Deep mahogany and rich, velvety woods lacquered with sweet, black-red cherries and currant. Looking at LyndaM's review just before mine, I'm hoping that if I come back to it in a year or so, my opinions will have changed, but unfortunately, for now, I get cherry cough drops in a wooden box, morphing to predominantly 'stale box' scent with strong throw. For now, this really isn't for me.

The honeysuckle is the predominant note on me, and really lasts for ages. (Good thing I like honeysuckle! ) I get the verbena in the earlier stages, but it recedes into the background. It's very sweet, in a sticky yet non-cloying sort of way, with a good throw. I do like it, but I don't think I'm in love with it

This really is heavenly - it does make me think of a lion on an African Savannah, proud and regal, golden against hot sand... (It's the scent I chose to wear to bolster me when I knew I had a potentially unpleasant meeting at work last week I wanted to feel all strong and powerful. The meeting went considerably better than I'd been dreading. Clearly coz I smelled so good! ) Amber and spice are just such an awesome combination.

Gorgeous! Sweet and fruity. I wouldn't really call it a citrus-fruity, because the fig makes it so sweet and red and there's no tang to it... My sister was with me when I first got it and she fell in love with it somewhat, too. It's a bright, warm, happy, friendly scent that embraces.

After smelling Dragon's Milk, but before smelling any other dragon's blood-containing scents, this is what I thought dragon's blood would smell like, but with patchouli Given that my original thought on smelling Dragon's Milk was that DB is amazing, and that one of my favourite Lush scents is Karma, which uses the same sort of patchouli, I doubt it will come as much surprise to hear that I really like this It's a very red scent - sweet and sticky and lovely!

My new imp, fresh from the lab, had an almost pencil-shaving-y scent to it during the wet on skin phase. It wasn't that strong and didn't last long, and would leave me with a lovely, deep, not-very-sweet spiced vanilla. It wasn't my favourite scent, but I really liked it. My friends told me that it would get better with age, so I did my best to leave it alone and see what happened It's only a month old, but I've already noticed changes. It skips out the pencil-shaving stage, and the vanilla itself has sweetened and deepened to match the spices. I'm very happy with sweet, and am really enjoying the ageing process If it continues getting better like this, then the hype about it makes perfect sense to me!

I wasn't too sure what to expect from this, but I wasn't expecting it to be a strong, sweet floral! I like it, but it was so different to what I'd expected (unfortunately, playful and sleek aren't scent descriptors, and I'm not quite sure what I expected as the equivalent - possibly something with a slightly furry spicy note to it, a subtle strength, a morphy, mecurial, tricksy element that was hard to pin down... Flowers hadn't crossed my mind) that I haven't found myself reaching for it...

I don't quite get golden light from this. It smells fusty and bitter to me in the bottle, and that's the dominant note on my skin. For a while, I thought there was something lovely lurking in the background, trying to break through, but it just wasn't strong enough For me, Tamora is a far better "golden" scent (as is The Lion, Aelopile, Iambe...)!

This comes on predominantly clove-y, but the dragon's blood and cherries soon come out to play, sweetening and warming it and making this a deep, sweet, spicy, almost smoky scent. I like it a lot and am awaiting a bottle!

The scent of warm, glowing jack o’lanterns on a warm autumn night: true Halloween pumpkin, spiced with nutmeg, glowing peach and murky clove. I've tried this a couple of times, and while I liked it, it smelled completely different on different applications! The first time I tried it, I got really strong visions of a lightly spiced quince tart, with a really buttery biscuit. The second, it was spiced peach and pumpkin, fading to smooth, creamy pumpkin pie. One to play with a bit more, to see what it ends up being like most often, I think

I get a dark chocolate (almost expensive cocoa) from this, rather than a milk chocolate! Wet, it's got that almost sour note that you get from the really dark stuff (the 85% cocoa plain chocolate). As it dries, it warms and gets more decidedly chocolatey, but it keeps the depth and air of quality. This is a chocolate to savour slowly, giving it your full attention. It stays around for a good, long time, doesn't change much, and really satisfies the need for a cocoa fix, rather than a sugar kick.

Thank you, hackess - as something to search to check descriptions and categories, and work out what I want to try, this will save me hours (I have a slow connection)!!

OMG! *love* wet, it's almost chocolate-coated liebkuchen dipped in cherry jam! As it dries, the cinnamon comes out to play and the chocolate goes away. The honeysuckle sweetens and rounds this off in a non-obtrusive way. Dry, at first, it flickers between a true cinnamon and a gingerbread cookie. I like. Then, later, the chocolate comes back (it's the chocolate note from Gluttony). The cinnamon doesn't leave, and they work soooo well together. I have also discovered that it dissolves the red dye in carrier bags, should anybody ever want to do that ;-) (I had a bag on my desk and rested my wrist on it). I think I'm going to need a bottle of this.

Lemons!! In the bottle, it smells lemon curdy/like lemon cheesecake. Wet on skin, it's light and lemony and just lovely. When it's dry, it gets a few notes popping up then sauntering off again (something green, sometimes a hint of citrus peel bitterness, sometimes 100% sweet, edible lemon (think crepe pancakes drenched in lemon juice and sprinkled in sugar), sometimes a floral touch). It doesn't have a strong throw on me - I thought it had disappeared entirely around lunchtime, then when I got home from work realised my wrists smelled like lemon sherbets. Fourteen hours after application, it's a lemon Chuppa Chupp smell, right up close (I think this is the sweetest and least 'real' lemon juice it's been)... I really, really like this. I just wish it had a stronger throw!

I liked the lemonyness in the bottle - quite tangy, and I can see why some people got 'lemonade' and others got 'washing up liquid' from it - but it doesn't like me Wet on skin, it quickly turned from zingy lemon to a strong vomit smell. I stuck it out to see if it went nice again when it dried, but it turned really bitter - keeping with the reflux theme, it pretty much smelled like bile. I'm not sure what it was that went funny on me - I'm guessing the aloe or green tea, or perhaps a combination. Searching the forum indicates that people have had mixed results for ageing it, so maybe I'll keep it for a while and see if it improves...
