    Fuck You, Said the Raven

In the bottle, warm patchouli. Wet on the skin Warm, soft patchouli (Not the 'A1 Steak Sauce' of cheap patchouli, but cultured and warm patchouli) with a hint of resin. Ten minute Dry down The Oak is swimming to the surface. Hour dry down Dusty Opoponax and oak leaves. YUM.

    Coin Trick

I don't get the citrus that other people get. It smells like Clinique Happy to me.

    Dragon's Hide

It's funny, of all of the Ars Draconis oils, this one is the least "Dragon-y" on me. I amp all the leather and it mutes all of the context and nuance that other people get on their skin. I normally amp incense.

    Dragon's Milk

This was in my first order, and I recently bought a new bottle. My first bottle is over ten years old now, and the new one direct from the lab. In the bottle- Wet, warm and spicy, with a cooling note of honey sweetened milk. On the skin- a bloom of cherry warms up the spice. 30 min dry down- dragon's blood warmth, and musk with a hint of black pepper to replace the sweet milk notes of the wet version.

    The Chicken-Legged Hut

I heard this incredible perfume was getting D-conned so I grabbed a spare bottle and am on the look out of more. It is so spicy and warm on me, I love it. An herbalist tried to follow me home from the Punk Rock Flea Market today while I was wearing it. After an hour dry down, this dusty leather note peeks out of my skin and wow. People really react to it.

    Anointing Exodus Formula

I explained this oil to a friend in email a few weeks back, and well… I can’t really improve upon the description I wrote, so here it is: - - - The Anointing Oil that I’m sending over is based on Exodus 30 23-29, ignoring the “Upon man's flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it, after the composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy unto you. Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people” bit, cuz that’s how I roll: ~ Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels, And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin: And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil. And thou shalt anoint the tabernacle of the congregation therewith, and the ark of the testimony, And the table and all his vessels, and the candlestick and his vessels, and the altar of incense, And the altar of burnt offering with all his vessels, and the laver and his foot. And thou shalt sanctify them, that they may be most holy: whatsoever toucheth them shall be holy. ~ I’m aware that Mathers probably substituted galangal for the calamus in order to circumvent the admonition, but whatevs. I’m not Mathers. The anointing oil contains steam-distilled Ethiopian myrrh, steam-distilled Ceylon cinnamon, calamus root essential oil, Chinese cassia essential oil extracted from leaves, twigs, and bark, and olive oil imported from the Convent of the Sisters of Bethlehem in Israel. I’m almost out of the olive oil, and they don’t seem to want to sell it to me anymore (lawl), so this batch might be the last of what I can make specific to this recipe. Don’t let the anointing oil get on any sensitive areas, and don’t drink it. Not that I’m saying you would. Cassia burns like a motherfucker, and calamus is a liver toxin, is all. I bought this the day it went up on the Etsy site, but never found the time to use, because "the Precious". I saw it in my altar drawer and couldn't resist. I did a clean sweep, anointed the altar, washed the statues lovingly and reset my altar space. Can I tell you how incredible this smells? Warm and resinous and homey, all in one. The cinnamon is absolutely the first thing to swim up from the murky depths of this divine oil, but it isn't the only one. I'm only sad that this is likely the only bottle I'll be able to obtain. Will continue my quest to clean and anoint the other altars in my home. Blessings.

    Yankee Candle to BPAL

My favorite Yankee scent is Midsummer's Night. Are there any BPALs that smell similar?
