  1. When I first put this on, I said "oh, god, I'm gonna hate this," but within 10 minutes it became this absolutely gorgeous sexy spicy fragrance. There is just the softest hint of green in the drydown and it's not a fresh or cloying green, it's a warm subtle sultry green with soft powdery notes balancing it.

  2. I chose to try an Imp's ear of this because my grandmother's name was Katharina and she was most definitely a "strong, willful (woman) with a soft, utterly lovely soul," so I felt it was karma that I had to get this one! Apricots are my favorite fruit and this is a lovely fruity smell that is just yummy. I don't find it to be a "young" fruity scent, it's light and soft but definitely womanly, not little-girly fruity. The musk seems to add a sense of maturity to it.

  3. Very odd smell in the vial, but dries down to a very lovely carnation/musky/spicy smell. My first thought after smelling the dry-down was "this smells exactly like Lush's Potion," and then I read lorajc and Alice's comments, this is a must for Potion lovers.

  4. Wow, it's amazing how much individual chemistries change the effects of the same scent. On me, this is VERY light, VERY soft, not at all dark or deep like the others described. It's lovely, I can detect just the faintest tinge of rose with something softly spicy/powdery (maybe the myrrh?). On me, I think this is one of those scents that I will be able to smell on myself but nobody around me would be able to pick up the scent.

  5. Oooooh, this one is gorgeous on! I have come to the conclusion that as I try the scents, I will not smell myself for at least five minutes in order to get the true scents because this is a perfect example of a BPAL that smells entirely different on your skin vs. in the vial. Very long-lasting, and once it dries down it smells very potent-yet-soft (if that makes any sense), a bit powdery, a bit spicy, very sexy.

  6. This is the first BPAL scent that hasn't bowled me over... when it dries down, all I can smell is the wine. It smells like I spilled wine on myself. Might be useful for attracting alcoholics :P After reading everybody else's raves about this, though, I will give it another try in a few days, perhaps it's my body chemistry today.

  7. Hated the way this smelled in the vial. Hated the way it smelled for the first minute or two until it dried down. Then it mellowed into something totally gorgeous. I barely detect the ginger, and I think what made me hate it wet is that jasmine stinks on me until it dries down. It's a strong one, strikes me as one that will last all day long. Very warm and almost a soft coconutty smell on me.

  8. Tried this one because I heard Howard Stern raving about it on his radio show one morning (it's the only perfume his girlfriend wears) and, love him or hate him, I have heard him talk about how good some women smell and when they say what they're wearing, I always understand when he says he likes a certain smell. It's lovely, there is something a bit unisex about it and generally I don't care for unisex smells, but it's drying down to something very incense-y and more feminine. Not very sweet - must be the lemon, which generally doesn't agree with me - but not so lemony that it would be considered citrusy. Not grabbing me quite as much as some of the others, probably because of the lemon, but I will wear it again. Getting nicer as it dries down more.

  9. My second BPAL review, as I just got my first shipment of MANY Imp's Ears today and am trying two per day as to not overwhelm my nose.

I ordered this one thinking it couldn't possibly be as great as everybody said it was. Geez, was I wrong. This is GORGEOUS. Softly exotic, sexy, nice staying power (I have problems holding scents). I can't stop smelling my arm. Very subtly vanilla-y, with a lovely richness from the soft exotic spices.

  10. I just received my first BPAL shipment today... I ordered a slew of Imp's Ears and Elizabeth threw this one in gratis for me to try. I'm trying two per day so as not to overwhelm my nose, and this is the first one I shall review.

I have to admit I didn't especially care for the smell in the vial. But once I put it on, GOD, is it GORGEOUS. Soft, sweet, deliciously feminine. Very light, this one will require some touch-ups throughout the day (at least for me). For Lush fans, it will compliment Honey I Washed the Kids VERY nicely.
