    Dissipation

In bottle: A brighter green than I expected. Tangles of ivy thick with green leaves and hints of lemon citrus. Bubbly is an excellent word for it. On me: Bright flowers in a meadow. It's green and gentle. I definitely get a cucumber note from this; although I'm not sure how. It's very springy. Pretty, but it isn't something I would wear so I must pass it on.

    Mistletoe

In bottle: Pine needles, green, and wood. There is snow piled up on the branches of the tree. The scent is very cold and green. On me: Very strong. It smells like a rich Christmas tree. Spruce or douglas fir, I reckon. This is a very potent oil; the tiniest daub is enough. Just to echo what others have said, it is truly Christmas in a bottle. I don't know whether to keep it or not; on the one hand it is pretty; on the other hand it isn't something I'll wear. But I do treasure the scent.

    Mystery

In bottle: Tired incense and lemon. It's incense that has lost much of its potency...I'm not sure how incense would go about doing that, but I know it can. On me: Lemon and that same tired note. Eh. Maybe this imp was improperly stored and the oils have started to break down, but I'm just not diggin' it. Or getting much of anything distinguishable out of it.

    Juju

Since Juju is definitely not a perfume fragrance as a voodoo fragrance, I don't know how I would wear it. So instead, to test it I burned some in an oil burner. Tons of flowers and a patch of patchouli. That is how I would describe this. Gardenia, violets, jasmine, lilies...these are some of the flowers I accuse of being present.

    Phobos

In bottle: Lemongrass + lemon verbena = Superlemon! Like, so super that it should fight crime. It's brighter lemon than June Gloom, which I attribute to the white musk, but it is still very pure. There are hints of a herbiness that I attribute to the lemongrass. On me: It smells like a lemon Starburst. Candy does not quite match Phobos in my mind. Ill-named or not, the scent itself is pleasant enough. It's not cleaning-fluid lemon, which is a relief. I actually REALLY like this, something I never expected!

    Pulse Points

In bottle: Ick. The civet is strong in this. Oddly enough, the scent smells hollow. There's a rich intial whiff but the scent suddenly fades to next to nothing. It is very hard to explain. On me: Did someone say band-aid? That's what I'm getting from this, wet plastic band-aid. Fades down to musk and poppies, which is nothing special on my skin.

    Sepulcher

In bottle: Cold and green...almost bellpeppery! It has the crispness and hint of spice that the vegetable has. Weird... On me: It is completely different on the skin. It is definitely a cold scent, but all the florals are here, and the stems, and the leaves that are added as accents. Many others have described as soap scent, but to me it is too sweet and too cold for that. Just a bit too green, too - only a hint, tho'. It matches Beth's description to a T!

    Swallow's Blood

I took this with me to England. Safety and speed to travelers, you know - plus, who wouldn't want good fortune and peace of mind overseas? In bottle: Jasmine and some sort of relaxant. (It makes me think of deodorant, a sort of powdery floral.) It makes me a bit sleepy; its sedative, calming powers are that strong. On me: I think I will use what I have left in this fragrance with my laundry, so that my sheets and towels will always have this wonderful relaxing fragrance as I'm puttering about. It's definitely got jasmine in it, but it is softer and more powdery than usual. Perfect for travelers!

    Pandora

In bottle: Mint and lotus - the combination of which, somehow, makes me think of the dentist's office and the flavored gel they used to put on my teeth as a child. Because of this association I am a bit nervous as I daub this on. On me: The association only grows stronger. In other circumstances, I could say that I like this candy-like fragrance; the mint and the lotus and the gardenia all work well together to create an enjoyable if somewhat chaotic blend. But all I can think is dentist! dentist! dentist!

    Luna

In bottle: Cherries, with another fruit. Grapefruit or orange I think; something citrus and light. But it isn't just fruit, there's a spice or an herb tempering it, but overall it is still quite bright. On me: It goes very green and herbally after it dries. The fruit notes are still there, but the smell completely different; more like - well, never mind, they've disappeared too. This is very rapidly going floral instead. Jasmine - night-blooming jasmine I'm sure - has come wafting up, and its heavy perfume always drowns anything else out on me.

    Venus

In bottle: Mint. Mint and green, like dandelions or flower stems. But at the same time, hints of flowers, but they are indistinguishable. On me: Mint and the continuing green. The flowers are growing more powerful; there's definitely some rose in there. It's quite feminine and all-in-all, quite lovely!

    Jupiter

In bottle: Wood and something almost fruity. I would guess it is a redwood, as someone else mentioned already, but I am mystified by the other notes in this composition. It almost smells foody? On me: Weird. My brain keeps declaring "chocolate-fruit!" like chocolate covered dried strawberries. Then over that there's the redwood. Sometimes I catch hints of something ozone. It's quite lovely; I didn't expect it to be like this at all from the reviews, but looks like Juniper and I could be friends. Funny, I never would have thought that possible, what with all his bad habits.

    Libra

In bottle: Ylang ylang, rose and apple. This is a very spring-time, sweet and creamy fragrance. The apple brightens the florals and makes this very energetic. On me: The sandalwood grounds the florals and keeps them from growing overwhelming, while the apple sparkles. I really like this - it seems quite different from the other astrological oils. Much, much more fun!

    Leo

In bottle: Lime gives this a candy flavor; it adds the slight sour-and-sweet of sugar candy with the sour powder sprinkled on top. Juniper is also very strong; it makes for a very zesty fragrance. The orange, combined with the lime, make the citrus quite powerful. On me: Sandalwood is drawn out as lime disappears almost instantly. This is very light and faint on me. It is sandalwood with citrus accents and juniper deepening the wood notes. If the scent could be stronger this would be wonderful.

    Mercury

In bottle: Lavender and mint? Something green and something cold. There's definitely lavender; no doubt about it; but I'm unsure of the other notes. On me: I'm not getting the cinnamon note everyone is describing; instead I find myself with mint. In spite of the lavender, which normally I don't associate with cold, this is a very chilly scent. Odd for a planet so close to the sun. Very likeable scent though.

    Uranus

In bottle: It smells like a Micheal's craft store to me. Cinnamon sticks in a 'botanical' pillar candle. There's another 'something other' to keep it from being a pure spice fragrance, but I don't know what the 'interference' is. On me: Rather like a weak Hamadryad. The cinnamon is stronger, like crushed candy. It isn't anything that Beth hasn't created a better version of at some point; you'd like this if you enjoyed Three Witches or Hamadryad.

    Saturn

In bottle: Very heavy and woody. Bit incensy and smoky as well. It's a powerful, commanding scent that instantly snaps you to full attention. I rather imagine Professor Snape could smell of this, if one dared to get close enough to find out. On me: It's very masculine and has such a presence; it is dominant but doesn't overwhelm. It becomes more patchouli-like on the skin, but it still retains the rich incense. There's something familiar about it, but I can't think what. I think it similar to another celestial, but which one I can't recall.

    Sol

In bottle: Herbally citrus? It is hard to describe. There's a resin note and hints of frankincense as well. On me: Very warm, but on the skin it goes somewhat like hardboiled egg yolks. Any citrus is gone, so that there's a spice-resin note and 'kitchen' herbs sprinkled on top. Hmmm. Not what I expected at all.

    Neptune

In bottle: First whiff claims there is either neroli or blood orange in this blend. Otherwise it seems to be a heavily aquatic fragrance. On me: Pretty! Blood orange, I've decided that citrus note is. (I'm probably completely wrong, but neener neener!) I also smell the lotus flowers, floating on a deep pool of water, ice cold.

    Mars

In bottle: The oil is brilliant red, like the planet. Cinnamon and clove, definitely, but it's lighter than I expected. On me: This fades quickly. Besides the initial spicy notes I'm picking something else up in the background...I think it may be Dragon's blood, but I'm unsure. On me this is nothing special, so off it shall go.

    Pluto

In bottle: Cedarwood and oakmoss, and something almost metallic. No, not metallic...it's hard to explain. It's almost like paint thinner, over the wood notes. On me: The wood notes are very strong, but an aquatic floral is bubbling up. It's almost like cedar and mint and salty tears. It's quite unique - offhand I can't think of anything like this.
  22. k00kaburra

    Taurus

In bottle: Oakmoss, sandalwood, and rose? This is a mix of scents; they are not blended together but each note is singular and distinct. Of the four included in the description, I can pick each note out quite easily. Even the ylang ylang. On me: It's nothing spectacular; as I said before the notes don't really 'blend' for me and I'm not especially interested in them as singular notes. I don't know if they are easily detected because I am more familiar with these notes, but I find this blend indistinctive and will definitely swap it on to someone who will like it better.

    Tears

The distillate of grief and loss. A clean, cathartic fragrance. In bottle: Light with that air of familiarity. I've smelled this before, surely. It is the hints of a forgotten memory, and to my surprise my eyes do tear up a bit. Why? On me: This is very clean, clear, and aquatic. There's hints of a saltiness and I am tempted to lick it, just to see if it tastes the way tears do. It makes me feel a bit sad, but not in a bad way. It's like it opens the doors to sad memories, but somehow pads the way so that it is less painful to revisit them. I like it. I'm sorry it's discontinued; I think it would be quite useful in meditation and stress relief.

    Scorpio

In bottle: This is rather difficult to describe. It is definitely a spicy blend, but it is a light spicy. How unusual; I'm used to anything with spice or incense being extremely powerful and strong. On me: Smells like dragon's blood resin - not very strongly, but a bit. Or perhaps that is an amber note? It's sweet and definitely red, although normally not a scent I would describe as such. There's almost some floral in here, which surprises me - most people seem to be getting more spice out of it. While the spiciness is definitely there, it's far from the dominant note. It suits Scorpios perfectly; shame it's discontinued.

    Virgo

In bottle: Very thin; I can barely smell a thing. Apples and white musk, but there is a dark earthiness beneath the faintness of the plants. On me: Very faint. It reminds me somewhat of a plant growing in wet dirt; that smell of fresh earth and something green when you're messing about in the garden. But I cannot detect a thing when it comes to specific notes.
