Tart cloudberry, purple heather and wild hyacinth over peppery green clover freshly pulled out of peat. Exhuberant and pungent during the early drydown. A milky dandelion and creamed cloudberry veil settles gently over the clover and heath in the end. A lush, fresh meadow explosion that wafts into a soft earthy floral blend. All natural and fresh...a keeper!!

Wet~soapy bitter lemon oil mixed with an herbally vague aquatic. As a perfume, I could never wear this...for the voodoo, probably not either.
-
Wet~spicy incense, red musk...nice here! As it dries, a leather note followed by powdery floral. Meh! Now the soapiness and off to remove immediately.

A goblin squirt with an eBay win from Puddin...Zounds! Fresh dirt, grass, sunshine, flowers and sweet oranges, totally refreshing and down to earth. Loved it sprayed on my pillowcases. We never have enough spring in NE Texas...now I have a little squirt to give me spring fever.

Dazzling tropical flowers in night air...wild orchid, hibiscus, and moonflower shimmering in coolness. A faint hint of ginger, their nectar is far from overwhelming. Normally I would shy away from tropical blooms, but I am drawn in by the velvety coolness. Soft and sweet...feels very lunar and blue.

Evergreen boughs, a light fire of incense, damp night blooms and a hint of skin scent. Similar in some ways to Perchta, minus the snow. Earthy...nice decant!
-
Black tea, rum, cherry liqueur, almond buttercreams...it's all there. Slightly singed with kerosine, though. Nothing appealing here for me. Swap pile!

Candied nectar of roses, oozy sweet and sugary when wet. Morphs into green, tangy dank ozone, damp with languid oleander and downright poisonous. Will be a fun one to wear!

I hesitate to whiff anything with tobacco in it...this is a sticky date, ripe and fruity with a rooty mustiness at first. Dries quickly though, into the tobacco, wood shavings and leather. Not much to this one on the skin as it becomes very much like men's leather and tobacco cologne. Very dry to the nose.

In the imp, the aroma is very medicinal and herbal. Once on the skin it takes on an unguent thickness that dissolves quickly into watery jasmine and gardenia. There is is a green undertone to it~maybe majoram...and something else that is rooty. Actually quite subtle on the white florals...and surprisingly pleasant. Gardenia usually makes me run for cover, not here, though. Will hold on to this one for some good vibes to come my way.

I love the way this one smells in the vial...lots of pulque elixir, dried corn, cinnamon and dusty cocoa. Very savory, boozy and sweet. On my skin, it goes to straight up cinnamon and nothing more. One to try in the scent locket...no need for a bottle.

The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil

Just a sniffie of this from a decant circle...chocolately Asian pear, lychee, tamarind, oh my! There's a musky quality, almost boozy. Rich--ripe--oozing--exotic fruits. The pear wants to stay around more than any of the others. May have to try an full imp to get a better nose on this one... -
Bitter chamomile, herbs in the vial...rather nondescipt in the wet for me. Drydown becomes a nicely resinous from the frankincense and lightly spiced from the almondy heliotrope and saffron but the powdery doom of amber means this one will not see the light of day on me again!

A dark red oil, dabbed on lightly for my dread of red musk...mandrarin and saffron in the wet, saffron is very bright. Dries with some strong black tea and more herbs...not nearly as strong as I anticipated here. This is clean and clarifying with the spices. After it dries, the tonka and musk give it a strong depth of power holding the mandarin, spices in check. Definitely channelling my inner Beatrix Kiddo wielding a Hattori Hanzo and Pei Mei training. Sharp, zingy and prepard to the hilt to take on the Deadly Viper Assasination Squad!

Wet~Light cedar, pepper and an opaque skin musk. Getting a bit of balsam, too. A little jasmine, maybe...nothing major after that except for the baby powder. Now is smells like baby powder in a cedar chest...not attractive!

A lovely decant from snowysss. Such beautiful wildflowers...but the honey turns to a powdery dust all over them after 20 minutes on my skin. I am very sad... darn my chemistry!

Stephanotis, cyclamen, heliotrope, white rose and gardenia. Gardenia~I'm afraid for this one...wet--this is soft white florals, elegant stephanotis mostly. If the gardenia is there it's carefully melded with the other florals at this point. The heliotrope spices it up with a hint of cinnamon and vanilla along with the white rose. Once dried the rose has left a sweet delicate remembrance. Subtle, stately and feminine.

Soft tender rose, a hit of ylang ylang and stephanotis...very feminine, classic and sweet. The sweet pea kicks in midway with a gentle whisper of sweet myrrh. Inspiring... As it dries, the orris does what it normal does on my skin and amps to the 100th degree into a powdery headache inducer. Far too powerful for me.

What a difference a couple of months makes...the first time I tried this decant, it was very generic aquatic with just a hint of frankincense. The drydown today has some many new depths and nuances. The rose blends so well with the oud and a bit more green from the banks of the River. But the star for me is the bitter edge of clove spicing the wood...its drawing me in for a closer look at what lies underneath that river bank...

Rhododendron and bellflower petals swirl through deep, cool, dark aquatic notes. Beautiful botanicals! Dreamy cool fresh water notes melded with crisp green florals. A tinge of citrus from white rhododendron flower in the early wet stage. The chilly water note is deep blue and creamy akin to Beth's Black Moon but with floral greenery at the outer edges. Absolutely lovely...feminine.

... The scent of black smoke, of crackling flames, and smoldering ashes. Chemical fire afterburn...like burned jet fuel searing the ground. No way for me.
-
Smoky vetiver and black amber...only it's dampened and sticky, like tar. This one is for a die-hard vetiver fan. Not for me.
-
Nudie is traditional cologne skin scent to my nose, with a definite bend toward the soapy side. I don't get any of the sugar cane, but the floral is there. Glad I tried a decant...just not for me.

A strange and likeable concoction. Oddly enough one of the few fruity scents I like. The dirt note melding with the apricot appears in the wet, lingering long enough to give it a raw earthiness. Gritty black patchouli clouds the ripeness, then dries out with a hit of cedar chips. Fab....

Oh my...wet, this is very dry and medicinal. The orris fades in and out with the sandalwood. The sharpness abates turning into a creamy orris. Very different from any of the Ars Draconis blends. This one could work for me. It reminds me a bit of Bony Moon.
