The closest I have is Khrysee, not exactly a GC though -- its a bit sharper than Cabaret, lacks the amber depth as well... -
The scent of tea - BPAL's tea note, BPAL blends like your favorite tea
jizatt replied to sarada's topic in Recommendations
this was totally going to be my suggestion! -
Im not getting the sweet creamy amber that I was hoping for, but Im defientely getting a Cabaret scent I think this is the gardenia and orange flower together -- but I swear I smell tobacco at the bottom. This is intriguing and almost smoky. summary: tobacco and smoky amber, slightest hint of orange flower/gardenia mix

healers/white mage Theres Cleric and Mage that you can start with of course -- I havent tried either, so I dunno what I can tell you, but I have to think that either layered with Lawful or Good is going to be a good start from the GC: White Rider (White leather and sandalwood.) Dance of Death (for an interesting spin on the idea) - Dry, bone-white orris, black musk, serpentine patchouli and our murkiest myrrh. Van Van (used for purification of the spirit and to amplify positive personal power.) Apothecary (Tea leaf with three mosses, green grass, a medley of herbal notes, and a drop of ginger and fig.) Lustration (Mental, physical and spiritual purification.) from the TALs: White Light from the LE's: White Moon (the blossoms of loss and liberation, soothed by the calm, comforting scent of sandalwood : lilac, calla lily, wisteria, WHITE sandalwood, moonflower, night musk, phlox, and violet.) White Phoenix (Frangipani, magnolia, cotton flower, osmanthus, crystal musk, ambrette, white orchid, sugar cane, davana, white sandalwood, petitgrain, lavender, and lotus root.) eta a few more LEs: Helios? Oisin? Sol Invictus? Thoos? -

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume
jizatt replied to Ina Garten Davita's topic in Recommendations
well the info on Curious says " a white floral scent. Its notes are Louisiana magnolia, golden Anjou pear, lotus flower, tuberose, star jasmine, pink cyclamen, vanilla-infused musk, sandalwood and blonde woods" so white florals, pear, lotus, vanilla musk, and a woody base I would try these first: *Titania (white grape, white peach, iced pear, musk rose, sweet pea, moonflower and snapdragon) *Endymion (d’Anjou pear, Lily of the Valley, bois du rose and white musk) The Sluggard (frankincense, gardenia, pear, ho wood, thistle, labdanum, and lavender) *La Belle Au Bois Dormant (Plumeria and white pear, Damascus rose, tuberose, magnolia and evening dew) Thalia (plumeria, pear and white champagne) and then here are the LE's that you will have to hunt down: Peacocks (Asian pear, white musk, bamboo pulp, violet, ambergris, sugar cane, night-blooming jasmine, plum, freesia, and moss.) Symmakhia (vanilla, heliotrope, red sandalwood, pear, black lily, white wine grape, and white rose) Glitter (white wine, heliotrope, d'Anjou pear, and lotus) Marotte (Golden pear, amber, fig leaf, oakmoss, bronze musk, mahogany, patchouli, and a smattering of glittering pyrite) -

for the blackberry note try Couple Consulting an Enpon =) -
I dont get mint at all, unless its the very very smallest amount, where you get the ghost of mint. I do get violet, but not the normal kind. I think this is the same wood violet from Philommeides (one of only two violet blends I own!). I dont tend to like violet (ATALL), but this doesnt do the nails on chalkboard thing for me, this is lovely. Theres a sweet something with the violet, a vanillac fuzziness/powderiness I can maybe get a hint of the absinthe/anise too, not strong at all. This is lovely and soft. I didnt put very much, so I may try another test with a more liberal application to see if I get more from this one. My only problem with it is how soft it is. I like to be able to smell my perfume =) My best guess at a notes list: vanilla dusting powder, wood violet perfume, a spilled glass of absinthe with sweet mint. I like the idea of this as part of the Ghost Ships line that we havent actually seen released. I could see this as the too-peaceful dressing room left after the murder is done.

big opium fan here (ah only in context!) -- favorites: Chrysanthemum Moon. This is the best by far. Champagne and Opium. great opium here if you can take champagne (or if you love it like me, this is close to perfection). Red Lantern. This is a super sweet opium because of the caramel in there, but not overwhelmingly so (I wouldnt wear it in the heat though). I also think Vechernyaya's poppy translates to a lovely poppy/opium note =)

you could try to find a bottle of BLack Lace thats mentioned as the "apple" version. Its a much stronger linen component, pretty lovely actualyl =)

I was so excited that I got to try this! I love honey, love apple, love pomegranate, so I figured this was a sure win. I get a deep, thick honey - maybe waxy - and the pom I recognize from Proserpine. I think apple is whats sweetening this up. All this with a darker undercurrant. Really lovely, I can't believe this isnt getting more love!

Thats some hellified skin-chemistry you're battling! looking at a couple of those that work for you, you seem to do well with the heavier foodies, woods, sandalwood, and the sharper fruits (berries, red currants, pomegranate)+ Phoenix in Autumn (I think this one would be gorgeous and its the softest autumnal I've tried) Pom 3 - Pomegranate, Tamil Nadu sandalwood, lavender, tamarind, hazelnut, Atlas cedarwood, sugar date, bitter clove, and Arabian myrrh. Pom 4 - Pomegranate, cognac, red musk, cocoa, tobacco absolute, star anise, and thyme. Montresor - black fruit and vanilla oaken notes of fine Medoc Candy Phoenix - A dusky, yet effervescent mix of pomegranate and black currant candies, with a dusting of sugared pear and white apple. Glasgow - wild blackberry breezing over gentle rosy heather. Rosalind - Dew-covered berries and fresh green grasses with a faint breath of spring flowers. Oblation - dianthus, French lavender, blackberry, and white honey. Morocco (Arabian spices wind through a blend of warm musk, carnation, red sandalwood and cassia.) Velvet (gentle sandalwood warmed by cocoa vanilla and a veil of deep myrrh.) Tushnamatay (Pure internal harmony and spiritual bliss - no desc, but reviews say soft sandalwood) Belle Eopque - Sweet opium, Lily of the Valley, vanilla, mandarin and red sandalwood Sri Lanka (Indian sandalwood and cedar, and the dry incense smoke of olibanum, gum mastic, patchouli and myrrh.) Heavenly Love & Earthly Love - Ambergris accord, benzoin, teakwood, frankincense, myrrh, Mysore sandalwood, and incense. Kathmandu (Saffron, blessed sandalwood, Himalayan cedar and the miraculous lotus of the Buddha with chiuri bark and Nepalese spices.) Cathedral (the scent of incense smoke wafting through an ancient church. A true ecclesiatical blend of pure resins.)

having just tried it today, Ill say that Hemlock Honey has just a tinge of green, but is a lovely all-honey when it dries

my favorites for weddings: Snow White Juliet White Rose but, to match what you asked for (vanilla, honey, only a bit of floral, sweet) Mouse's ... Tale -- yes this would be lovely! Agape - is a light fruity with a cream base, very very pretty Antique Lace is a given Champagne and Roses could be a great wedding scent! Darkling Thrush - my go-to for a stunner the Girl - a gorgeous, cool amber vanilla Nymphia - havent tried it yet, but.... Hope - sugared rose Faith - sugared violet Parsifal - a sweet ozone/floral Philommeidês - cool peach and woodsy violet Black Lace - but the heavy apple/linen version Silver Phoenix - an orris/pear shimmery scent Unveiled - for the name AND the scent - (Red tea, vanilla, white peach, golden amber, mandarin, lotus root, myrrh)

3 favorites here: Bliss White Chocolate Martini How Doth the Little Crocodile -
Reading the other reviews is awesome, its almost like everyone got a different bottle I dont get lime at all (eta: I get very soft hints of it as it dries though, a sweet not candied lime.... peel?) and I only get soft mint while this is wet. I do agree with green musk and that it is creamy sweet somehow. Im not even really sure I smell cucumber, although I get a green impression. Theres a fruit back there, maybe red currant, but this isnt as sharp as red currant normally is on me. I can also get a hint of what might me the white pepper mentioned above as well. And there has to be something thats giving this the soft, hazy, creamy feeling - because those ingredients should be crisp and sparkling where this is not at all. This is creamy and sweet but not foody, although maybe sugar. (eta: maybe pear too?) cucumber, lime, pear, soft mint, white pepper, red currant, green musk, sugar

I dont know whats happening to my chemistry, but some of my favorites are failing me. I have previously loved and adored Bordello for my dark sexy fruit blend, but the last time I wore it -- it was decidedly strange and not what I remembered at all. Mme Moriarty doesnt really work for me (tried again very recently) and Im looking for a dark, sexy, fruity blend. From reading this thread, here's what Im looking at trying/retrying: Lady Macbeth, Fruit of Paradise, Imp, Blood Countess, Depraved, Oya I have Bathsheba on right now, and Obsidian Widow on the opposite side. Bathsheba is pretty nice, but not a bottle level of love. The Widow is mostly rose, mean, but still beautiful somehow. I do like the Frumious Bandersnatch pretty well, although I dont get much dark from it. eta: Im okay with carnation, but not realyl wanting a spicy scent. Maybe I need to start playing with some layering.... Bandersnatch over...

=D I like the idea of the pumpkin scents in theory, but usually they are ALL pumpkin or ALL spice on me. This one is different. It is the sweetest, smoothest, creamiest, soft spiced pumpkin. Of all the pumpkins I've tried since I've started BPAL, I've kept two. And this one is my favorite. Its foody without being so heavy that I wont wear it. Its pumpkin without being earthy or heavy spice or butter chunks. Love.

I just have to add Celeste and Kitty here for outstanding vanillas. Celeste has to dry down a bit to let the saffron subside (though I happen to love it), and becomes the vanilla cotton candy style. Kitty is a lovelovelovely french vanilla paired with fresh strawberry

From this years offerings: top favorite: White Chocolate Martini - carbonated/fuzzy chocolate Harigata II - nomnom Aphrogenes - just beautiful, though very similar to Black Pearl on me

After trying it today, I would vote Celeste. Vanillas are classic, and this ones definitely a sensual, saffron giving it the unusual in perfume. I also feel that saffron is incredibly attractive to the male nose
