Favorite Scents
Autumn is my fav time of the year, so I like to wear anything that reminds me of this time. I enjoy spicy scents and foody scents. I like patchouli and 'nature' smelling scents as well (leaves, trees, soil).

This smells just like a red and white candy cane. I feel like my wrists should be sticky after putting it on! I also put it on behind my ears and the mint gives you a nice cool sensation. The bad part is that this scent does not last long at all on me. If you really like the smell of candy canes, go ahead and get a bottle of this.

I am always hesitant to try any floral scents because they never seem to fit my personality; I am not a girlie girl at all. The notes listed on this one caught my eye thou, amber, magnolia, bergamot, and myrrh. I am glad I took a risk with this one, because as soon as it hit my skin, I liked it immediately. This is a well blended scent, I think I can smell all the notes in perfect harmony. It is hard to describe as there is nothing else like it; this scent is sweet, spicy, earthy, and slightly minty herbal all at the same time. It has a great throw as well, and does last all day long. In the vial, I can smell the magnolia, but it blends out with everything else once it is on my skin. This did not do a whole lot of morphing on me, pretty much stayed the same wonderful scent through-out. The only bad thing about this scent, sometimes it can smell like baby powder especially at a distance away from where it was applied. One of the guys at the office says it smells powdery, but also clean and refreshing. Glad I took a risk on this one and will need to order a bottle. IMO – this is one could easily become a widespread commercial perfume.

Yes, at first I am getting the same overwhelmingly cinnamon scent reminiscent of Red Hots like several of the previous posters. All the other standard pumpkin spices are there as well in the background: nutmeg, allspice, and ginger. I do not smell any buttery pumpkin notes unfortunately just the spices that go into various pumpkin desserts. I can smell some berries shortly after applying onto the skin, but it does not last very long. This combination sometimes smells like the perfume Poison, very strange. Wonder if anyone else thinks this too??

Toasted coconut and spicy while wet; definitely a more foody coconut and less “tropical suntan lotion”. At dry down, the coconut dies down a little bit and the sugar and spiciness of the pepper and angelica come out. I like this one, but think I am happy with just an imp.

I received this as a frimp! This smells like fermenting apples to me at first. Then I can smell a little bit of the pineapple and the banana as well. Very tropical, I like this for summer.

In the vial and while wet, it smells very herbal and I really cannot smell any honey. As it starts to dry, I can smell the honey. This smells like sweet mint herbal tea with honey sweetner. Oh yes- this actually smells like the Herbal Honey Riccola cough drops, very medicinal. Not to bad, glad I did not get a bottle thou.

Wow, this one smells so juicy at first it makes my mouth water. This smells just like a big 'ole slice of fresh key lime pie. The chocolate note is in background, it does smell like old chocolate, or like the waxy kind of cheap chocolate they make hollow easter bunnies out of. I like the key lime note, now I want to find another tropical blend to see what that would smell like.

I was hesitant to order this at first, not sure about smelling like black licorice. At first the smell is overwhelmingly like black jelly beans with a hint of vanilla (makes me think of getting them in my Easter basket as a child, ah memories). Then the anise softens and I can smell the cherry blossoms and peony. After a long time, I think I might also get a hint of the neroli. It blends pretty well considering how it started out and I actually quite like it because it smells so different and unexpected.

Milk Chocolate, Coconut, Cardamom, Rum, and Ginger Truffle
darab replied to TheIceMaiden's topic in Lupercalia
This makes me think of Christmas cookies and candy. The cardamom and ginger are the dominate notes throughout and the chocolate is more of a background note. Think I will wear this one next year towards the end of fall into December. -
In the vial: buttery eggnog On the skin: frothy coffee with nutmeg and cinnamon sticks Dry down: as this dries it gets creamy and sweeter and the spices amp up a lot. At one point it developed a slight waxy smell, fortunately that did not last long. Suprisingly, this one isn't very strong, and the throw is not that great. My skin must eat it up.

Wow, the tropics encapsulated in a bottle, I am glad I got this one. In the vial – smell the blood orange loud and clear. I also smell the guava and a little bit of the coconut, both of which give it is tropicalishusness. On the skin – sugar cane and caramel are starting to come out a little, if you smell past the orange and guava. It is still very juicy. Dry down – can begin to smell plumeria and violets and maybe the berries, all coated in sugar. What a great scent, it starts out fruity and ends in a nice tropical floral blend. This will be a great one to wear in the summer too!

Sol Invictus 09 In the vial – strong tangy citrus with a coating of amber On skin – smoky citrus, I can smell the frankincense and orange blossom. It is taking on a very soft honey note – not sure what in the blend is creating the honey note. This reminds me of No.93 Engine. Dry down – it is still sweet but the citrus notes have dropped off a bit; this also develops into a powdery dusty scent that reminds one of old-time perfume.

Banketstaaf: This smells like a can of maraschino cherries with some almonds sprinkled on top. As it dries the pastry portion of this becomes stronger, I can smell nutmeg and maybe some vanilla. The cherries stay present through-out. I do not smell any apricot.

This makes me think of the very beginning of fall. The fields are being harvested and the fruit is ripe on the trees. The smell of juicy pomegranates and apples are very strong while this is wet. Once it starts to dry, it developes a wheat/ straw smell that some may think smells like an old woman’s perfume, but it makes me think of a hay loft full of hay bales.

Trick or Treat 09 In the vial = yep, smells just like yummy candy corn Wet = sugary vanilla, pumpkin, with cinnamon and nutmeg spices. It has a slight waxy /plasticy note, but in a good way, it smells like the plastic pumpkins used for trick or treating! Dry = A maple / caramel scent begins to develop, still smell the spices too. I am a foodie and will need a bottle of this one.
