  1. just fyi for the future: At the bottom of the page, there's a thingy that says "Enter Keywords", and a Search Topic button. Instead of looking through all 18 pages, you can go to any post that has your search terms. Not trying to scold; just a friendly tip!

Spice me, baby! The spiciest BPAL blends

I swear! You must try Bengal at some point! If you like spicy spicy, you will love it. You don't have to get it now, but definitely put in your queue for the future!

Spice me, baby! The spiciest BPAL blends

Bengal and Baghdad for sure! For a lighter version, try White Rabbit or Sudha Segara.

Campfires, bonfires, fireplaces, burning wood and leaves...

The names of the moons used to be announced, but we've run out of names. The series is going to be continued, however. We just have no idea what they're going to be called, iirc.

    Recs for Longest Lasting Oils

Remember, folks: if you don't like it, it will last forever.
  6. You should totally try Eternal. Don't look at the notes. Based on you're liking Fae and something else, you should just trust me and try it. It's solid flowers, but I'm almost positive you'd like it.

    EPIC BPAL Spreadsheet Thread

Is there any way to keep *just* row 1 (the titles) frozen? I'd like to keep the categories in view, but I loathe keeping the whole first 35 in view.

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

How allergic are you? Will you get sick just from sniffing it? In my experience, clove is a bold note. From a sheer odds perspective I'd say you'd probably be ok. But that goes back to the severity of your allergies.

Your Best-Bet "Must Try" Enabling Scents

Um. Alcohol? Yeah, no. I'm hypersensitive to the alcohol that's used in commercial perfume, and there's nothing like that in BPAL scents, even in the boozy ones. That said, there's definitely a "BPAL smell" to many scents, and that's what my imp box smells like. I think going with more 'type' scents might be good, with fewer notes. And he definitely needs to try them on HIS skin before he passes judgement. I recently went to a meet-n-sniff, and two girls had the exact same oil on, and it was drastically different on each of them. But for boys: Villain, Severin, and Whitechapel are awesome. Very clean, without whatever makes some of the heavier scents smell slightly similar to one another.

    Where is this scent?

They're TAL. The TAL website has descriptions.

    Where is this scent?

ahhh. Thanks! I'll just have to order a bottle from the lab. Twist my arm!

    Where is this scent?

Dymphna: Yeah, I can find the review thread (plus I know it's in Mad Tea Party), but trying to find a swap for it is impossible. I don't get it, because both Five and Seven are over the limit for letter. I really ought to take this whine over to the proper thread.

    Pronouncing "BPAL" and scent names!

Also, when you look up Gaelic pronounciations, do remember that Scots Gaelic and Irish Gaelic are pronounced slightly differently.

    Temperature and BPAL

I suspect the issue with refrigeration is more the humidity than the temperature. Long term storage of just about everything requires a cool, dry environment.

    Pronouncing "BPAL" and scent names!

an Italian 'e' is sort of like 'ay' as in 'May', without closing all the way to the ee sound. Italian 'i' is just ee.

    Where is this scent?

Fun Fact: It is apparently impossible to get Two, Five, and Seven to pop up in search results. Five and Seven both give zero results. Fun for the whole family!

    Pronouncing "BPAL" and scent names!

Ae would probably be more like the Italian e or i, in my experience, although I very well could be wrong.

    Pronouncing "BPAL" and scent names!

The 'ou' of sound is the right vowel. In my experience, people usually pronounce it as two syllables, 'sow' like a female pig, and 'when'.
  19. I'd recommend looking for actual flower notes, as opposed to just "floral". If it just says floral, it's likely to be a white or green floral. Searching for violet, rose, jasmine, carnation, etc., which are all flowers, is likely to yield you a better result, imo.

    CCNow or PayPal

Yep! You definitely can. And if #1 is true, #2 is true. Just don't use Paypal through CCNow.

It also might be a particular type of musk.

How do you apply your BPAL oils?

Right now, the bottles come without reducers. I'm not sure whether you can ask for them or no.
  23. Ohh...yeah, if it's staying power you want, you're sort of screwed. Unfortunately, anything nice and light tends to be made up mostly of topnotes, which have very little staying power.
  24. Light fruits and tea are good for warm weather. Non-foody. Citrus is also very good. Think "green". Shanghai is great. Another scent that I've been wearing a lot recently is Two, Five, and Seven. It's a very light, green rose scent, that on at least a few people is really sparkling. On me, it's like sparkling apple juice. Tart, effervescent, and bright. Delish.

Aquatics - scents of the ocean, the sea

Yes! Desdemona was the other one lurking in the back of my brain that I couldn't quite think of. I quite like it as well. But it's definitely a calm fresh-water pond, to my mind.
