I really, really wanted to like this.. but I don't It doesn't smell warm and sweet like I expected.. I see other people using the word "sour", which I think I agree with.. it dries down to a tolerable dry-wood-y scent, but wet it is just gross! Edit: I re-tried this after letting my imp sit for a couple of months - and now I really like it! It smells like what it is supposed to. I don't know if it was the aging.. but now I want a 5ml! So, try not to judge Bezoar too hastily.

Too sweet.. I'm not a fan of BPAL's sweet vanillas, such as this, Dorian, and Antique Lace, so this isn't my thing.
-
A surprise love! It starts cherry, which I'm not crazy about- but then it quickly changes to a really nice woody-incense-y scent.. and then it promptly disappears completely. I'm not sure yet if it is worth investing in a bottle and re-applying frequently or giving up..
-
This one is much too savoury for me.. I primarily smell the basil and cumin. Too dinner-food-y!
-
Oh no! This was so lovely at first- but it dries powdery on me too

The scent of a pirate's bumboat, overflowing with stolen wares: tea leaf, cassia, cinnamon bark, clove, allspice, sandalwood, tobacco, peppercorn, and nutmeg. I agree that this smells like Bengal minus the honey. Bengal was mega sweet on me, but Plunder is nice and dry.
-
Caramel and tobacco are interesting together.. sort of smells like burnt sugar.. a bit sweet for me, but interesting... sort of like a masculine-foody scent.

Golden amber, vanilla musk, myrrh, cedar, carnation, and red sandalwood. Unfortunately I'm going to add to the voices of "this is powder-y vanilla icky".. but I hate Morocco too, so this just isn't my kind of thing.
-
I probably should have googled daemotrops before I ordered a decant because: "The fruits of certain species, in particular Daemonorops draco, produces a red resin known as "Dragon's blood"." Dragon's blood and red musk both hate me- they totally overpower this blend, and all I smell is sweet floral icky-ness. This isn't dry and parchment-y on me at all, unlike Aziraphale for example.
-
I assumed that this was dragons-blood based. It is not! I rejoice! This is actually pretty nice! Even though it is cherries and vanilla I don't find it too sweet- the musk and vertiver must keep it from being foody.

The scents that get you the most compliments?

Hehe unfortunately, yeah..I am...it's a gradute studies program, but still - we're all adults, right? I should add that I didn't even consider not mentioning that it was an oil. I should also mention that the girl with the "toilet cleaner" remark is fiercely competitive with me and rather insecure. I know it isn't *just* the scents. Her response would have been identical no matter what the scent was, I'd wager. To the woman's defence, Urd is very strong and very earthy and very different from regulat perfume. -
If you can track some down, try Teenaged Cannibal.

Like the other Voodoo blends that I've tried (Love me, #20 Love Oil) this was all icky floral on me (I like very few florals).
-
This one is not for me. It is a very sweet vanilla with a hint of floral. I'm not a fan of either note. I was hoping for more tea/bergamot.

Luckily, this smells exactly like yummy mulled red wine on me. No syrup, no cherry. I'm not sure that I want to smell like mulled wine. but it's nice to wear at home.

Wonderful beautiful loveliness. The vanilla in this is perfect. The vanilla in Dorian, Morocco and Antique Lace made those scents cloyingly sweet on me, but the other notes in V must make this a perfect yummy vanilla blend!

I usually have to test a whole bunch that sound good before finding some winners. Glad to see that you found another favourite!

This is my absolute favourite of all the BPAL scents that I have smelled. I LOVE frankincense and myrrh (Penitence) and this has both of these, and the other notes (especially cypress) really add something that brings it to another level.

I really wanted to like Aureus. I have tested it many times. It always smells like (the dreaded) peanut butter. Not in a good way, either! I like woodsy, I like earthy.. but there is something about this one that isn't working for me at all.
-
I rarely go for foody scents, but this one is fabulous because of the spices, which I always go for. It's like a slightly foodier and more Cardamom-y Chimera - or a foody version of Plunder. I don't get any chocolate or vanilla.

This definitely has similarities to Valentine of Rome. I LOVE VoR, and I love this. It's clove-licious, but nowhere near a single note clove- the other notes really make it interesting. I also agree that is is very dry- great for those who don't like sweet scents!
-
I had no idea this would be so fabulous!! It is warm and yummy and spicy. I was afraid of the "soft perfume" in the description- but I would never describe it like that! It is neither soft not perfume-y, which is a good thing in my opinion.

Fresh on skin: green fig! Dry: warm ripe fig! I LOVE this scent. It is warm and comforting and delicious-smelling.
-
An amazing scent. Warm beeswax, with the addition of spicy resins and sharp citrus and herbs to keep it from being too food-y.
-
I really liked this one at first, but then something just wasn't right.. I blame the lily of the valley. Something a bit too.. pwerfume-y? I prefer Lyonesse for gentle vanilla or Opuhi for ginger-vanilla.
