Smells rather like I expected it to. In the bottle, smells sweet, open bottle smelled sharp. On skin, it was powerfully sweet, with an undertone of bitterness (shouldn't sin smell like that?). Drydown, the combination of cinnamon and amber are Play-Do-y again. It's very nice, but not me. The scent aura is lovely, but I just don't love the way it smells on my skin.

Fresh, it smelled like dusty woods, old spices, and a touch of, um, hungry vagina. Drydown, it's soft spices. 5 hours is too long to wait for a scent to develop.

This smelled like some fancy coffee creamer that was about to go off while in the bottle. On skin, there was a jolt of chocolate, and that went away almost immediately. Something about BPAL vanilla turns to Play-Do on my skin LOL it does smell furry, but in a round, doughy sort of way. Sandalwood and myrrh always smell nice on me, but the cocoa vanilla totally overwhelms them, so another one for the trade bag.

In the bottle, light and fruity. Open bottle, fresh pack of Juicyfruit gum. On skin, it smells like I'm at the dentist; a touch of sour breath, a cloyingly sweet-to-disguise-the-chemical smell of some paste or goo. Sandalwood dances in the background, hiding behind a screen. I don't have much luck with amber scents, and yet I keep trying and trying... *laughs* LATER: Man, this is some potent shit. Less flowery now, and the sandalwood is coming through now, but it seems filtered, I think by the amber. You know, that scent that is so yummilicious on everyone else's flesh but mine... ah well. Into the trade bag unless it changes dramatically soon. Did I mention that it was potent? *PHEW* ADDED Sept. 30: The ingredients sound so magnificent, so delectable! If only. This starts pleasantly enough, flowers and amber, but it rapidly turns waxy. Like an old lipstick, a waxy perfumed scent. Like the kiddie lipstick that came with your "dress-up" tiara and bracelets and wee plastic heels when you were a little girl. Trade bag.

They say that this a wet piney smell, and they are absolutely spot on with the description. While pine is normally considered a masculine scent, this one is asexual - there's no spice to make it Mars-specific. This is very wet, and pleasant without smelling like aftershave or deoderant.

Dunno what the difference between red and black patchouli. But this is a nice dark, dirty scent. Again, in the bottle it smelled light, open bootle it smelled of sour fruit, and once on it blossomed into incensed patchouli. It's a quick fade, and is mostly dark nag champa.

(Not much of an ingredient list, yeah, but the reviews babbled about how this was TehYummeh!! so I was willing to try it) In the bottle, soft. Open bottle, again with the mildly spoiled fruit. IS there something going on with my nose? On skin, it became quite citrus-y, yet without careening wildly like Calliope into smelling like Lemon Pledge There is a touch of wood behind the lemon. If there's lemongrass, can there be lemonwood? Not what I'd hoped it would be.

Husband says that it smells like old women, and the name should be changed to "Geriatric". So nice, he is LOL I think it smells the way a BPAL "ought" to smell, but then I tend to purchase scents with these contents.

In the bottle, very pale. Opening the bottle, spoiling fruit. Wet, spoiled fruit goes away immediately and it smells very familiar. A man's cologne? A body spray? VERY FAMILIAR AND MADDENING. Fades quickly, in less than 5 mins, but swells and fades over the day. Like this a lot.

Huh, weird. In the bottle, very flowery. Opening the bottle releases a sour smell. Wet on skin, sourness goes away instantly, leaving a putty-like smell (that is the orris root). Can't smell the patchouli or the myrrh. This a very stark scent, for all that it has powerful ingredients. LATER: it's been a few hours, and seems to have settled down. This reminds me a LOT of some popular scent from the 80's. I want to say "Calvin Klein's Obsession", not sure if that is right. Considering the bangy ingredients, and the disappointingly subdued results, I think this one goes in the trade bag.

I was not expecting to like this because rum and I do not, er, get along since a particular party many moons ago, but on my skin it's lush. First cometh almonds, then swell the cloves. This is a powerful yummeh scent, and I'm surprised and happy with it. (later: Wow, those cloves stick around - what a pleasant scent)

While the color is red, the scent is allllll vanilla. Unless this changes during drydown, I think it's going on the trade pile. (later: Yep, this is much too light for me.)

In the bottle, very green, that's the balsam (oh, those grim grim evergreens), on skin it lightens up immediately and the geraniums are dominant. I'm intrigued in how the patchouli is so understated. This is a very discreet scent, and I really like it.

In the bottle this smell surprisingly light and feminine, almost like a professional scent in a department store. On skin, it explodes into multiple scents and layers. Holy crap! This isn't a scent I'd wear for a date, this is something I'd put on if I was home alone and feeling utterly self-indulgent. Woof! (later: fades quickly, but still a luxurious wafting aura) This is one of my favorite scents.

Smells like honeysuckle. Very feminine and floral, husband likes this one best so far, but it's not exactly me.

So complex! Leather is very quiet, and it goes through a lot of changes as it dries. I have no idea what most of the ingredients smell like separately, so can't tell you what it smells like now. About half an hour after applying, I was reminded of the smell of a library or a dusty bookstore. Now there is just STUFF going on in the scent. Fascinating - an asexual scent which starts masculine.

Frimp from the lab. Not one I would have chosen myself, as it sounds as sweet as it smelled in the bottle, but on my skin it's really pleasant. Reminds me a bit of my grandmother's perfume (the feisty funky Jewish one). My cat also tried to lick this one off my wrist, what the hell is wrong with that cat??

In the bottle, it smells of almond, and I think hmmm, another Queen of Sheba? Yay! I put it on my skin, and am overwhelmed with lemon. Yes, ladies and germs, I smell like a kitchen cleaned with Lemon Pledge wherein someone rolled out marzipan.
-
A cinnamon scent, hm. I don't pick up any cranky from this scent, but my cat tried to lick it from my wrist (!) It's pleasant, if innocuous.
-
It's sweet without being cloying, there's a juiciness to it.
-
Soap. Nice soap, but soap. Has a bit of a snap to it, I guess that is the malice coming through
-
WOW! WOWIE WOWIE WOW is this yummy! Makes me think of an old leather chair in the library of a wealthy family, where generations of men have smoked spicy tobacco in their pipes. There's a background sweet note (the chamomile) that supports the leather, musk, and incense. Ended up purchasing a 5ml of this one YUM!

Smells very strongly of vetivert in the bottle, and slightly more softly on my skin. It smells less like generic soap now, has a small snap to it, but isn't a particularly potent scent. And certainly doesn't make me think about ripping out throats and howling in gleeful fury over the corpses of my foes (at least, no more than usual).
-
Smells like spoiled honey in the bottle, on my skin the honey disappears almost instantly. I'm guessing that the scent I cannot identify is the laurel. It's sweet, without being cloying, and not unpleasant.

In the bottle, light, fruity (plum? fig?). Bottle opened smells like Juicyfruit gone bad. Wet: Bad juicyfruit goes away, replaced by fruity scent with a snap. I'm guessing the fruity scent is the red wine (and ambergris?). The snap is the ozone. An interesting scent. Not a daily wear, but we'll see how it evolves. Drydown, the leather comes out. "the perfume of their armor, the chill wind that surges through their tower" is a good evocation. This is a cold scent with some distant depth. To get all poetic an' shit, this makes me think of the shadows behind a cairn. Not a scent for a date LOL the wood and leather and ozone grow stronger, the fruit and sweetness are fading.
