All I am going to say about this one (because I will not wear leather stuff) is that it smells exactly like walking into a leather store. Perhaps when my husband puts this on I will put his review in here for him. Me and the leather personally are not friends.

In the bottle: definately patchouli and cold things. Smells softly sweet a bit as well, I am guessing thats the herbs.. Wet on skin: forgive me for saying this but it smells like weed. The illegal kind. Like when I was little and used to go in my dads office and it would smell this way. Drier on skin: now this is going back to the soft sweetness. This is very complex. I do like it very much though probably will be good in my locket too.

In bottle: cake and buttercream frosting for sure!!! Oh how I loved this the moment I opened the bottle.... Wet on skin: the buttercream fades fast on me and then comes the cake. The rich, not too sweet cake. The Dorian gives it the little extra something special. Dry on skin: still super cakey, but smells the tiniest bit medicinal, that's what S.O. Does on me, I never get the doc constantine. I love this x a million! I am so glad I bought two bottles.

Follow me Boy kinda smells like a rich lady. I mean the prostitutes did use it after all Morocco always seems to work too for enabling. I would check out Poisioned Apple as well.

I pm'd you! check your box -
I love this scent so much! I am glad my instincts were correct. As soon as I saw the notes "birch" and "immortelle" I was like, MINE!!! I immediatley applied this to my wrist when I came home this afternoon (the box came today) and I was in instant heaven. It is a soft smell but has amazing staying power! its been over 4 hours and it still smells great. I can definately pick put the white amber and pale musk, even a little of the jasmine. The birch was there upon application but faded a bit. No ylang ylang though. Ooh its so good. I used to have this perfume from the company and it was called Spell. They dont make it anymore and I rationed that stuff out hardcore but in the end I used the last drop and was very sad. But The Girl smells almost exactly like it, just minus the alcohol!! a major win. The Girl rules. I think I might need a backup bottle.

Suck It.....smelled so good in the bottle, like cherry lollipops. On my skin, the cherry is subtle. I dont get any of the booze fortunately, but now it smells like dollar store candy. I am not sure how I feel about this, it may need to sit in my makeshift BPAL box for awhile before I try it again. The label is great though!

Being in love with Fearful Pleasure from last year, I have been actively seeking a bottle of L' Autunno for a while as I thought it sounded like it might be a similar smell. Well I was a teeny bit right but so glad I was wrong too. Whereas Fearful Pleasure is the best Sweet Hot Apple Cider smell ever IMO, L'Autunno is the cider, the smoke coming out of someone's chimney on a chill fall night and the earthiness of patchouli to ground it. When I first put it on it was SPICY! must've been the myrrh, patchouli and Indian musk all at once. Now, 1/2 an hour later, it is sweet and smoky without the spice. LOVE LOVE LOVE this. I will have to try to ration my precious bottle

This is my 4th attempt at writing a review for this, my computer kept crashing previously! Thanks to the amazing GingieMay for letting my and my co-worker sniff and then test this! In the bottle I found it to definately smell hot. Hot and spicy, like the spice in Velvet Bandito. Then I put it on and all I could smell was...Snake Oil. However it does have a long lasting smell power and decent throw. Not sure why all I could smell was Snake Oil. My co-worker loves this though and she is pretty particular. Now I am on the hunt for some for her... Again thanks GingieMay!!! you are the greatest!

I am extremely jealous but very happy for you Thats a beautiful order!

Deep, mysterious, and full of dark portents: oakmoss, juniper berry, myrrh and patchouli. I have never gotten the patchouli note from Omen. In the bottle all I can smell is Oakmoss and when I wear it its just all sweet oakmoss with a hint of the myrhh. It wears nicely, I was suprised!

I always spoil the surprise for myself by looking at this thread, but I cant help it. I love the label art this season!!! cant wait to get my Bite Me and Suck it!

Perhaps Croquet? Lime, Grapefruit, Nectarine, Rose, Sage, Patchouli, Bergamot and hedgehog musk... I dont know why I think of this in reference to Tonks probably because its sort of a crazy scent and Tonks has some craziness in her -

That's the only Mrs. Norris suggestion I've seen. I think it's really good, but it would be nice if we could figure out a GC suggestion. Mrs. Norris is hard-- the cat scents people have suggested for Crookshanks, for example, just don't seem to suit her. Mrs. Norris strikes me as sort of chthonic. Maybe: Crossroads A chill twilit garden of blooms over dry earth and mosses, heavily laden with incense and offertory herbs. I think the dirt element adds a lot to this one. Sort of the scent of a cat that has been slinking around spying and had to run through bushes and herb gardens to get her quarry. The Witch's Garden Morning glory vines twisting around a patch of rampion, carrot, and parsley, with monkshood, hemlock, elfwort, sage, wormwood, and mandrake. Sort of the same concept as above but without the dirt. Seance rosewood, crushed rose leaf and the slightest touch of warm hazel. Not necessarily Mrs. Norris herself but the sense of being watched by her. The Obsidian Widow Pinot noir, dark myrrh, red sandalwood, black patchouli, night-blooming jasmine, and attar of rose. Dark, intriguing and full of feminity without necessarily representing human feminity. I think it's the scuttling description of the scent that inspires the connection. Man, this thread is so much fun for geeking out. Yes, yes it is. Regarding the Beth being ispired by Harry Potter, I would guess it is probably just a love of similar mythology and herbalism etc. that J.K. Rowling also probably has. Rowling used a ton of mythology and real life historical figures to craft HP, which is pretty evident if you research into some of the terms and the characters that are taught to the students of Hogwarts. I think I remember finding out that Nicholas Flemmel was a real person but I cant remember how at the moment. I think Beth and co. are creative enough on their own, but you can be inspired by so many things in life its hard to tell. Perhaps one of the great mysteries is that we will never know. Yes, Nicholas Flammel was a french alchemist. His shop still exists in Paris, and is one of the oldest houses in town.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flamel Ah, thanks! I knew I had seen it somewhere. That is so cool that his shop still exists! My two friends just went to Paris, I should've had them take a picture or something for me. -

Now is anyone on this thread going to wear a Harry Potter appropriate scent to go see The Half Blood Prince next week? I know that I will be wearing my wizard hat and some Hellcat ( which to me resembles Butterbeer). Just curious -

I was pondering matches with HP "villians" so to speak, and thought these sounded pretty good: Wormtail: Envy: Green Herbs slithering through mint, lime and lavender. Voldemort: Malediction: Red Patchouli and Vetiver Lucius Malfoy: Nero: Rosemary, Bay, Pine, Lemon Bellatrix Lestrange: Black Annis: Damp Cave Lichen (from being in Azkaban for so long), oak leaf, vetiver, civet, anise. Dolores Umbridge: London: Venerable Victorian Tea Rose, twisted, blackend and emboldened with wickedness. Fenryir Greyback ( I might be spelling this wrong): Iago: Sinuos black musk, wet leather, vetiver. Hmmmm all of these smells for the most evil characters are have vetiver. Maybe I just associate vetiver with evil? -

: Freakin Frak! me too! I almost wish I hadnt looked at these and spoiled the surprise! oh well, I can just pretend I have never seen them before

I got this as part of my christmas BPAL loot this past year and I was immediately in love upon first sniffage. I love anything with skin musk and that is what amps on me when I wear this. My Husband says it smells like lust to him, HA! In th bottle it's creamy amber honey with an edge of apple blossom and then on my skin its the skin musk, also what I am guessing might be the teak, and the cream. I dont really get caramel out of this at all. I wore this to Vermonts very first goth-festish ball in March and got many compliments all night. The Argrat is a winner for me and I will have to get another backup bottle soon.

I second that! that just made me laugh so hard I scared my poor dog.... I knew as soon as I saw this listed in the Velvets that it had to be mine, that I needed 2 bottles to be safe. And I was right. I think this could be hands down one of my favorite BPAL'S to date. In the bottle: Cherry-starburst tang, definatley smell the meringue. Faint whiffs of strawberry On me (mind you I really slathered this because I was so excited): Creamy, fruity sparkling strawberry and sugary cherry. Exactly what I wanted. Someone told me today I smelled like a tropical island. I was like, not quite but close I soooooo love this Unicorns rule! I wish I still had my Unicorn Trapper Keeper from 2nd grade. Ah to be young again.
