My wins for the Lupers this year are: Red Lantern Burning Vulva Milk Chocolate, Raw Ginger, Butterscotch Night's Pavilion Harigata II Parlement of Foules Kypris The Arbor I think if you love Smut you'd like The Arbor. It's super red musky. If it's wine-y scents you're after (ala Zadok Allen Vineyard) then you probably should get Anthesteria.

I got this as a frimp with my Yules this winter and just now tried it out.. totally smells like coca cola in the imp. On however...wow I never would've expected that I would like this!! I have been on a smoky, sweet kick lately though. This smells (on me) like a less piney version of Pickled Imp (which I also loooove) The vetiver makes it smoky and I don't really smell the lime...smoky vanilla vetiver!

I shouldn't even tell you because it's so scarce but if you can ever get your hands on some Champagne and Opium, it falls directly into this category. And it's megamega sexy

This is from a really old bottle, a blue bottle as a matter of fact, that someone very kindly gifted to me. Oil in bottle: smells like warm, honeyed sandalwood to my nose. The peach is faint. It certainly does have that "golden" quality to it. I've made remarks before about Beth's ability to make colors have a smell and this is again an example of that. On skin: my word, this is GORGEOUS. The amber opens up on my skin and I get the vanilla too. The peach and sandalwood are in the background. I can't decipher heliotrope at all but it's not a recognizable note to my nose anyways. This is like eating vanilla ice cream while sitting in a sunbeam...sweet, creamy, warm and euphoric. I am afraid that a new bottle may not smell this way so I will have to try to make this go a long way. It is slatherable though so I may fail in the attempt.

Milk Chocolate, Raw Ginger, and Butterscotch
Geminirubyshoes replied to AmandaArcana's topic in Lupercalia
This is intense! It's sooooooo Ginger Chocolate upon immediate application. Have you ever had a green and black ginger chocolate bar? This smells like that tastes. Like a Ginger Chocolate bar mixed with Caramello. It's pretty awsome but I can't seem to smell it after 20 minutes. It's probably because my nose is swamped with gingeryness. -
Red musk lovers unite! This is probably the most red musk-red musky Bpal I have ever put on. It's pretty strong at first but I've been sitting here with it on for about 10 or 15 minutes and now its turning into this creamy, sweet but still some sexy grime red musk. I can't really pick notes out from this but I agree with other reviewers that this will be out of control when it gets some age to it. I might wear this all day today.. Note: almost 2 years later this is still ridiculously red musk sexy time. It's gotten smokier...so good.

2011 version: I love, love this! It's a big surprise for me as I would not normally pick this purely based on note listings but I tried it and it was love at first sniff. I get a juicy sort of smell, I swear it's almost like ripe pear but with a musky edge and a smoky quality at the end. It gets a bit sweeter the longer it sits on my skin and the lily is very much there. Throw is pretty decent. I think I will be wearing this a good bit and I bet it will smell even better in a couple of months.

2011 version: Soft, lovely, gentle white rose with hints of the resins..this isn't incredibly strong on me but it does last a looooong time on. I wore it to bed and woke up and it was still there! I have White Rose from the TP from the Unity Set and this is like it's more refined older sister. It's a cuddle scent

What's this now? A dirt smell that I can actually wear?! I had all but given up even though I love the dirt note in just about all Bpal's, but they have never lasted on me. I tried this on yesterday at work and bought it within the hour. It's is so haunting and subtle but creepy! I dont really get oakmoss, just dry crumbly dirt and brittle roses. They blend so well together, I love this. The roses get more prominent after about 1/2 hour but the dirt is still there! Yay! ETA for iPhone spelling typo fail.

I feel like the description of notes is spot on in what this smells like in order. It is SUPER sweet and citrusy, almost even too much for Me, the resident candy smell queen in my neck of the woods. But it settles pretty fast and about 1 hour later has turned into a soft mint/taffy blend. I like the end more than the beginning.

The Phoenix in Spring is such a hit for me! I actually did not expect to like any of the Phoenix's this year so I was surprised that I fell in love with this one. First of all, the artwork is magical. Second, this scent will transport you to spring instantly. The wildflowers and cherry blossom are a wonderful combo. Grassy, colorful and just slightly sweet as the myrrh keeps if from going out of control. The cherry blossom in this smells like bubblegum to me and that signifies that I needed an entire bottle.

I think this is what the porridge smelled like when Goldilocks broke into the three bears house! This is so creamy, spicy-sweet and comforting. The candied fruits are quite apparent but blend well with the creamyness. It's a warm, welcoming smell. I put some on last night after will call and it burned my arm a little but I think it's cause I had so many scents on already and my skin was worn out I'm very happy I got a bottle of this.

I sadly have to add to the "this smells like laundry detergent on me" crowd. The fizziness disappears almost immediately and then I am left with this weird, apple fabric softener smell that just isn't good. I can't win all the time I guess. Maybe I will try it in the scent locket...

This is my favorite out of all the Champagne scents. It is such a gorgeous mix of th effervescent champagne fiz and sultry, smokiness of the opium. The fizziness fades somewhat fast on me but the opium lingers around longer Love Love Love!

I've had this in imp form for over a year and haven't paid much attention to it. Something compelled me to use it this morning and wow! What a beautiful, warm, inviting scent! In the imp it just smells like almond and cinnamon, but when it's on my skin the frankincense comes out and turns this into a smoky, soft sweet small. The heliotrope makes it a bit bright and I can pinpoint the vanilla but I'm sure it's in there somewhere! Oddly enough, this is almost a dead ringer for my favorite conventional perfume of all time, Dior's Hypnotique Poison. I'll save myself $30 and just get a bottle of Eclipse!

Me likey this! I have always liked white musk in perfumes but I don't really have a lot of smellies with that note. I think this is a perfect mix of all the notes. It smells a wee bit masculine on me but I love it regardless! the patchouli gives it this little bite note at the end. I think I may need to snag a bottle!

My bottle of Kabuki is almost 3 years old (it has the old blue and white label). When I first got it, I liked it ok but not enough to actually wear it often. I hoped with some aging it would turn into a wonderous scent as most blends with red musk tend to do. Indeed it has become incredible! In the bottle: cherry tootsie pops! Seriously, that's all I smell On skin: the oil is a dark purpleish red and it's a mixture of licorice and sweet cherry. I love to eat licorice and smell like licorice! Drydown: smooth, musky, spicy cherry. Serious throw! Makes me feel enigmatic and powerful. I tend to slather but I don't need to with Kabuki, it's pretty intense. One of my favorite GC blends!

Hmmmm, there must be spearmint in this somewhere. Or Wintergreen. Some kind of frosty mint. It kind smells like laundry detergent to me. I'm waiting for it to change into something I will love but I am not quite sure that is going to happen. The mintyness does vanish after a few minutes, but still that laundry detergent smell...now it kind of smells like dishsoap. Blargh. To eb fair though, most lunacies don't really work for me but I was so taken with the artwork and description of this I just had to do it.

Hilary's review above is pretty spot on in my opinion. Definitely a lemony Ginger, not the deep cookie Ginger that I had originally anticipated. It is so good though! I can smell the marshmallow now after its been sitting on my wrists for over an hour. I walked into a Christmas party tonight and everyone was like, Oh my god you smell amazing!!!!! I can't wait to see how this ages.
-
Good god this is fantastic!!!! It goes lost straight dark vanilla on me a first, then the patchouli comes out, then all 3 notes meld together to form a smooth, sexy and elegant scent the likes of which I've never smelled before. OMG. Now I see what all the fuss is about!
-
Yes that would be Jolly Roger indeed

I got this as a Frimp with my Yule order this year Wow, I really like this! I'm going to guess the notes are amber, patchouli and clove. I get no cinnamon, just spicy smokey sexiness I think this will be a bottle worthy purchase in the future. I have yet to wear it out in public so we'll see what happens then.
-
The orange blossom and carnation are definately prevalent in the bottle and when I first put this on. It takes about 10 minutes to calm down into a musky, semi-sweet vanilla. I actually really like this and think it will age well too.
-
I wore Haloes today because I went to my friends house and it's a smell that typically pleases the masses

Holy Strawberry Batman! this is so crazy strawberry in the bottle! almost a dead ringer for strawberry bubble yum gum. I do get a little bit of the peach when I first put it on but then it does mellow out in a creamy, soft strawberry. I don't get any cheesecake note either but perhaps with aging it will appear. This is a yummy one!
