  1. In the bottle...Cherry! Artificial, not amereto. Very sharp and fruity.

When applied...the cherry is taken over by lemony scents. Then like magic it becomes pink musk lollies. Oooh, I love a scent that transforms so much.

With time...this scent becomes a little spicier, like a cinnamon smell.

It reminds me of a perfume my Mum had years ago, "Opium". I think.

I only applied a little amount but it was strong and stayed with me all day. After going out into a smoky bar and sleeping, I awoke early in the moring sniffed my wrist and lo and behold it was still there!

Fantastic staying power. I need a large bottle, no wonder it is the flagship/namesake of the business.

  2. I picked this one simply for the name, in reference to the TOOL song. I thought I had to try it.

In the bottle...it was a tutti fruiti explosion. Now I don't like that type of flavour, but as a smell it always works for me.

On first application.....I smell the bubblegum which immediately turns to a lemony teatree oil smell. Very contrasting but lovely.

Within 5 minutes I can smell the tutti fruiti again, but more like a port wine magnolia smell. Yummier by the minute!

Then my Man walks in the room, "hmmm, what's that one. I like that!" Sniff, sniff, sniff. Winner!

The sweetness is complemented by the lemony sharpness.

Only problem is it only lasted about 2 hours on me with any strength. Awesome, but I may need to bath in it.

I want more, but may need to find a way to keep the scent on me.

  3. Thanks everyone!

I have my next set of imps all planned, 9 of which are violet.

Veil, Marie, Nocturne, Faustus, Ultra Violet, Old Venice, Bats Blood, Wings of Azrael and The Raven. (Plus about 20 others.)

I have Saturnalia, Le Serpent and Viola on their way. Can't wait! I'm out in the garden sniffing violets in anticipation. :P

  4. Being a BPAL virgin, my first order is on the way, I would have to say I don't mind if they have freyed ribbon or not. From what I understand, they are cute little cylindrical bottles anyway. Maybe some should be freyed and others not. Like for only the newest scents.

Yes it does make them look sweet. But hey...as for labelling. I am all for a tiny sticker. Just hand written. Simple and quick.

  5. Just an idea.....

...maybe someone should start two new threads, one for "OMG I think mine has been lost!" and another for "Lots of thanks, I'm in scent heaven".

That way there are no emails building up or going astray and we all know BPAL people frequent the forum every few days...

  6. I was wondering if some of you seasoned aroma lovers could give me your opinions on the better violet BPAL choice. I have ordered some samples that are violet orientated, but I was curious to see if there was a favourite here on the forum.

I want something with a dominant violet scent, but I'm not sure with what combination...I have read all the reviews, but since I don't have an opinion to give, I thought I would ask for yours.

    Thanks... :P

  7. On the topic of the postal service and the postal order sytem in general.....Today is my birthday and some poor soul sent me an order of swarovski crystals, twice.

Hey great pressie, I know. But, just as a bit of reassurence. I had to let the nice person know what had happened, and let them know I am willing to reimburse them. $50 is a lot to me, but it's a concience thing.

So, whatever happens with lost products etc, know that some people do own up or let you know where your stock has gone.

Happy Birthday and fingers crossed it all works out. I hope someone gives you something nice and unexpected. :P
