottle of this, but i do enjoy the ...not musky, but deep, kinda, and nicely not overbearingly floral scent rakshasa has.

the description on this one lured me in; it just sounds too sexy. on me though... there's this dry biting aftertaste that goes straight to the back of my throat. it's a wonderful scent, and it's just sweet enough, and the vetiver stops it from being too girly, but i can't get past that feeling in my throat.

dear god, the love. it's sweet right off (the peony, maybe?), but after a few minutes it's a bit less sugary. i don't get any apples like everyone else; just pretty peonies and tea. how lovely. *swoons* now i really must try dorian...

highwayman was a birthday gift from a friend; i think that she picked it out for me, as i don't remember requesting this one. at first, it's a rather strong, off putting scent. kind of bitter. but after it dries, it's not as bad. i can catch whiffs of rose, but mostly it's leather and gardenia, which are not scents that i like. to be honest, while it's not an unpleasant smell, the scents in it have bad connotations for me; also, it reminds me of the smell that lingers after you shoot off fireworks. with gardenia.

i didn't think gluttony would smell this strong; it's very burnt, bitter, acrid smell, both in the imp and on me. why must i always be the one with the weird nose and body chemistry? huh? why? anyways. i ended up washing it off after a couple of minutes; off to the swap pile it goes.

Oakmoss, sweet sage, juniper berry, civet and a drop of grape. first sniff: DOG POO!!!! second sniff: listerine!!!! being the silly girl that i am, i try it on anyways. and am, for a moment, pleasantly surprised. it settled down nicely, very outdoorsy and herby smelling, but after about 20 minutes, the poo smell is back. sadly, it's the scent i associate with certain unwashed people i went to school with, whom i think were not properly potty trained, as they always smelled like poo. damnit. and it had such a cool name, too. *pouts*

this scent is very deep and dark and musky and sexy. if i could get a guy to wear this... mmmm! on me, it's a bit too masculine, but still nice when i wanna pretend that i have a boyfriend. (no, i really don't have a life. thanks for asking.) can't wait to get a guy to try it on...
-
erm.... i admit it. i never even tried it on. i sniffed the imp, smelled the citrus, and said "no thank you", because citrus, on me, turns into cat pee.

this was a lovely rose scent. it's not as in your face as some others (moon rose, venus, etc). and there's this softness under it that kind of gets caught in the back of your throat, like mausoleum dust. also, it had a feeling of age about it, like an older lady who smells like roses but is starting to smell like her dusty house, too.

i didn't initially like this one in the imp; too heavy, too floral, too something. but i put it on anyways. and after about 15 minutes, it smelled like floral licorice, and my dog tried to lick it off. after 30 minutes, it was pure and total licorice, and within an hour, it was gone.

this one was floral, but deep, in the imp. not quite musky, but dark. also, for some reason, it made me think of spearmint chewing gum. yes, i'm odd. of course, about 2 minutes after i put it on, i was gasping for breath. so i'm afraid that it had to go bye bye to a new home.

Blissful Love - Romance - Passion - Grace - Beauty - Joy Good Luck in Love and Money - Kindness - Affection - Artistic Inspiration and Success - Harmony - Reconciliation - Sensuosity - Charm - Elegance - Delight venus, to me, smelled like an well cared for garden full of expensive, fragrant roses, with fresh cut grass or something else green in the background. it was very nice, very rich and posh smelling, but sadly turned to a soapy, powdery smell on me after an hour or so. *sigh*

at first, all i got out of this one was pepper. reminded me a lot of mad hatter, to be honest. then it started to turn into something darker. still spicy/peppery, but darker. of course, when i went to shut the imp, a speck of oil jumped off the lid and into my eye, which burned unbelievably. ergo, in spite, i was forced to trade the little bugger off. so there.

i wasn't too crazy about this one when i smelled it in the imp; it smelled BURNT to me. like the time i was baking cookies and screwed up and used funky tartar and then accidentally overbaked them. i can't wear this.

on me and to me, it smelled like an orange glade candle. one of the special holiday edition ones that they release in the fall. (i have such a weird nose!)

in the imp, this one reminded me of the cosmetics line that walmart used to carry called sarah michaels. specifically, the rose scent in that line. same on me; it smells like sarah michael's rose.

i admit that i just wanted this one because i'm addicted to the video game of the same name. in the imp, it's a very harvest-y smell. baked goods, drying veggies/herbs, very edible. made me kinda hungry. also, kind of smoky. like smoked sausages. yep, definitely hungry. sadly, this scent was not for me, which i suppose is actually a good thing, as it made me quite hungry and made me want to eat, eat, eat!

storm moon has one of teh coolest descriptions, but i'm afraid that all i got out of this one was mountain fresh laundry detergent.

another le scent that didn't like me. when, oh when, will i ever learn? this one started out as a dark lemony scent with a tad bit of walnuts in it. then it just turned into lemon oil furniture polish. but an EXPENSIVE brand of furniture polish.
-
erm... i'm prolly gonna get chased out of bpal town after this one but... spooky and i did not get along. i didn't get any of the good notes; all i got was a weird scent vaguely reminescent of wet cardboard that's considering molding. yeah, it went in the swap pile.
-
*dies from the love* omg, it's lovely! it's the first le that has actually liked me. which is wonderful, considering that my bestest friend in the whole wide world sent it to me. it's like pale creamy butterscotch and light flowers. it's beautiful. and yummy. and it's too darned bad that my skin eats in it an hour or less! bad skin! bad! but it's such a lovely, wonderful, fragrance...

i got an imp of this off of the comm, knowing only that it was an le, and darnit, i wanted it! in the imp, it's very golden and smoky and familiar. on me, it went from golden and smoky and comfortable to not. *le sigh* in my head, though, it's what the weasely house, the burrow, smells like. maybe its new home will appreciate it more.
